An hour and a half later, I’m wishing I didn’t spend my money on it. The story is at its most interesting about halfway through, before taking a random, confusing, and uninspired turn at the end. The way that the story ends leaves you with no answers and not enough curiosity or investment to go looking. It feels like the plot of the game was never actually decided, so it goes in a dozen different directions- not in an exciting, choose-your-own-adventure way, but in a way that drains all emotion from the story. Since there’s nothing in the way of a concrete storyline, there’s nothing for the player get attached to or curious about. I think I know what the developers were going for, but the game is just...flat. ### 2/5 — Fizzles. *2019-01-22* Not really a horror or a puzzler. The atmosphere this game promises to have before you buy it is sadly the most fun you’ll have. Essentially, the character only interacts with himself to build a somewhat variable story of no consequence. At best, a good concept that falls flat. ### 2/5 — It’s bad *2018-12-19* Bad it’s not scary or really original. controls are wierd and can’t open doors ### 3/5 — Interesting but too creative for its own good (mild spoilers) *2018-11-23* Home is a good game conceptually but spins too wide and open of a web to really capture my imagination. At the end you are left with essentially no reward for everything you did other than more confusion. I suppose their is a literary style that this is based on but the best authors like Poe still manage to capture your imagination, your horror, your mind and give you the finish. So in the end you are left with just your thoughts here instead. And there is no possible story which fits all the variables provided within. Please continue to write though. The App Store needs more unique tales like this. One suggestion to the player: definitely try and dedicate time to this start to finish. A lot gets lost if you play it 30 mins at a time. The story really goes nowhere, and the gameplay itself is just monotonous and boring. There are much better games in the App Store that achieve the mystery and atmosphere that this game is shooting for but, sadly, does not attain. ### 1/5 — Non starter *2019-04-13, version 1.6.2* Double tapping does absolutely nothing on my iPad. I can move the character, shine the torch about but that is about it . Wasted time trying to get answers from developers but got nowhere. I typically like games that offer a different approach, but this left a lot to be desired. Your character has amnesia (never a good sign) and through a series of yes/no questions you sort of determine what the 'ending' is. There's no ending to speak of though, and despite setting up an elaborate scenario you never really find out what's going on. It's very retro-slick but it's all style, no substance - and indeed the game becomes inexcusably repetitive and predictable for such a short game. ### 1/5 — Broken *2018-03-19, version 1.6.1* Completely broken on iPhone 6 iOS 11. Not even 10 minutes in and the game freezes on a text dialogue that is impossible to get around. ### 1/5 — Touch error at end *2017-09-22* All that effort only to have it bug out and can't double tap the last interaction...no matter how many times I reset it. Unfortunately after two play throughout making different choices I end up with a still very inconclusive ending that really offered not explanation like I anticipated for the entire game. It was entertaining for the time I played but I was so disgruntled when I finished that I wish I hadn't spent the money in the first place ### 1/5 — Not a horror game *2016-10-29, version 1.5.4* The story was very good, which did intrigue me, but overall I wasn't as terrified as I expected. There were almost no scares in the entire game expect for the black cat like 15 seconds in, and all the music did was put you on edge for nothing. Absolutely worth it. I didn’t stop until I finished it. A few years later I decided I had to give it another go.
