It didn’t prompt me to allow it access to my precise location settings and it automatically recorded my specific address. And when I went in to manage my privacy and data sharing options, the toggle buttons to turn off data sharing with third parties and collecting of my data are not functional. They don’t let you actually change your settings and save them. Even though the room scanning feature doesn’t really work well at all, I’m concerned it’s capturing private info in the images it records and I have no way to opt out of data sharing. **Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. We take privacy seriously, so I wanted to clear up a few things for anyone reading this. -HomeSpark doesn’t access or collect your location unless you give permission. If we request location access, it’s only to help match a home to a user. • We don’t share personal data with any third parties unless a user explicitly opts in. • Room scans only happen when you choose to scan, and images or 3D models are never shared outside HomeSpark. • Our scanning tool is new, and a lot of users find it helpful to watch the quick how-to video before doing their first full scan to get a good result. You can rescan any spaces you want to improve, too. We welcome anyone checking out HomeSpark, including folks from across the home services and AI tools space, but it’s important that information about how we handle privacy stays accurate. ### 5/5 — Useful *2025-12-11* Great app very useful. ### 5/5 — Clever Idea *2025-12-11* Just got the app and played around with it, very clever idea and weirdly enough looking forward to something breaking so I can diagnose it and fix it myself hahaha ### 5/5 — This is amazing! *2025-12-05* I just repaired my old Maytag dishwasher using this app. It was so easy. I just took a photo of the dishwasher and the app immediately recognised the model. The ai chatbot Sparky got me the instructions and a video so I could fix it myself. The dishwasher had started making a horrendous noise. I just described the noise as a grinding/moaning sound and Sparky immediately found the issue and gave me a video of how to fix it. The video suggested I could do a temporary repair but I decided to order a replacement part, so Sparky identified the part number for me and found three alternative vendors with links so I could just order it immediately. It saved me so much time, money and most importantly, the frustration I usually have when trying to figure out what’s wrong with an appliance and then how to fix it and where to get the part. This was a pleasurable alternative experience - I honestly couldn’t believe how good it is.
