And you can use the wallpaper for anything on your iPhone, it isn’t limited to the Home app. It also has a feature to make wallpaper for iPads, but that feature doesn’t work for me. I’ve tried it on my iPhone and my iPad and I get the same result. So if you need wallpaper for your iPhone Home app (or anything on iPhone really) this app is for you. If you need wallpaper for your iPad, this app is not for you. But it’s definitely worth the money. The fact that it doesn’t work on iPad is the reason it’s getting four stars and not five. ### 4/5 — Gute App, fairer Preis, kleine Bugs *2021-10-08* Eins App die auf das nötigste reduziert ist. Had to ask people on Reddit for help with this in the past and now this I can do on my own. The only thing I’d ask for, which another reviewer mentioned, is to have the ability to resize and move the pic around (similar to how you’d do for Memoji or other picture applications). Sometimes the import feature makes the picture tiny in the upper right corner, even if the pic is a huge resolution. Sometimes it cuts off what you want to see. If we had the option to move it around on the x and y axis, to get the position where we want. And then also to zoom in and out to make it larger or smaller. This way I can make cool looking customizable wallpapers for the Home app. The price for unlock is great as you can try before you buy. Also it’s not expensive. You can change gradient! *2021-04-15* I reviewed this app earlier; very much liking the idea but unhappy with the amount of gradient which gave harder edges to my image. This latest update has a slider which enables you to select just the amount and type of gradient you want for each image. Now it’s just perfect! You can choose any variety of duo colour and any amount of gradient. The results are really lovely - a hint of an image with a pleasing and non-distracting background against which app icons are clearly visible. Great job! For example I exported images for my rooms but forgot to export them for iPad. Since I took the photos within the app, I cannot recreate the same images anymore. Lovely UI, simple UX, and even Unsplash Integration, a lot of thought and care has gone into this little app. Thank you to the developer for the new tool for editing your gradient style! the UI spot on and easy to use 🙌🏻 Some things I would like to see in future updates... Improved Live Photo handling as sometimes it doesn’t generate an iPad version. The ability to export in a size to support the Mac version of the Home app (iPad versions are just too big). Only one export before you have to pay. **Developer response:** Hi, HomePaper uses Apple provided API that only provides access to selected photos. This method as sanctioned by Apple does not require permission due to how it functions. Many apps use this same method as it is the new default as of recent iOS versions. In terms of one export before paying, I feel this is fair to give you a chance before paying for the app. ### 1/5 — Really? *2021-12-19, version 1.1.1* One export, useless ### 1/5 — One??? *2021-04-14* Only one export for free? The one export is to try the app, then I charge for more so that I can continue working on the app into the future. Several thousand people have been quite happy to pay the very low price (the lowest I can charge on the App Store) and have reviewed the app well. This is why it may not always look correct. - Aaron ### 3/5 — Needs Better Configs & UI *2021-07-08* This is a great start, but it needs improvements. 1. Allow us to scale and flip the images in the background of the app 2. The fade settings could have a little bit more wiggle room and maybe allow to move it slightly around instead of being completely fixed 3. Choosing colors, blocks most of the screen so you can’t easily test out colours. Instead shrink the preview to about 70% and align it to the top in center, and below in the other 30% of the screen, compact the color-spectrum picker. Add the saved swatches to another tab (first in that set). Other than that, it would be perfect if it had these changes. I just bought the unlimited exports, hope that helps with development. **Developer response:** Hi, Thanks for your kind review and suggestions. 1. I’ve got an update coming for scaling and positioning images. It’s waiting for review now. I’ll note down your suggestion of being able to flip them as well. 2. This same upcoming update will let you adjust the size of the masked area. This should help you out. 3. The colour picker is the default Apple colour picker so there is a limited amount of adjustments or sizing changes I can make sadly. I may look into a custom picker in the future if it can be justified in development time. Alles soweit i.O. Einziger Kritikpunkt: auch wenn die Transparenz des Hintergrundes anpassbar ist hat dies keinen Einfluss auf die Sichtbarkeit des Hintergrundfotos. Das ist immer nur in einem sehr kleinen Bereich oben rechts erkennbar. Das wünsche ich mir verbessert! **Developer response:** Hi, The latest update (1.0.3) will improve image visibility and other future updates will offer more options that will help more. - Aaron ### 3/5 — Idee nicht schlecht aber der Preis... *2021-04-08* Ich habe eigentlich kein Problem für Software auch etwas zu zahlen aber in diesem Fall bin ich wirklich etwas unentschlossen wie ich die Preispolitik finden soll. Natürlich lässt sich hier ganz einfach und ohne jegliche Kentnis ein Hintergrundbild für die Zimmer aus Homekit erstellen und die Umsetzung ist auch gelungen, aber am Ende nutzt man so eine Anwendung wohl eher selten. Da würde ich es begrüßen, wenn man optional zum Kauf sich auch Werbung ansehen könnte um dann das Bild zu exportieren. Ich glaube für diese App hätte da der Entwickler am Ende auch mehr davon, da es langfristig immer wieder ein paar Euros geben würde aus den Affiliate Programmen. Ich werde meine Hintergründe weiter mit einer Bildbearbeitung erstellen. Da gibt es auch kostenfreie Onlinedienste oder Lösungen wie GIMP. Oder man kann sich vielleicht auch ein Muster in Pages erstellen und das Ergebnis als Bild sichern. Wer es bequem mag und schlicht, der ist hier aber am Ende sicher richtig. **Developer response:** Hi, Thanks for the review. I have to disagree on the ads front. Ads are not a viable business model for this app long term in terms of continued development. In app purchase is a reasonable price for what it does. Developer is responsive to feedback. Fixed a bug within a day of providing feedback. What’s crazy is that it does this in mere seconds per room. You will spend more time looking for the right photo then you will getting it ready to incorporate.
