## What is Homeshelf?

Homeshelf is a fast, focused audiobook player for Audiobookshelf, the open-source audiobook server you host yourself.

Sign in to your own server and your whole library is ready to play: pick up exactly where you left off, on any device.

LISTENING
• Resume where you left off, synced with your server and your other apps
• Chapters: see every chapter, jump straight to one, time left in chapter and book
• Playback speed from 0.75× to 3×
• Skip back and forward 10–60 seconds, your choice
• Sleep timer, including "end of chapter", with a gentle fade-out
• Bookmarks that sync to your server
• Rewind a few seconds when you resume

IN THE CAR AND ON THE GO
• CarPlay: continue listening, recently added and your library on the car screen
• Download books for offline listening; your progress syncs when you're back online
• Lock screen, Control Center and AirPlay controls
• Home and lock screen widgets
• Apple Watch: control playback, or download books to the watch
• Siri: "Resume my audiobook in Homeshelf"

YOUR LIBRARY
• Continue Listening row and progress on every cover
• Search books, authors and series, or look a book up by ISBN
• Series view in reading order
• Sort by title, author, recently added or length

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Homeshelf only talks to the server you enter. No accounts with us, no analytics, no ads, no tracking.

Requires an Audiobookshelf server (audiobookshelf.org). Homeshelf is an independent app and is not affiliated with the Audiobookshelf project.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-30

• Never lose your place on a weak connection. Homeshelf now waits for audio to load instead of jumping back, and picks up on its own when your signal returns.
• Navigation prompts and Siri no longer rewind your book.
• Steering wheel and headphone back/forward buttons now skip 30 seconds instead of changing chapters, so a bumped button doesn't cost you minutes.
• Downloads wait for Wi-Fi by default to save your cellular data.
• Faster start when you press play, and snappier search.

### 1.0 — 2026-10-28
