It says to download the pattern, but doesn’t download. Please fix this. I have tried on apple and android and the issue is the same. You keep adding new patterns, but they can’t be used. This is very disappointing for the money we pay for it. It is supposed to be relaxing, but it is frustrating. ### 2/5 — Buggy App *2026-01-25, version 1.6.5* I got a sand tray for Christmas and I’ve been struggling with the app. When I create a playlist it won’t download all the images I want to include, if I try to download them individually it says they downloaded but remain grey in the lists… and it never shows what playlist I am watching, it always says demo… and it reverts settings to increase the sound volume (though there’s nothing playing) and the brightness of the light on its own. I’ve downloaded the app on multiple devices and still have the same issue. I’ve emailed customer service multiple times and no one responds. ### 2/5 — Needs fixing *2026-01-16, version 1.6.5* I love my drift table. The app has some major glitches. I try to download new patterns and it will say download 100% complete, but then when I click on it again it asks me to download the pattern. I’m stuck in a loop. I’ve tried everything from uninstalling the app. Resetting. Disconnecting the table and reconnecting to Wi-Fi. I have 80 patterns downloaded so far and there are well over 250+ available that I have yet to enjoy. Please fix. ### 1/5 — Great product, app makes it useless *2025-12-26, version 1.6.5* I WANT to like this. I got it as a gift and it worked when I set it up. 30 minutes later, the app doesn’t work. I can turn it on and off, but that’s about it. All of the items and icons on the main app page don’t show up. It concerns me that this is basic stuff and the app hasn’t been updated in so long. It seems like the Drift product line is being abandoned. Maybe they will update the app in the future but before I buy this again (I’m having the gift giver return it), I would check the reviews to make sure all of these basic bugs have been worked out. Support answers and they say they are working on it, known issue from the week before you got it. At this point, you should probably pull your product from the shelves, shut and chain the doors. My son has one of these and I so want it to work. It is not worth buying ANY of the drift devices because of how bad the app is. You can basically only run the demo, so forget trying to create your own playlist. God forbid you move this to a different room, because if you happened to get lucky and get the app to work, it won’t ever work for you again. It constantly has issues downloading new patterns and deletes patterns with no warning or explanation. It requires constant reset and when that doesn’t work, the whole device needs a factory reset. I’ve had the Drift for 2 days and have factory reset 5 times. We have full WiFi and phone service and when trying to download several patterns at once it just stops in the middle and says to make sure we have WiFi and it never even disconnected or went out. If we try to download a pattern by itself a screen shows that it’s downloading, gets past 45% then closes and the pattern stays grayed as if we never downloaded it, just to find out we have to COMPLETELY exit the app and reopen it after ever SINGLE (ONE) pattern we download because that is the only way it shows up. I received my first 11 inch home medics Zen last Christmas shortly after I received it, it didn’t work. They replaced it immediately with a brand new one which worked beautifully and then developed a few software glitches, I called them. They reset and updated everything and it’s been working absolutely beautifully since then. Customer service is phenomenal! And the product is even better! Their hard work and stick-to-itiveness really paid off. I feel bad that so many made such bad reviews. This company worked with me and that in itself is exemplary! I guess it makes sense, when you think about, most people are just not used to this kind of customer service and therefore dont’t even reach out and try. (Possibly fixed now) *2025-03-24, version 1.6.2* UPDATE: As of the most recent update everything seems to be working!! No issues at all so far and it’s working amazing!!! Going to change to 3 stars… if bugs are permanently gone and all is good I will update to 5 stars in a month. So I received this nifty little sand table as a gift in Christmas 2024. I am very tech savvy and have been wanting a sand table for a while. After unboxing the table I got everything setup, plugged in and scanned the QR code to “download the app” and was immediately greeting with an error page. (QR code in box was broken). No big deal I jumped into the iOS App Store and searched for “Homedics drift” and seen two options by the same developer “HoMedics Drift” and “HoMedics Drift WiFi) I clicked on the first one as it had a slightly better review rating in the App Store (3 stars vs 1.5 stars) In the first app it found my HoMedics Drift table via Bluetooth but failed to connect over and over. After much frustration of trying to get it to connect I decided to read the app reviews and apparently the “WiFi” version of the app must be used with certain sand tables. Very annoying after the app “found” the Bluetooth in my sand table but apparently isn’t compatible with their own app? Ok fine so I went and downloaded the 1.5 star review “HoMedics Drift (WiFi)” app. After downloading I was actually able to get it to connect right away and perform a software update on the sand table. Now at first everything seemed to work great - I changed the lighting colors, selected a pattern and it went on doing it’s art .. perfect! Now the bad - the following day I went to go back into the app and it logged me out (which I have now found happens literally every time you close out of the app) - you must put in your username and password every time to go into the app … annoying but go go autofill user/pw. Now the app itself is extremely buggy - to name a few: - After manually selecting a pattern to make it will very often make some random pattern you didn’t select - Schedules simply does work. Schedules gives an option to “stop and start” at different times of day or selected days (so it’s not running patterns 24/7). This option simply does not work. You select the time/day schedule, hit save, it says successfully saved, then you go back in to your schedule and it’s back defaulted to 24/7 with no schedule saved. Mutiple app reviews have confirmed this problem. - Handy feature “pause for x time after finished pattern” doesn’t work. This feature would be great if it actually worked. It theoretically would allow you to pick an amount of time to stop after finishing a pattern - say 2 hours - before going on to the next pattern in your rotation… but this feature doesn’t work no matter what. - I could continue on but for the company to literally say “Easy and stress free setup” is straight nonsense. PROS: When you finally get a pattern to start that you want the sand table works amazing! There is a lot of potential but the HUGE letdown is the app … which unfortunately the app is the only control you have for the table … if it doesn’t work the table doesn’t work ### 3/5 — App freezes *2024-09-25* App freezes after a few download and it doesn’t restart/reset after force close. Sometimes the app connects to the device but cannot start a pattern or change colors. Sometimes the app just doesn’t connect. Homedics needs to get these issues fixed because when everything works just right it’s a great device.
