It even has Montclair Golf Course near me, which is a dive bar with nine 50 yard holes attached. At its best it really feels like the courses, with appropriate slopes even. The negatives are basically everything else. The courses look and play like giants grass fields with fairways scattered about (as opposed to OB areas). Very generic and not accurate. The physics are wonky, with the ball bouncing often like mad, more like it’s being shot out of a cannon. The ball tracking tends to wildly exaggerate spin on my R10. Balls curve like 90 degrees, it’s wild. Might as well just cancel the 30 day trial and start paying for awesome golf if I can’t even go 5 shots on a range or 3-4 shots into a round before the whole app bugs out and freezes ### 3/5 — A lot of freezing issues *2026-06-01, version 1.0.5* Picked up a r10 yesterday and was very excited to try it out. I’m still getting used to it. I love the potential of the Home Tee app, even for previewing rounds at local courses. But the app freezes… a lot. While using the r10 it freezes. While just clicking through a course, it freezes. Once that’s resolved, this will be one stellar app for the launch monitor. Meanwhile the range on the standard Garmin Golf app works flawlessly, so far. One suggestion, I’d love to be able to review the simulated round after on the app using the same Shot Maps as the Golf app to get an idea of how the sim round might prepare me for the real thing if I play a course ahead of time as a preview. Shot Maps could be a good indicator to review what good or bad misses might produce on the course. Also, would LOVE to sync my CT10 sensors with the app so it knows what club I’m playing. Seems that would be a benefit to the hardware/software developers to know the club vs. attack angle, dynamic loft, launch angle, etc. in relation to the club selections. ### 2/5 — Gray dot on my app *2026-04-18, version 1.0.5* Disappointed that there is a large gray dot in the middle of my fairway ### 3/5 — Great app for great price *2026-04-15, version 1.0.4* But!!! It needs to update their physics to match Awesome Golf. There’s zero backspin in this game and some shots can be wonky. But overall it’s fun to play ### 4/5 — Needs a Driving Range feature. *2026-04-10, version 1.0.4* Great looking and performing app. The lack of a driving range is baffling to me though. ### 3/5 — Amazing update for R10 Users *2026-04-09, version 1.0.4* The graphics updates and amount of local courses finally lets me use home tee hero instead of a 3rd party app. However there’s still some issues: 1. Drop placement for balls in a water hazard is way too close to the edge of the water often on a step downslope which makes it impossible to avoid the water unless you play backwards. 2. Some ball physics issues when taking a bounce of a tree or side of a bunker. 3. Allow placement in tee boxes 4. Rotating pin placements would be nice. But the number one thing I would like to see is an actual driving range and some more practice options there. The Garmin golf app has that option but is basically unusable with how bad the interface is especially on an iPad. Would really like to see just a basic range with improved graphics and view options. ### 5/5 — Improving *2026-04-05, version 1.0.4* Has a hard time reading short chips around 20 yards and under. Side spin physics seems exaggerated. The app itself looks great! Very nice upgrade but needs a patch. Think it’s great. Fantastic home simulator experience. But… No ability to set a scramble and choose teams… No ability to fix drop location on a penalty ball. So a lot of the time if you hit in water then the ball is dropped on edge angled down into the water. Overly frustrating we have no ability to pick ball up and drop properly. Enhanced courses aren’t what I thought they’d be from garmin. No beautiful flowers at Augusta…. The hole beauty of the place. No clubhouse either. Should also be an ability to turn crowds on or off this would truly enhance courses and that feeling you are there for real. It’s Garmin. They have the ability to put homes and things on every course or the clubhouses that make the course look true to life they just don’t. But it’s still 5 stars… why? Price, accuracy of reads are okay, and ultimately it’s an okay and functional decently graphic home simulator. Never expected GS Pro like graphics from it.
