### 1/5 — Disorganized and likely a scam

*2025-05-20, version 3.5.4*

DO NOT RECOMMEND! I purchased 4 different policies with this company. I had a fridge attempted to be repaired and was told it needed to be replaced. I was supposed to be reimbursed up to $1000 but they changed that to $900. Now, over a month later, I have still not received any compensation. I have called at least 7 times and get promised a date I should have the money at the latest. And then it still doesn't show up. They all give me a different story and can't seem to ever "find" a supervisor when I ask for one.

### 1/5 — they tell me no account exists!! They cancelled my plan!!

*2024-12-13, version 3.5.2*

Home service canceled by repair and replace plan after being a customer for almost 3 years, this was done actually two times to me, I called to schedule them to come out for service and they told me no plan exist, I had paid every month for almost 3 years, I call for help and nobody will help me they just say I need to re-enroll again. I paid every month for well over two years and I spent all this money and now I have no coverage. i’m so disappointed and stressed out and nobody will help me.

### 1/5 — App developer reply to my complaints IS NOT acceptable!

*2024-10-23, version 3.5.1*

Why should I have to go online to manage my account when these issues with the app have NOT BEEN FIXED since it’s release. My online account has been active for years and it’s not perfect either!!! Canned responses are a waste of my time😡!

### 1/5 — Update does not fix login issues

*2024-10-14, version 3.5.1*

I even deleted the app and reloaded. It says oops logout.

### 1/5 — App Just Says Oops!

*2024-10-10, version 3.5*

With the latest October 2024 update the app simply now says “oops” whenever logging in. Something seems to be seriously awry.

### 1/5 — Can’t update lists

*2024-09-21, version 3.4*

I got a postcard telling me to download this app so I can ditch my junk drawer. Well, it doesn’t work: I can’t add a photo, create a new entry or create a new list. iOS 18

### 1/5 — What happened??

*2024-08-05, version 3.4*

I loved this app after downloading from a This Old House recommendation. I have all my house info loaded into app and it was “auto populated” with manuals, kept track of warranty info and my uploaded receipts.i have recommended to countless friends and they loved it as well.
Then, it ends, no way to enter new items thus making the entire usefulness of the app disappear! Not sure what this was about but it totally disappointing. Please reinstate previous version or launch as separate app. It was so good, would be willing to pay for original version.

### 1/5 — They just took out the best feature

*2024-07-13, version 3.4*

Can’t add items and store manuals anymore. I’ve recommended this appt I so many people for this feature! Now I won’t. Will be using another and transferring all my manuals.

### 2/5 — New items

*2024-07-12, version 3.4*

Why did you stop the ability to add new items into MyList?

### 1/5 — Can’t add items anymore

*2024-07-11, version 3.4*

It’s really nice of you to take away that feature after I spent so much time adding 167 items now I have to use something else. No warning or anything. Pretty crappy of you!!!

### 1/5 — Seriously? What happened?

*2024-07-08, version 3.4*

I downloaded this app a while back when I saw it featured on This Old House. I think it was free or maybe only a few bucks. I thought it was awesome! A great way to simplify all your home product information. And I was able to get rid of a huge stack of product manuals. Since we haven’t purchased anything significant in a while I haven’t used the app in a bit. But when we recently purchased a washer and dryer and I was looking forward to adding them to the app. I opened the app and discovered 2 new tabs for “plans”. Ok, I guess they offer repair service plans now? Then I tried to add my new washer and dryer. But there is no way to do that anymore! I assume you have to pay for a plan before you can add new item? Or maybe the app is just broken. Either way, it’s very disappointing and I’m sure This Old House would not recommend this app today.

### 1/5 — Update fail

*2024-07-06, version 3.4*

I can no longer add items in the app. What happened?

### 2/5 — I don’t see new diy features

*2024-05-28, version 3.3.3*

Received an email that implied the app update had some diy guidance for the water heater. When I followed the “open app” link I saw nothing new and no clue where to find the guidance.

### 2/5 — OVERCHARGING

*2024-01-17, version 3.3.3*

System update caused double billing and it appears there is trouble REFUNDING as well. This is a new company and hick ups happen but OVERCHARGING AND DOUBLE CHARGING is EXCESSIVE!!!!!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-11-04, version 3.3.3*

What exactly is the point of this app if all it does is direct you to go to the website?

Don’t you think that users are bright enough to do that on their own?

Here’s an idea: create an app to do things so that you do NOT have to go to the website.

### 1/5 — App needs work.

*2023-07-19, version 3.3.2*

Can’t access plan documents through the app.

### 1/5 — App won’t log in

*2023-07-02, version 3.3*

This used to be a great app but it has gone down hill since the update. It is. It as user friendly as it was originally.

Now, as I’d this review, the app won’t even log in into my account. It just shows the home symbol and pulses like it is trying to load but never does. So disappointed where this is now.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No longer useful

*2026-06-14, version 3.7.2*

When I first got this app many years ago, it was great to add appliances and other items. Years later, updating appliances, and I can no longer add new items. So tell me, what’s the point of this app? I’ve replaced most things on my list and I’m about to move. So, nothing will be the same. The way it was, I would have paid for that. Once I move I’ll be deleting my account since I can’t add anything at the new place.

