Believe it or not, the quality of this app has deteriorated over the last year and it hasn’t even been updated since March of 2025.

It’s still slow and crashes all the time, but now it can’t even control our thermostat. Additionally the support is generally useless. I have reached out to them several times with different issues and none have ever been resolved.

I stand at my door for 10-15 seconds (if it works) every time I enter or leave my apartment. I have to switch from my keys to my phone after I get out of my car. Very annoying if I have groceries in one had and my keys in the other. This only benefits the apartment complex, not the residents. Avoid complexes with these locks.

my apartment complex recently got our locks changed from a fob to this.. I never had any issues with the fob. This app is extremely SLOW! if someone was chasing you to your home and the door was locked you are SCREWED! It takes 20 seconds to open the door.. no exaggeration.. Could yall js make the unlocking and locking process FASTER???!!

I haven’t been able to sync to my Homebase app for days now. It would be okay if my apartment complex also gave us conventional locks, but Homebase took over the entire front door. I’ve had to ask my roommates to leave the door open, but what happens if they’re aren’t home? What happens if the leasing office isn’t available? If it’s late at night and I need to get into my home quickly, something bad may happen because we don’t have regular locks and keys.

This app makes zeroooooooo sense. Let’s say my phone is out of battery and it’s the middle of the night. I have no charger and I want to get inside my apartment and go on with the rest of my night. But NOOOOOOOO, now I need to charge my phone because there’s no other way of getting into my apartment. I can’t even call a locksmith because oh it’s keyless entry. And how can I call customer support, my PHONE IS OUT OF BATTERY. So if you really want to make your life tougher install this system. ☺️

I am literally standing outside my front door right now because I can’t get in my own apartment which uses this system.  Battery randomly dies (even though app says battery is fine). Bought a 9-volt and jolted the lock, but now my app can’t detect the lock.  Wasted an hour today and looks like i’ll be wasting another hour tonight or more because it’s afterhours and no tech support so I have to wait for emergency tech support.

If you are considering renting from a company that utilizes this app, DON’T. It’s slow, poorly designed, often useless and all around terrible. Unlocking doors takes forever - if it works in the first place. The widgets and even the unlock buttons in the app itself don’t unlock the correct door about half the time. Smart home controls also rarely work correctly. It logs out for no reason frequently and you must type in your email and password - not shortcuts or biometrics - leaving you stuck outside. Horrible, horrible app.

The app closes out randomly and takes 5+ minutes to open, locking you out of your apartment and elevators. It’s truly a terrible app that needs a better team running it. 

The team behind this app has no idea how to properly develop an app. They refuse to actually make changes

can’t stand this app. Waiting multiple minutes for a LOCK in insanity. I have not been able to get help with it either. I’ve used since August and it has never gotten even slightly better. Nice try, but this is trash and you ruin my day. Enough to make me not resign my lease- genuinely the only reason

As others have mentioned, even when it works it’s slow to open on my 15pro. Since a few months, the app keeps logging me out. So I show up, want to quickly get in, but have to reenter all my info first while standing in the cold.

Not to be dramatic, but this app is an absolutely joke. In theory? AMAZING. In reality? The most frustrating thing you will ever be asked to download, and I’m going to tell you why. 

Imagine bringing in groceries or luggage and you go to open the app and suddenly you find it’s automatically logged you out… for the second time this week.

OR maybe the weather is really bad, and you’re running from your car to the door of your building and the app just doesn’t want to work :)

OR maybe you’re running late and forgot your wallet and you’re trying to get back into your actual apt. that you JUST locked easily enough, but the lock simply won’t activate and you can’t get into YOUR house. 

ORRRRR maybe building doors just disappear from your available doors, including the doors to your building, so now you REALLY can’t get in you house - hopefully the leasing office is open and it’s not raining :)

Anyways, you get the point. This app could be genuinely useful and helpful, but it’s just… not. At all. It’s an inconvenience and a fob would be significantly more impactful. I’m tired and I’m logging off now and I hope this app and the people managing it have the day they deserve.

