Home Tide shows the day's tides on the home screen - and now lock screen - in a way that makes them easy to understand at a glance. The lock screen widget shows the day's tides as a graph, with a karaoke ball highlighting the current part of the cycle, so you can see how high the tide is, when high and low tide are, and whether the tide is going in or out with a quick glance. The home screen widget shows the same graph and karaoke ball, but with the background coloured according to the daylight, so you can see at a glance which stages of the tide fall in daylight hours, which are at night, and which are in twilight. Tapping on either widget opens the app, where you can see the same graph, karaoke ball and daylight hours as the home screen widget, but with heights added to the graphs. Choose any day in the next week and drag a finger along the graph to see the height change through the day. I like how clean it is and the gradient for the daylight is very useful and super cool. However, I wish you could add an offset or something by an hour or so. For example, I live 15 minutes down the road from my nearest tide point. But the tide is like an hour behind. I live in a coastal loch. On Navionics I can see the tide for where I live because of this. So it would be good to add an offset of a couple of hours so you can create an exact time for your shore. Other than that - brilliant! ### 3/5 — No height of tide on the widget *2024-05-28* Disappointed to see that the widget only displays a graph and the numerical height of tide is not displayed. I like how you can customise the lock screen widget colour. I would like to be able to see the tide height on the widget but this could be an update for the future. No use for paddling on the Thames. **Developer response:** Hi, Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Although there are some river locations in the app, you’re right - the majority are coastal and the only one on the Thames is Sheerness - right on the coast. Unfortunately I don’t control which locations have tide data, but now you’ve highlighted this I’m going to add a list of locations to the App Store page, to hopefully avoid this kind of issue happening again. I’m sorry Home Tide wasn’t what you were looking for. All the best ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2023-04-17, version 2.8* I purchased this app and it crashes once you select a location every time. I tried to email the developer and no response. Requested a refund. **Developer response:** I’m so sorry this happened. I can’t recreate the problem here but I’m very keen to get to the bottom of it. If you’d still like to try the app then please drop me a line on hometide@protonmail.com and I’ll send you a code to reinstall the app for free. Doesn’t seem to work with the new update, it’s only 99p so 5stars from me. Please make the simple coding to make it work with IOS16 **Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback!
