### 3/5 — Great App - Horrible Color and UI Scheme

*2022-06-11, version 1.1.13*

Homeseer is a great product - however this app needs a total overhaul. I really wish Homeseer would put some effort towards making their UI look professional. Solid red and green colors with a blinding white background went out of date many years ago.

### 2/5 — Devices don’t show up

*2020-08-18, version 1.1.11*

Only about 50% of my devices show up in the device list of the new app. The older hs3 app never had this problem.

Switches and virtual devices appear in the list, but door/ window sensors don’t appear. I ended up creating virtual devices that show their status. These sensors are Homeseer branded items too.

The camera / dvr service is anemic at best. The viewing space in the app is reduced by ptz controls that I don’t need. There’s no way to hide the ptz controls. The cloud recording service is useless.

### 2/5 — Good for only a few devices

*2019-09-27, version 1.1.7*

This app is miles ahead of hsbuddy, and even the HS3 app. The unfortunate thing is it some how doesn’t support a lot of devices. I probably have over 100 devices in my home and roughly about 8 show up in the app. Refresh after refresh and filter after filter and not one additional device shows up.

To be honest, Amazon echo does a better job at detecting devices with the plugin loaded in HomeSeer.

I’d like to see one decent app produced for this system. I always thought I would build out my own, but mobile phones screen sizes change so much that HS3 designer just can’t keep up or scale anything worth a crap.

I have some hope for this app, as long as they work this silly problem out.

### 1/5 — Complete garbage software

*2019-09-12, version 1.1.7*

I downloaded this app because it was required to activate my new HomeSeer WiFi cameras. It didn’t work, and after a week of going back and forth with Tech support inferring I was powering up the cameras wrong, I told them to try it for themselves. They said they would, and that’s the last I heard from them. They won’t even respond to emails now. The problems? The app doesn’t transfer your new password to the camera and then displayed two of my cameras with image from one. Don’t bother with this until they fix it.

### 3/5 — The app works, but it still needs more work.

*2019-08-28, version 1.1.7*

This software gets the job done, but it has very limited functionality. Seems like It’s still in Beta stage. Keep working on it, please.

### 1/5 — Backup Restore

*2019-08-25, version 1.1.7*

I have y devices in my home and I don’t have time to build for each one. I shouldn’t have to complain about this issue in today’s Home Automation market.

### 2/5 — Crashes often

*2019-05-09, version 1.1.5*

Some improvement but the “Confirm before control” option does not work.

Also, it would be nice if you could lockout editing with a password.

### 1/5 — What Happened?

*2019-04-01, version 1.1.4*

App worked a few days ago. Now I'm getting invalid URI error upon app opening. Luckily Google Assistant works 100% of the time. This app needs to go back to beta.

### 1/5 — Can’t Use It

*2019-03-20, version 1.1.4*

I ‘be been using the controller for years dependably. In last couple of months they made several changes and uploads, now I cannot use it, cannot even log into the account. I don’t want to spend hours again, figuring this out. They cannot tell the difference between a developer and user.

### 1/5 — Still flaky on iOS

*2019-03-13, version 1.1.4*

I downloaded the app from the Apple App Store and it gave me an update notice when I try to login. “System 98697 not compatible. Please update from 3.0.0.475 to 3.0.0.478 or newer.” I finally realized I needed to update my HomeTroller software. The app is still flaky on iOS and needs a lot of work.

### 1/5 — Half Developed

*2019-03-10, version 1.1.4*

The app is great in concept, but it’s nowhere near functional. Devices that show in the old app do not in this app, the filtering doesn’t work when trying to find devices and we cant share dashboards. Home deer is meant to automate and make life easier. When I install a system, I shouldn’t have to configure every mobile device individually. This was a major step backwards.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-03-10, version 1.1.4*

They took the one away that worked...and replaced with this garbage. Shame on you homeseer...been customer for 5 years...this is worst product failure I have ever seen. The whole point of home automation today is to be able to use mobile devices....did you even test this...someone needs to be fired

### 1/5 — “Unexpected error”

*2019-03-10, version 1.1.4*

DOES NOT WORK. Why take away the app that *worked* to replace it with one that doesn’t? Garbage.

### 2/5 — Unexpected Error even with latest HomeSeer Firmware

*2019-03-09, version 1.1.4*

None of my security systems touch a cloud system including this. I connect direct and have a valid certificate in use. Yet since day one I get “Unexpected Error. Please try again. An unexpected network error has occurred.”

It would be nice if these systems, solutions, and mobile apps were designed with enough intuitive responses to help us figure out our issues without us having to go google support pages for the buried answers to our problems. Giving a general error like the one above is pretty much useless to most people unless you have a doctorate in tech support.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No local connection on iOS 26

*2026-07-26, version 1.1.13*

The app for the iPhone has not been updated in 4 years. Not sure what the developers are thinking in this age of remote connection to manage home system.

### 1/5 — No local connection on iOS 26

*2026-02-07, version 1.1.13*

The app for the iPhone has not been updated in 3 years. Not sure what the developers are thinking in this age of remote connection to manage home system.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-03-24, version 1.1.13*

Can’t edit / save widgets on dashboard. The save button isn’t visible. Formatted for very old iPhones. No support, last update 2020. Now they demand $40 / yr support?

