Every minute is the longest setting and is too frequent for a lot of uses. ### 2/5 — Painfully Slow and Useless Popup *2025-12-31, version 2.5* I bought HomeCam hoping to create a shortcut to view a specific camera quickly. Unfortunately, it’s painfully slow to connect, often taking longer than just opening the Apple Home app. On top of that, the feed doesn’t display full screen; it’s just a tiny pop-up on your screen, which is even more disappointing. Setup was straightforward, but the performance and usability make it a waste of money. ### 4/5 — Solid app but lacks a few quality of life features *2025-11-02, version 2.5* This app gets a lot of things right, out of the gate. But it feels a bit like it did that and got the recognition on some big website names, and then hasn’t kept up with modern features of the last few years. Why do we not have lock screen icons or control center icons to quickly launch the app from either of those 2 places? And why no widgets? Also, you offer dark. mode icons on iPhone and iPad but macOS now has dark mode icons in Tahoe 26 but your icon is still a bright yellow icon in dark mode and could use a dark mode icon badly. :) Would love if you push a few of these features in for those of us that would use them. I like to have the audio in the background at a low volume while I use my Mac for other things, but the camera background noise is deafening because the cameras are either completely muted or full volume along with whatever else I am doing on my Mac. Really limits usefulness of the app. ### 3/5 — Great App, But Needs PiP and Audio Mute Options *2025-02-18* The app is good, but it should include a picture-in-picture view for a single camera and an option to mute the audio stream. **Developer response:** Hi, Simply tap the speaker icon to mute the audio. Hopefully a new widget could at least display a recent snapshot if not a live feed. Original review: iOS 18 took away some of the widgets when swiping to the left of the lockscreen or homescreen. I used to have homecam here. It is probably the name of the app which confused me and the internet search. It’s called live monitor. It is available for Mac, iPhone, iPad and even Apple Watch and just works perfectly. It works perfectly on my MacBook, iPad, iPhone, Apple TV and even my Apple Watch. I understand it works well if you have cameras from multiple manufacturers. The real-time live view is really welcome - I still don’t understand why Apple don’t offer that. ### 5/5 — Perfect Apple TV app for HomeKit cams *2025-01-19* I'm using this for my Eufy and Nest cam that I connected via Homebridge. I love the autocycle feature to keep track of the kids in different parts of the house without yelling. I know there's a auto reconnect feature but I wish I could manually reconnect also without closing and reopening the app. I also wish we could have some custom features like zooming in. I have two requests which I hope the developer may consider. #1 Auto Scroll, add option for five seconds viewing for quicker scanning of all cams. #2 Ability to hide all overview icons, except live view indicator.
