HomeLink® is a piss poor failed technology that has  added to the cost of the car, and few people have successfully programmed it to their garage door.  I think every car owner that has this technology in their vehicle and cannot pair it to their new garage door opener should sue the company.  I have worked with luxury autos for over 25 years and almost every one of them has a garage door opener on their visor.

the only instruction the app shows is "press and hold bluetooth button for 5 seconds"... nothing else. that's not helpful

This maybe helpful if you need to refresh your memory on how to program your opener, but this app has no functionality, useless.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. We'd like to note that the HomeLink Connect app does indeed help with training your in-vehicle HomeLink buttons, but for vehicles with Bluetooth-enabled HomeLink, it can also allow you allow you to control smart home devices from your vehicle. Those same HomeLink buttons can then turn on lights, set your thermostat, toggle outlets and more.

Just gives you the same instructions as online or my car manual.  Found out I would have to buy a new transmitter to make it work after calling in and performing the same steps I had already tried 8 times.

Home link is the brand of connection between a garage door remote and the opener. This app won't let you open your garage door. Misleading.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback.  HomeLink Connect is a companion App for HomeLink, and it relies on an accompanying vehicle-integrated HomeLink.  The HomeLink Connect App provides guidance on how to program your HomeLink, and it also adds Smart Home functionality in the case of a Bluetooth capable HomeLink.

Garage door opens at all hours with no intervention by the user.  Found my garage door opened at 1am!  Had to delete the app to stop that from happening.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. A quick note, the HomeLink app is unable to open garage doors. Only HomeLink in the vehicle can do that when it is programmed and the button is pressed.

Super easy to pair garage doors with built in car mirror buttons. There was probably some update because last time I had to press the actual motor buttons but this time just the actual remote worked. Simple and straightforward app with a nice design.

the app lets me trigger smart home scenes in alexa when I push a homelink button in my car, so I have Alexa announcing when I arrive, my family loves it 😉
