## What is HomeSpare?

HomeSpare is a private household-parts workspace for knowing what fits, what is running low, and how long unused stock lasts. Save filter dimensions, bulb bases, battery equivalents, appliance part numbers, stock counts, costs, replacement schedules, and the notes that prevent a second trip.

BIN COVER

- Name COVER, SHORT, EMPTY, or SET INTERVAL from on-hand quantity, leftover days, and the replacement interval.
- See the empty date for each open spare.
- Copy the Bin Cover card from Today or More.
- Bin Cover does not buy parts or certify that stock will last.

SCAN THE PACKAGE BEFORE BUYING

- Photograph a package label or import an existing photo.
- Recognize printed text and supported barcodes on-device.
- Compare dimensions, MERV ratings, bulb shapes and bases, battery codes, styles, models, and part numbers with the spare you saved.
- Review matched, missing, and extra identifiers before purchase.
- Save a timestamped verification record without retaining the source photo.

PLAN A REAL SUPPLY RUN

- Forecast replacement demand across 7, 30, 90, or 365 days.
- Choose a lean, ready, or prepared reserve policy.
- Set an optional budget and see what fits, what is deferred, and which items still need a price.
- Prioritize out-of-stock and overdue parts before routine purchases.
- Confirm one batch stock update after the purchased parts are back home.

KEEP THE HOUSEHOLD HISTORY

- Search and sort the local parts library.
- Track stock, reorder thresholds, typical prices, and service intervals.
- Schedule optional local reminders.
- Log replacements and review monthly and category-level upkeep charts.
- Use the bundled offline reference for common filter, bulb, and battery conventions.

TAKE YOUR DATA WITH YOU

Share a supply run, export a spreadsheet-friendly CSV with the latest package-check result, or create a local backup that includes the library, replacement history, and verification history. No account or developer-operated server is required.

HomeSpare stores user-created records on the device. It includes no ads, tracking, third-party analytics, or account system. Label photos are analyzed on-device and are not retained by HomeSpare.

HomeSpare compares identifiers and names unused-stock days only. It cannot certify electrical rating, material, installation, manufacturer compatibility, or safe use. Always verify every size, rating, part number, compatibility requirement, and installation instruction against the equipment and manufacturer documentation.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.1 — 2026-08-28

Bin Cover is new in 3.1. It names whether unused stock plus the current leftover lasts a full replacement cycle: COVER, SHORT, EMPTY, or SET INTERVAL. Copy the card from Today or More.

Replacement Forecast, Package Lens, Supply Run, the local library, reminders, and backup stay on the device. HomeSpare still has no account, ads, or network service.

### 3.0 — 2026-08-26

HomeSpare 3.0 learns your home's rhythm:

- Replacement Forecast (new): from the replacements you've logged, HomeSpare learns each spare's real cadence - "every ~92 days, learned from 3 replacements" - and projects the next 90 days: what's likely due and roughly what it will cost. Spares with a set interval are projected too.
- Package Lens: point the camera (or a photo) at a package label and compare its text and supported barcodes against a saved spare, with a timestamped verification history.

Projections come from your own records - actual part life varies, and the due dates and reminders you set yourself are unchanged.

### 2.0 — 2026-08-08

Version 2.0 adds Supply Run Studio with deterministic demand horizons, reserve policies, optional budget allocation, purchase-priority lanes, confirmed batch stock updates, and an offline package-identifier Fit Check

This release also refreshes the native iPhone and iPad experience, accessibility, privacy boundaries, and App Store screenshots. There are no accounts, subscriptions, advertising, tracking, or developer-operated services.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-23

See your upkeep at a glance. The new Insights tab turns the replacements you log into a clear picture: a month-by-month chart, a breakdown by category, and a running total of what you have spent. Add a typical price to any spare and HomeSpare also estimates your yearly upkeep cost for the things you replace on a schedule.

Never miss a due date. Turn on reminders in Info and pick how far ahead you want a heads-up on each spare — a day, a week, two weeks, or a month before it is due. HomeSpare schedules a local notification so the furnace filter or smoke-alarm battery is on your radar before the deadline. Everything stays on your device.

Back up and move your data in one file. Save every spare, its cost, schedule, reminders, and your full replacement history to a single backup file you can keep, share, or restore later — handy for switching phones or just keeping a safety copy. The CSV export now includes a unit-cost column too.

Still completely offline and private: no account, no ads, no tracking, and no network calls.

### 1.2 — 2026-06-17

What's New - HomeSpare 1.2

HomeSpare now does the thing its name promises: know the exact spare, know how many you have, and know when to replace it - all offline.

New: built-in size & part Reference
A bundled, searchable, fully offline reference so you can identify and record the right part once:
- HVAC & water filters with published nominal-vs-actual dimensions (a "16x25x1" really measures about 15.5 x 24.5 x 0.75 in), plus deep 4" and 5" media filters, fridge water filters, and range-hood filters - each with a typical replacement interval.
- A MERV rating guide (what MERV 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16 actually capture).
- Light-bulb base and shape codes (A19/E26, BR30, PAR38, candelabra E12, intermediate E17, GU10, GU5.3/MR16, appliance bulbs).
- Household battery sizes and equivalents (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V, CR2032/CR2025/CR2016, LR44, A23 with their common cross-reference names).
Tap any entry to expand the detail, then "Add as a spare" to drop a pre-filled record into your library.

New: real stock tracking with low-stock alerts
Every spare now has an on-hand count and a per-item reorder level. Use the +/- counter on each row as you install or restock. HomeSpare flags items as LOW (at or below your reorder level) or OUT (zero), and surfaces them on the dashboard, in the new "Low" filter, and at the top of your store run list.

New: automatic replacement reminders
Set how often an item recurs (monthly through yearly) and when you last replaced it. HomeSpare computes the next-due date and counts it down in the library ("due in 12 days", "overdue 3d"). Swipe right or tap "Replaced" to record today, roll the schedule forward, and use one unit from stock.

New: store run list
The Export tab now leads with a focused, shareable checklist of only the spares that are low, out, or overdue - each with its size/part and current count. Take it to the hardware store.

Improved
- CSV export now includes quantity, reorder level, a low-stock flag, and replacement interval columns.
- Dashboard metrics show low stock, total units on hand, due this week, and overdue.
- New sort option: stock low -> high. New filters: Active, Low, Due.
- Fixed the Info screen, which previously showed an out-of-date version number.

Still 100% offline: no account, no ads, no tracking, no in-app purchases, and no network calls. Reference data is bundled in the app - always confirm the size or part printed on your own equipment before buying.
