I do wish it had: - dark mode - a way to manage paint colors per room beyond just adding a note ### 3/5 — Does what it says *2025-11-12* Helps you take inventory of your home and round up your receipts and instruction manuals, etc. Beautiful, organized interface. It does have a subscription based model and wants to use AI for almost everything related to maintenance. Looking at it, it isn’t for me. I would rather use excel spreadsheets and keep my instructions and receipts myself in the cloud in folders, so I don’t have to worry about doing all this work and then potentially losing the data due to business issues. ### 5/5 — Great app for organizing *2024-11-28, version 3.6.0* Having bought a new house I really appreciate having documented everything in the old house in Homer. The ability to easily add a variety of media to your inventory items is so awesome, and it’ll even search the web for manuals after you add the make and model. Their customer support is excellent, you can message them in-app about bugs and feature requests (not sure if there’s a tech team or if it’s the developer) and they are helpful, respectful, and open to suggestions. They seem to be adding new features often and always trying to improve based on user feedback, which is awesome. Homer is like a Swiss army knife with many options to access in a single environment all the information you need to have under control: relevant data, documents, plans, invoices, notes, dates, inventory, tasks, folders... and with labels to be able to link everything with everything. If I would add something in future versions it would be the possibility of being able to personalize the start view to the user's taste with shortcuts to the content that interests them most (documents, photographs, notes, invoices...). And if later they dare to incorporate Spanish as a language, it would already be outstanding. Barely 5 mins into using it, it froze completely on my iPhone XS Max. So, I forced it to quit and started again. I entered all the info about my freezer when it froze up again. After 5 mins it still wasn’t responding so I had to force it to quit again. On reloading, all the info I’d entered was gone. I’ve deleted it. I cannot recommend this app at all. Homer has been different. When my water heater broke, I pulled up Homer. In about ten seconds I had the model number, manual, install date, and all the info my plumber needed to fix it. Before Homer I would have had to dig through a file cabinet, where I probably would’ve never found the papers I needed. This can do it. *2025-06-20* I’ve been using Homer for a while now and it really is an incredible app. When loading items to your “home” with a click of your camera, it uses a combination of search engines and AI to identify that item and fill in all of the hard to find information; as they say automagically. I’m not new to the home inventory app field and this app can find product information in about 1 minute that some others have been (currently) trying to find for 2 weeks now. I’ve used their customer support chat feature a couple times when I had questions. I’ve also used the AI bot and both are extremely helpful.
