Downloading current issue was much easier and quicker than in previous issues. I haven't tried to download older issues so can't comment. I read the magazine and use the App, well worth the subscription. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Avoid! *2020-05-31, version 7.1.0* To avoid frustration avoid this app! I paid a yearly subscription and what a waste of money. The whole idea was to be able to use it on my iPad and I cannot view it at all. Crashes all the time to the point I have to restart my device and on top of that I cannot view the issues I’ve paid for as it does not recognise my Apple ID while I’m clearly signed up if I am writing this review, am I? Technical support ignores my emails and I am stuck and paying for nothing. DON’T DOWNLOAD! ### 1/5 — Unbearable *2018-09-15, version 7.0.0* Every month I've had this app there has been an issue! Not being able to gain access to the app, the app crashing after a couple of pages and many emails and calls to resolve the issues. I think I just skip the app next time and buy the hard copy if at all! ### 1/5 — Latest update has blocked my access to my subscription *2017-11-24, version 6.0.0* The latest update to this app has locked me out of my subscription so I cannot access any of the magazines I have already purchased. The ‘contact us’ link is the same as the ‘feedback’ link so no idea if I will get a reply or any help! ### 1/5 — Half a mag *2016-10-15, version 5.1.0* Please be careful when using these apps. You pay full price for the magazine but you are only allowed to view one single page at a time, no double page spreads. Apparently you have to take out a subscription before you are allowed the privilege of viewing a double page spread. Bizarre, yes , frustrating, yes. Once they have your yearly/monthly subscription fee, it's too late, no service. If I could even sign in without it continually saying my email address (which I've had for 6 years) didn't exist I would be marginally happy. Takes eons to get through to itunes. Will not be purchasing through itunes again. ### 1/5 — Poor *2014-12-23, version 4.3* After being a regular reader of the magazine for as long as I can remember, I succumbed to the iPad version after mistakenly thinking I could sign up and get the first copy free to try it! When I subscribed I wasn't automatically given a free month and I was charged from day one, but I could live with that. The Dec issue was great and I thought I had the answer to the problem of storing recipes. Well, after downloading Jan I could no longer access Dec yet I had paid for both! Sorry but this has tested me to the limit and well beyond the normal effort required to read a magazine. I'm cancelling March unless I get a fix for Dec. already the helpline doesn't recognise my subscriber number so no help coming my way yet! I don't recommend this version of H&G. ### 1/5 — Very disappointed *2013-08-31, version 3.6* The magazine has many good features. At least I think it has, but it is such a terrible app for me that I cannot read it. Downloading is terribly difficult and in this month's edition, even when it says it's downloaded it isn't. ### 1/5 — Not a very inspiring magazine *2013-05-03, version 3.4* Nothing wrong with the app but not much in this magazine that inspires and gives ideas! Such a change from the over-processed 'real estate' photography from across the pond. The editor and picture editor are to be commended.