### 1/5 — App is a waste of phone storage

*2026-05-24, version 3.6.8*

This app is pointless. It never pulls up and then if by some miracle something does pop up, it’s just to say oh you have to do this online. This is ridiculous. It says in the App Store it was updated 3 weeks ago. Really? Because it’s still not working right. Apps like this should provide information not frustration. I do not recommend

### 1/5 — Never really worked

*2026-05-03, version 3.6.8*

Now it’s doing an infinite Face ID login loop!

### 1/5 — Why have an app that sends you to the web

*2026-01-17, version 3.5.4*

This app is a complete waste of resources. You log into to app to do anything, especially a service request and it opens the web browser. And you will need to log in again. Once on the web site you think you would be able to request service there but it directs you to call. When you call, the operator directs you to the app.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work

*2026-01-02, version 3.5.4*

You cannot update your payment method on this thing then you call the customer service number and they don’t do it correctly.

### 1/5 — Slow and Clunky

*2025-12-04, version 3.5.4*

This app sucks. Complete waste of energy.

### 1/5 — The app does nothing

*2025-09-03, version 3.5.4*

For years, this app has had a request service button that leads you to a page displaying a 404 error. Why have an app at all? You can only make an appointment by calling them from their website, so why not list the number in the app or just abandon the useless app altogether?
I expect to see a standard reply beneath my review apologizing for my experience but to anticipate improvements to be made but I also suspect that nothing will change with this trainwreck of an app.

### 1/5 — Super slo o ow w w

*2025-08-06, version 3.5.4*

This app as well as their website is super slow!! I don’t think is worthy, I definitely won’t recommend

### 1/5 — App freezes

*2025-07-20, version 3.5.4*

You cannot select plan(s) or pay on this app. It freezes up & doesnt process

### 1/5 — Do not trust this company

*2025-07-03, version 3.5.4*

Paid for a policy for a year only to be given the runaround when I finally tried to make an appointment. When the repair guy came in he said my dryer wasn’t covered. They never asked for a make or model number but collected my money for a year. You get passed around on the phone and good luck asking to talk to a supervisor. I was even hung up on and no one called back. Stay away from this company.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best service ever

*2025-03-05, version 3.5.4*

I’ve had coverage for as long as this company has been in business, I can honestly say I’ve never had a problem with service, I’ve received prompt responses from them when I call, I have always been treated with respect whenever I make contact with the company, they have always gone out of their way to provide me with nothing but excellent service and I will remain a faithful customer for as long as I need coverage.

### 5/5 — Very Useful

*2021-02-18, version 1.6.0*

Started using this over last few days. I simply scanned model number of devices and every device was recognized and added.

Love all the details on each appliance from link to manual and manufacture details

Good useful application

### 5/5 — Incredible App

*2020-04-20, version 1.4.0*

I have never written a review before for an app, but this one is the exception. I love everything about this app. Snap a picture of a product label and it loads, manuals, warranty info, parts info, YouTube videos, etc. I even took a pic of my vehicle labels on the inside of the driver doors... yep!!! The app loaded my car info, manuals and all. It truly is a handy free app!!! It does a fantastic job. I was so impressed i posted about this on FaceBook a couple of weeks ago. One of the top 5 apps that i have on my phone and I can’t tell you want the other 4 are!!

### 5/5 — Good apps

*2020-04-05, version 1.4.0*

I need to know how to delete an item that no longer own or just want to remove from the list.

### 5/5 — I can manage my HomeServe Account!

*2020-02-27, version 1.4.0*

This new update allows me to manage my HomeServe account, right from my phone. It’s been a great additive because I don’t have to go to the HomeServe.com website. Instead, using the app, I can make a payment, view my plans or even buy an additional plan.

I had a few issues logging in but overall I am
happy with the update!

### 5/5 — Excellent service!!

*2019-10-19, version 1.3.0*

Homeserve completed a repair for my family. Fast and effectively. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Best app ever!

*2019-04-05, version 1.0*

Helps me organize all my documents and find parts I need! You can even find pros to perform repairs. There is nothing this app can’t find when you scan the barcode. Very impressed.

### 4/5 — Update problem

*2024-10-10, version 3.5*

After the update app crashes with message “Ooops logout”
Revised:
I deleted the app and reloaded it and it seems to work fine after that.

### 3/5 — Buggy app

*2025-06-28, version 3.5.4*

Like the website itself, the app is slow and super buggy. I added all three of my Home Serve deals, but had to log out and log back in each time in order to see said properties. And it’s slow loading. Convenient to have an app to track all of these plans, but I just don’t get why they can’t be merged into a single address, I would think you could do that under Manage Address section. Just because one address was capitalized and another had something else that didn’t quite match up identically to the others, but used the same email for all three plans, and yet still it lists them as separate addresses to manage. Weird.

### 3/5 — Used to be great

*2023-05-16, version 3.2*

This app was great BEFORE the update at least for organizing and keeping track of things around the house. I was hoping more would come of this (like they made it seem), but it never did. I have to send requests when stuff you’d think would populate from there “pertinent info” never does. Everything from the how-to videos to the manuals, and thankfully I didn’t get rid of those, to parts. I own some craftsman power equipment that has been listed in the app pretty much since new and the “pertinent info” it pulled was a warranty. No manuals or typical replacement parts like spark plugs, air filters, etc. for annual maintenance. Luckily I’ve been able to find stuff, but if you’re gonna have a parts section, why not at least list the typical things that wear out or require routine maintenance like spark plugs, belts, water/fuel/air/oil filters, batteries, and that goes for anything not just yard equipment. I haven’t used or bought any warranty services so maybe it’s good for that but the original appeal for me is gone.
