### 4/5 — Great app

*2026-06-14, version 5.1.0*

Perfect App for Managing HomeBridge while away from the computer or home!

### 2/5 — I don’t like the update

*2026-06-10, version 5.0.6*

I paid the additional one time lifetime license fee, but I’m not sure why I did and what I got for it. The app is riddled with “coming soon” screens (just hide them!) and workflows that take longer than before, like updating a plugin now makes me click skip on creating a backup which is a “coming soon” feature… what kind of user experience is that. And for the life of me I can’t find my pairing code anywhere. Why did you make it so much harder to find? And now after updating a plugin it doesn’t offer to restart just that child bridge it restarts the whole thing? Why so many steps backward. Strange

### 2/5 — Pro gekauft zwecks Updates zu installieren

*2026-04-14, version 5.0.4*

### 3/5 — It’s all pretty and modern look… at what cost?

*2026-04-06, version 5.0.4*

Decided to change my harsh review.
I don’t like the fact that I have issues with the app working and am greeted with Purchasing plans first thing I login.
However this seems to be the Norma now….

### 4/5 — Hero to zero. Another app taken by subscription.

*2026-03-30, version 5.0.2*

I’ve been using Homemanager for a number of years and it’s been a useful front end for the home bridge service. Auto updated today and now what was previously a free service is now subscription. Sadly like many people I’m sure this is yet another sub too far. Thanks for the excellent product previously offered.

### 3/5 — Works okay…

*2026-01-23, version 4.1.7*

The app mostly does what it promises to do.
Providing regular backups is a nice feature.
Issues:
- The temperature of my Raspberry Pi is shown in Fahrenheit even though it’s configured to show Celsius.
- The app shows the status of my Homebridge as unknown even though the bridge is fine.
Suggestion: Showing graphs of the main parameters as they appear in the web interface would be nice.

### 4/5 — Excellent application

*2025-07-27, version 4.1.7*

### 4/5 — Please add HOOBS Pro icon!

*2024-04-30, version 4.1.5*

This app has been great for managing my HOOBS Pro device! I would like to see some UI tweaks (it can get a bit confusing tabbing between plugins, bridges, and the main interface as they are all extremely alike) - perhaps a cleaner navigation or breadcrumb feature would be helpful.

Also, I still don’t see the HOOBS Pro icon as an option for the server, only the outdated HOOBS Box. Please add the HOOBS Pro icon so it can accurately reflect my device! (I’m a bit OCD about this stuff haha).

Can’t wait to see what HomeManager 5 is like - is there a Beta I can participate in on TestFlight? If so, please let me sign up, I do beta testing for a number of apps (I work as DevOps for a tech startup).

Keep up the great work!

### 5/5 — Really Useful HomeBridge Manager

*2024-01-09, version 4.1.1*

Excellent app for managing & updating your HomeBridge setup.

### 5/5 — Great companion app

*2023-06-21, version 4.1.1*

I have now been using this app for about 6-7 months and it had been completed rock solid and bug free. I would recommend this app to anyone that has a home bridge instance. My one complaint is the licensing tiers; i don't mind paying for the software because I know it works great but I purchased what I thought was the pro tier but I guess was the middle one. I love this app!!!

### 5/5 — Seit Jahren Top

*2023-03-20, version 4.1.1*

5 Sterne, wohl verdient!

### 4/5 — Works well but has a very weird bug

*2023-03-16, version 4.1.1*

This app is great for viewing the overall status of Homebridge, but it seems to have a bug related to how it utilizes ports to talk over the network. If you do too many things at once, everything network-related starts to fail, including webpages in Safari and connecting to Homebridge devices over the Home app (even though it works on other devices!)

Only a iOS restart fixes the networking, and even then Home.app doesn’t fully work for a little while.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — might as well use web app

*2026-05-14, version 5.0.6*

new UI is borderline unusable. i tried to get used to it, but just can't. i'll just use the web app going forward.

### 1/5 — What happened

*2026-05-14, version 5.0.6*

Used to be a good app now it has a worst UI which list 97% off my devices as unknown and in order to use this worst interface they want me to buy a new pro license because the one I bought for the version of the app I liked won’t count for this update I did not ask for. That’s fine I’ll just make my own or find another, way to disgruntle long-term loyal users. Should have made it a separate "updated v5" app or at least left the pro licenses alone.

