## What is Home Routines?

Take care of your home and everyday care responsibilities with Home Routines. Create adaptable routine checklists with reminders to keep you on track, and a gold star for each completed task. Lists can invisibly reset, so you can start afresh each morning, week, or month.

Reduce decision fatigue and overwhelm with our “One Thing” mode - simply tap to be given just one task to focus on from all of today’s lists. A built-in timer helps you dedicate a period of time to the task at hand.

You can close off a list even with tasks yet incomplete, to accommodate life’s ever-changing plans as well as changes to your capacity on the day - or complete the same list multiple times.

Customize your own detailed cleaning and decluttering lists within the Focus Zones section. Add rooms and tasks to suit your home, and follow a looping schedule to help focus your attention one area at a time. Create your own schedule, or stay in sync with other followers of systems like FlyLady.

Home Routines’ Accomplishments list is the “Tada!” to your todo - review the tasks you’ve completed today, and celebrate by sharing your victories large and small. You’re doing great.

All our core features are freely available, with more fun and flair for subscribers.

If you're coming from the original Home Routines we've got you covered with a option to easily import your existing data.

### 5/5 — Good upgrades, happy with the old app too

*2025-06-17*

I’ve used the previous, basic version for years. I love it. It helps so much with my ADHD, being able to break down a larger task into smaller, less daunting tasks. Routines are so helpful, and being able to schedule them as needed keeps my list focused. I have many routines and many tasks. So I like to group them, for each part of the day. For example, several routines for mornings, as opposed to one extremely long list. And when the time is up (morning is over) I can move onto the next segment of the day knowing my routines will be there and I’ve had a chance to review them to ensure anything critical for today is complete. This review applies to the new version compared with the old.

What I love:
* Lists existing within routines, ability to switch routine to list and vice versa
* Sections within lists/routines
* New icons and colors for routines/lists
* Notes on tasks.

What I miss:
* Daily messages. I used them a lot.
* Links within tasks. You can still have them, but they’re not functional.
* Today vs All views. Another feature I used a lot, for organizing routines.

Wish List:
* Notes on sections and routines.
* Option to import To Do and Zone information

There may be more in my wish list, but that’s it for now.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the updated, thoughtful review. Good news, Daily Messages are coming back with the next feature update.

### 5/5 — The Best

*2025-06-12*

I have used this app for YEARS and I love it so much. I finally bought the subscription but this truly is an app that you don’t get annoying ads with the free version. There is also so much available in the free version - there really is no need to buy it. I love it so much I want to support the people who make it.

There are timers, lists, etc. Each can be customized - I’m a teacher and I have different routines for the school year versus summertime.

**Developer response:** Thanks very much, we really appreciate the review, and the subscription!

### 5/5 — Good upgrades, buggy

*2025-05-15*

I like some of the new features. Some bugs I’ll report directly. Easy to use.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review! Please do reach out to us on support@homeroutines.com, we're happy to help, and we're working hard to get any remaining bugs fixed.

### 5/5 — The best ever app for staying on track!

*2025-04-23*

I absolutely LOVE Home Routines. So much so that I am moving all of my routines and to do lists from other apps I’ve tried over the years to Home Routines. I’ve used it long enough now to know that it does everything and more than other apps I have used. And they keep improving it.

For some reason it’s so much easier to follow and less stressful. I think it’s because it’s so well organized. You can hide routines that are not scheduled for today or this month. You’re not overwhelmed with everything all at once.

Once you get a routine the way you like it, you can duplicate it, rename it, and edit it for another area. For example your routine for cleaning your master bedroom would be similar to cleaning the guest bedroom.

You can set routines to show daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly. You can select it to show only on certain days or certain months.

You know how easy it is to forget certain monthly or annual tasks - like changing the furnace filter or descaling your coffee machine? No more. You can just put it in a monthly or annual routine.

You can also set up zones, but unlike other apps, you can leave them unscheduled, if you like. Home Routines will show you the last zone you were working in, which is the way I like to work - section by section. I don’t like to be halfway finished with a zone and have the app make me move on.

Thumbs up, developers! You’ve done an amazing job!

**Developer response:** Thanks so much for the lovely, and thorough, review! We plan to keep improving the app.

### 5/5 — Been waiting for this app.. Thanks

*2025-04-23*

I'm still playing around with the different options..thank you for putting in the work to get this app going.. The only thing I could really use is a calendar and this app would be almost perfect.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review and the feedback!

### 5/5 — Best cleaning app

*2025-04-17*

My kids called it morning stars when they they were little. Every morning they would hit the star when they did the chore ! They don’t like morning stars as teenagers lol

**Developer response:** Thanks for the lovely review, it made us smile.

### 5/5 — Great app, and great developer response!

*2025-04-17*

I've been using this app to keep me on track for over a decade. I was excited to use the new version, and when I reported a formatting problem with the "One Thing" feature in my review, they had it fixed within days! Thank you!

### 4/5 — Love the app, room for improvement

*2025-04-10*

I’ve been using the previous version of this app for more than 10 years, and I love it! I was excited to see that there is an updated version with some new features. The feature I tried today was the “one thing” option, which shows you the next item on your list, without the distraction of the others. Unfortunately, for some reason, when it’s in this mode, the far right portion of the screen is missing/out of view on my phone, so when I complete the item, the arrow to advance to the next item is not visible. I would actually prefer if it would automatically advance to the next item when I mark the “one thing” as complete, but it would also be great to see the full screen. I hope the developers can clean up this bug soon. 👍🏼

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words and for reporting the layout problem with “One Thing” mode! We’ve fix this and the update should be out in the next day or so.

### 5/5 — Best app for busy and/or distracted people!

*2025-04-10*

I’ve been using the old Home Routines app for around 15 years. It changed my life! I’ve tried all the other popular productivity apps that have come up over the years, but none have been better than this one. This app helped me manage crazy busy mornings so my kids and I could start the day unfrazzled. Home Routines taught me how to break up chores into manageable sessions and kept track so I always knew what needed to be done. Just try it! And keep trying. Habits take time, but you’ll get there!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the kind and encouraging review! We’ll like to keep improving the app for the next 15 years if we can.