### 1/5 — Just about useless

*2022-10-21, version 1.1.13*

For years I’ve alway just used HSTouch and still do, but I wanted to give this a try. Marketing folks, show off beautiful displays of the apps capabilities. Must be the Android version, cause the iOS version is horrible. Completely unintuitive, documentation, if you can call it that, contains max 5 lines of text to add a device to the Dashboard. Buggy as a heck, select clear dashboard, select clear and nothing, all my devices are still there. Check out the change logs for the iOS version, hasn’t been touched in just over 2 years. Android had the last update 6 months ago. I love this company, but to put out such trash really tarnishes your image.

### 1/5 — What a mistake

*2021-11-26, version 1.1.12*

From website to app. Most difficult install ever and still not working.
App won’t accept password even after multiple resets.
Useless

### 1/5 — Widget and Dimmer Slider

*2020-11-10, version 1.1.12*

Dimmer sliders don’t work on widgets.

### 1/5 — iPhone good; iPad bad!

*2020-05-20, version 1.1.8*

Works great on my iPhone, but the control functions won’t work on my iPad.

In other words, on the iPad, it shows status, but no control function.

Bummer!

### 1/5 — Very buggy

*2020-03-03, version 1.1.8*

Works most of the time. Not all functions are passed through the widget, like the dimmer slider.

Okay experience but screenshots and what you can do are misleading

### 1/5 — Not working with 3.x anymore

*2020-03-01, version 1.1.8*

Since the latest update (Which did mention Having 4.x features but not that 4.x was needed) I have all sorts of problems: controls don’t display inside icons, response time is slow, status indicators aren’t accurate. Virtually useless now.

### 1/5 — Nickel and dime to death.

*2019-12-31, version 1.1.7*

When each plugin costs 60 dollars, it’s a waste of time. Build them in or I won’t give you another dime.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2021-06-17, version 1.1.12*

I use this every day on iPhone and iPad. Have a dashboard for security, for entertainment, for appliances, for often used, for battery status. It is nice that I am able to integrate my security cameras.

### 5/5 — Simple but great app

*2020-03-30, version 1.1.8*

This app is reliable and good improvement over the old one. The app is great because homeseer is so reliable

### 5/5 — Le meilleur

*2020-01-20, version 1.1.7*

### 5/5 — Homeseer the best in home automation.

*2019-02-20, version 1.1.4*

There are several home automation programs out but the most versatile is Homeseer 3pro. It may be the most expensive but with the addition of HS Mobile it is now very easy for anyone to control there home. Understand having some technical expertise helps when setting it up. But mobile makes it easy to use for anyone.

### 5/5 — Beginnings

*2019-02-10, version 1.0.2*

The guys still have some work to do, but they have a good start on a new approach to mobile. The software still feels like it’s in it beta stage to me.

### 5/5 — Fantastic HomeSeer interface

*2019-02-10, version 1.0.2*

I’ve been long time HomeSeer user. HsTouch was a tired user interface. I’d frankly used it only when necessary.

HomeSeer Mobile is a modern UI. It sets up easy and is very fast. Interestingly my Nest is easier and faster to control here than the Nest app.

The dashboard approach is a nice way to quickly organize rooms and or functions.

This is a great effort. Really added value and life to my HomeSeer investments. Really happy.

It be even better if I could sync dashboards from devices. But no dealbreaker. Just takes a little time to setup. Far less than HS3TOUCH designer!!! Now to delete that software.

Thanks HomeSeer team!

### 4/5 — It’s decent and generally works

*2021-02-16, version 1.1.12*

It’s a decent app. Yes there are many things that could be better. But it is simple enough and generally works. I don’t have the patience to buy and build the custom beautiful home screens the designer allows you to make. So this is a fair compromise. I’ll take function (HomeSeer system) over form compared to my dabbles with Vera, smart things, etc...

### 4/5 — Great start

*2019-07-10, version 1.1.5*

Great start. Easy to build a dashboard. Desperately need a method to backup or export a dashboard though. Better refresh when entering the app after it has been in the background could also use more work.

### 4/5 — This latest version has improved performance

*2019-04-11, version 1.1.5*

I miss HS3TOUCH since they started requiring a design license to use it but now that I have used the HomeSeer Mobile app for a bit it looks like I can still have good control of my devices running on my ZEE S2 controller.

The latest update from what I have seen so far makes the app perform much more smoothly. There is still a few seconds delay at times which I assume is the time it takes the command to get to HomeSeer server and return to the ZEE S2 but I haven’t seen any failure to respond like I did with previous version.

### 4/5 — Needs something extra.....

*2019-02-26*

Great app, gives full access to HomeSeer which has been a long time coming.

Now that you have spent the time to create this app can we see it refined so that the dashboards are a lot more user friendly and also add in the functionality so that this app with its dashboards can be used as a control hub for HomeSeer.

It would be great to see it as slick as ImperiHome and as easy to setup and use. An iPad on the wall with this app in full screen mode with some nice graphics and a cleaner layout would be the icing on the cake for HomeSeer and a long time coming. I know we have HSTouch, but that’s just hard work tbh.

It feels like the graphical design and ease of use was done by the developers instead of bribing in some artistic and creative help.

Maybe we could get a dedicated place in the forum for people to feed back their suggestions and develop the app a lot more to really make HomeSeer much more easy to interact with.

Keep up the good work.