They responded saying I could restore the license but that’s what I have done they call it legacy and expect another $3 for an upgrade to use a worst app I didn’t ask to change which I already paid for a lifetime one-time license to. The wording they use doesn’t even make sense. In order to continue providing “one-time” licenses they need all existing “one-time” licenses to pay an upgrade fee lol. You’re not offering a one-time license in either of those cases.

Responded again with the same none-sense saying the cost is for maintaining support when none of the complaints about changes I have involve work to maintain the basic homebridge plugin management and dashboard functionality. I have made several plugins and my local instance is deployed from a self hosted gitea instance that forks and rebases updates from the official with my own changes applied on top so trust me when I say that’s a load of manure to justify it, but all my complaints pertain to app features and changes; not requested by, but forced upon customers who didn’t ask for them with a fresh price while killing the existing lifetime app we actually paid for. Review stands, so does my opinion and nothing will change that aside from retaining the original app as a legacy app and making this a new separate version like proper developers would.

Once more people update their apps I’m sure you’ll see more reviews like this popping up. If I could leave 0 or less stars I would.

**Developer response:** Hi,

we are sorry that you are not happy with the update.

Please try to restore your previous license, go to the license page, top right menu, restore license. Sometimes the license get not restored automatically.
All your previously bought features remain available without any additional cost. Only new features of v5 that haven’t been there and took more time to develop, will be available after a small update fee for around 2-3 dollars (depending on the country you live in)

Regarding your bugs / criticism about the UI, we would love to hear more from you by email (support@homemanager-app.de). This is the only way we can try to solve your issues / fix the bugs and try to improve the user experience for you.

Best Regards,
Hannes/Ron

### 1/5 — Half baked

*2026-04-02, version 5.0.4*

3/4 of my plugins don’t load here in the new version. Worked reliably in the old one. So feature reversion. Wants to charge for this update. Nope. App is basically useless now.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2026-03-15, version 4.1.7*

And no update on the horizon. Take your money but won’t update

### 1/5 — Wow

*2024-11-25, version 4.1.6*

This along and the other programs don’t work worth a s—t bro! Why all the headache installing it? Upset me so bad I was gonna dump Apple too.. punched 1000 holes in my brand new windows pro system..

### 1/5 — Removed from Testflight for no reason

*2024-04-25, version 4.1.5*

Thanks. This is for you.

### 1/5 — Waste of Money for Hoobs Users

*2023-01-23, version 4.1.1*

Pretty much a worse version of Hoobs. For PC/Mac you have your app. For iOS just search your IP address of your hoobs hub in safari, add that to homepage and boom. Hoobs App for iPhone that does exactly the same thing as home manager except free. Don’t be fooled like I almost was

### 1/5 — Won’t work with fresh HOOBS 4 install

*2023-01-09, version 4.1.1*

Does not connect automatically or manually

### 1/5 — Updates!? Once a year (month)?

*2022-12-29, version 4.1.1*

Where is the widget!?!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — One of the best solutions!

*2026-04-27, version 5.0.5*

Easily one of the best Homebridge solutions available. While it’s excellent, adding support for macOS, watchOS and iPadOS would be a huge step forward. I’d also love to see a dedicated accessories control page and the ability to create groups, similar to the functionality in the Home Assistant app!

### 5/5 — Вайбовое управление HomeBridge

*2026-01-13, version 4.1.7*

### 5/5 — Top App

*2025-05-02, version 4.1.7*

Also liebe Entwickler, macht weiter so.

### 5/5 — Node update support

*2025-02-11*

It would be great to be able to update the node from here as well as the other features we have

### 5/5 — Simply amazing

*2025-01-09, version 4.1.6*

Simple, efficient and on the mobile. Keeps things in view without needed to access the main computer.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2024-12-09, version 4.1.6*

Works great

### 5/5 — Highly Recommended

*2024-06-08, version 4.1.5*

I’ve been using this for years. It’s highly effective at managing your HomeKit/homebridge network.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app for managing homebridge

*2024-03-20, version 4.1.1*

Fantastic app for managing my homebridge setup on a Raspberry Pi.

### 5/5 — Perfect for Homebridge

*2024-02-14, version 4.1.1*

This app allows me to perform all homebridge tasks running on a Raspberry pi. I can also connect remotely using Tailscale thanks to the Apple TV app. Perfect, runs without fault and has a nice UI. Worth the one-off price. Thanks for developing.

### 5/5 — Perfect HomeBridge Companion app!

*2024-01-10, version 4.1.1*

Love the option to try with free trial, then a one time free licence instead of a monthly subscription. Super easy for quick updates and config changes instead of going to the HB web UI on mobile. Keep up the great work!
