What's New in homecrate
1.15
August 28, 2026
New in 1.15: stream your visuals to a projector, MIDI plugins that play your tracks, and a tuning library with 50+ tunings including pedal steel, lap steel, and bass. Free. VISUAL STREAM Send your camera and effects to a big screen. Tap the wifi button, scan a QR code, and the fully effected render lands in a Visuals window on your Mac: fullscreen for projectors, with rotate, mirror, fit/fill, zoom, and pan. What you see is what they see, edge to edge. More than one phone can stream at once, each getting its own tile sized to its shape. Performer mode folds the UI away and suspends on-device preview, so the phone runs cooler while the companion carries the show. Needs the free Companion App. AUv3 MIDI GENERATORS Chord, arpeggiator, and sequencer plugins now play your tracks. A generator on one track can drive the instrument on another. Split one plugin across several tracks by channel: bass on 1, keys on 2, pads on 3, each with its own instrument, effects, fader, and pan. This used to mean running a second host app. Generated MIDI can leave the app to your hardware too, and you can send MIDI into a plugin and chain them. Arm a track and record what the plugin plays as an ordinary editable clip. TUNER: PRESETS, BASS, AND STEEL Over 50 established tunings, free for everyone. Standards, drops, opens, modal, lap steel, pedal steel, bass, and an Artist section. Tunings know their instrument: Guitar 6/7/8, Bass 4/5, Lap steel 6/8/10, Pedal steel E9/C6. Bass players can finally tune their low strings. Detection now tracks past a 5-string's low B. The steel library is validated against John Ely's tunings master list and the Papa Dafoe database: Jerry Byrd's C6/A7 and B11, Don Helms and Jules Ah See B11s, Junior Brown's C13, Darick Campbell's sacred steel E6, Sol Hoopii's C#m7, and the 12-string E9/B6 Universal. DAW MIRROR A new video layer that captures the device's actual screen and composites it into your video chain: plugin editors, modals, overlays, all of it. Record tutorials on device with no desktop. Screen recording only starts when you tap Grant Screen Capture, and the grant holds for the session. MIDI RIG SWITCHING Every effect layer has an eye to show or hide it. Long-press an eye to assign a MIDI control to that layer's visibility, or long-press any preset to assign a control that recalls it. One pad can hold several assignments and fire them together, so your pedalboard drives complete scene flips mid-performance. DUAL CAMERA AND CANVAS Effects now compose over the combined front-and-back frame. Shaders, shields, the stream, and the recording all treat the two-camera stack as one canvas. The visible crop of your preview is now the absolute edge of that canvas in every mode, so CRT bezels and vignettes hug the visible frame instead of a hidden sensor edge. Fixed the rear camera rendering upside down, a crash enabling dual cam with effects on, and a freeze turning it back off. PERFORMANCE The amp's fast path now applies to amps restored from a saved session, not just freshly added ones. The idle gate recognizes high-gain captures whose modeled noise never goes fully silent, so they stop processing when you stop playing. Screen capture was rebuilt to stay off the CPU, fixing device heating with DAW Mirror active. FIXES Monitoring no longer goes silent when arming a track then starting playback. MIDI recording no longer drops notes when a part repeats the same pitch with overlapping gates. Silenced tracks no longer return at full volume when starting a Screen+Cam or camera recording, and Screen+Cam mic capture is a setting now instead of permanently on. Fixed Drafts getting reordered when opened. Fixed a crash pasting certain published ISF shaders. Camera rotation fixes on iPad.