This app is highly inconvenient. As a resident of a condo complex, I’ve experienced frequent freezing, unresponsiveness, and the need to restart it multiple times. Despite using it for 1.5 years, it remains unreliable. Additionally, the app does not function in the basement, even with Wi-Fi. I strongly urge the condo management to consider switching to a more reliable alternative.

It takes forever to open the app. It shouldn’t be so hard. Most people have slow internet outside of their door and if you let us stand there for minutes with groceries in our hands just so the app can take its sweet time to load is unacceptable. Use the lock to connect to the internet, not the phone.

Have you ever came home from a long day at work and thought to yourself, I really wish I could stand outside my front door for and extra 2-3 minutes? Well your in luck because this worthless app and lock system are professionals at what they do! Every time you want to lock/unlock your door expect a few minutes of nothing as this terrible service processes the request to lock your door. This service is an absolute joke and is far and away inferior to a normal lock and key. I really think if it wasn’t for clueless land lords this business would not exist. Not only does their app take forever to process requests to lock/unlock your door but the widget for the app is more broken than the actual app itself. Instead of being a convenient short cut, it’s a giant waste of time. No matter what door you click on it will always just end up unlocking the last used door. The only thing that could ever make this app more convenient than a conventional lock and key is if it unlocked the door as you approached it automatically. However even this has the downside of providing this terrible company access to your location 24/7. Avoid this like the plague. Any apartment complex/rental unit should automatically be eliminated from consideration when looking to rent if this “service” is included.

The app has rejected my login every time I try tonight and they close their support phone hours ago so I'm locked out until tomorrow morning.

When the battery of the lock becomes “critically low” (no notification when it is low, just critically low) it automatically notifies your landlord to come replace the battery. 

This idea on paper is nice idea, but the reality is I don’t want the landlord maintenance to show up unplanned while I’m not home because my lock decided to invite them in. I’m pretty sure this is illegal in my state.

So many time delays opening entrance gates and home door. It’s randomly logged me out several times. I’ve used several apps across different complexes I’ve lived in; this has been by far the worst experience so far.

Never loads and always logs me out for no reason, error code 0 always pops up and I literally cannot lock my own doors sometimes.

This app consistently logs me out, fails to load, and locks me out of my apartment on a nearly daily basis. I rarely have the ability to actually log in on my first attempt and often have to reload the app, uninstall, or sign in. The entire process to open my front door can take me anywhere from 2-10 minutes a day. It’s such a pain and hassle.

This app contributes to my daily stress and wastes time for me every single day.  Ask your landlord for a keycard.  Just randomly stops working and requires you to reset everything on your phone.  Doesn’t monitor battery in the lock unless you waste more time updating the lock on a weekly basis. Total trash app and execution.  Support is usually offline when you need them (like when it’s the evening and you just want to go home, but you can’t because this idiotic app won’t work).

This app works very fast and is super convenient! I work in the leasing office at a HomeBase community and their app has made our resident’s lives and office staff’s workload a lot better. It is so easy for everyone to use. The two super small issues we had (between 600 residents, only two issues) were VERY quickly resolved by their support team. HIGHLY recommend HomeBase!

I was very hesitant to move into my apartment because home base was the only internet provider they offered and I was coming from Google fiber. However, it’s worked flawlessly at the same price as my old fiber plan so I am very happy with the service. And the customer service is very efficient! 5/5 stars

The whole team at HomeBase is amazing!! Haley is very responsive with day-to-day questions. Raul has been amazing with step by step video tutorials! Phillip is a great resource also!! My job is much easier on the Property Management side with this team on the other end of the chat!

Unlocks my doors faster and easier than digging in my pocket fiddling with my keys. I wish the offices on sprint campus where i work used homebase. 

I’d like to have a call box or QR code or something to give to friends when they’re coming over, that would be cool.
