Because of this, it is a nightmare to change settings because buttons do not react ### 2/5 — Not for iPhone X *2019-12-08* Menu layout is not made for iPhone X display layout, are stuck near the top edge of the screen, and some are cut off from view. I use it daily. Love having a blank slate and being to organize controls in literally any way possible. The nested grid system is an amazing concept and perfectly executed. As my Vera scenes and devices increase, this app is able to keep up. Your able to do almost anything you can imagine. Thanks for all the updates! ### 5/5 — Most Reliable out of all Vera Apps *2016-02-16, version 2.3* I use this app the most. The UI is very easy to customize and the connection reliability is great. I usually have problems with the other apps not refreshing when opened after being in the background for a while. The only way to get them to refresh is to close the app then reopen and that's a HUGE PAIN and VERY inconvenient. This app however AUTO refreshes when you open it from the background. I use it everyday on my iPhone with my Vera Lite (girlfriend has it on her phone too). Even makes Including new devices easier! It's worth it just for that! If you have a Vera this app is well worth a try. Locking or unlocking my front door, lights, calling for heat from different zones, checking temps, checking to see if doors locked and alarm on when away...works just great. ### 3/5 — Good but needs a lot of work *2015-12-04, version 2.1* This app for the Vera series of Z-Wave controllers is pretty good but it still has problems. Probably the biggest problem is working with thermostats. HomeWave doesn't reliably work with Trane thermostats. Heating and cooling set points aren't read correctly on occasion. And commands to the thermostats don't work. Good start though. Lots of potential. ### 5/5 — Most reliable controller out there! *2015-08-16, version 2.0* I'm not a guy that writes reviews often, but this developer deserves one. I've tried many apps for the past 3 years, all of them slow or unreliable. This one is the most reliable and fast that I've seen. It really made me love my Vera lite controller even more. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No longer works on iPad *2020-09-22* Unlike others, this app used to work adequate for me ... until iOS 14 came out. Now, it won’t even start up. iPhone version still works, though. ### 1/5 — Obsolete *2020-06-01* The program is very old. It does not work reliably, and looks lousy, on modern devices. Those who still use it are surely people who bought it years ago and are reluctant to move on because of the countless hours they have invested in the primitive task of building up its screens. ### 1/5 — Vera UI5 *2020-04-11* Don’t waste your money. It doesn’t work. I have a Vera controller running UI5 and it won’t connect to my device. Vera native app works without problem. Poor job :-( ### 1/5 — Poorly written app !! *2015-08-15, version 2.0* Like one reviewer said you get a blank slate, that's it. You have to do all the work configuring all devices, scenes etc. I have used the other Vera iPhone apps and by far this is at the bottom. Would not buy again or recommend. I have over 40 devices meaning it would take house to configure. Also these 5 star reviews must be friends !! ### 1/5 — Useless and impossible. DONT BUY *2015-06-02, version 1.99* I know some programming but this is the less intuitive thing I ever seen. Graphics are terrible, setup instructions null and did not connect to my Vera and don't have a clue how. All is said is did not found Vera and that's is it. No clue how to do it. How about Apple Watch? *2019-12-08* I’ve been using HomeWave for years on multiple devices. Two old devices are permanently installed in my house with HomeWave always running. It would be great to expand to Apple Watch. There are certain commands we use regularly that I would love to have available on the watch. Keep in mind this is a highly customizable app. So it does take some time to play with. With that said it has allowed me to make home automation ‘easy’ for the rest of my family. Things can be as easy or as complex as you want them to be. I’m moving off Vera to another competitor. So I won’t be able to use HomeWave. I’m sad it is not compatible. But if you have Vera and want to make a custom touchscreen with you IOS device. HomeWave is great. I have been using it for years. ### 5/5 — Love it... but have a feature request *2018-09-06* Love the app! I wish there was a way to mirror device controls so you could have them on multiple screens. For example, lights could be under individual rooms as well as devices in general. Also, you could select existing controls to include them in a favorites screen. Currently you can do it, but you have to create a new control for each screen, which makes it harder to make changes with the controls getting out of sync. If this feature is already there, I haven’t found it. ### 5/5 — WORKS GREAT WITH VERA PLUS! *2018-05-08, version 2.9* Best User Interface. Fast to transmit commands. It just works without fail.Best bang for the buck! Wish they had an Apple Watch version. A few individuals have reported that this app doesn’t work across cellular networks. They need to look at THEIR network configuration. I have NEVER had any problems controlling any of my Z-wave devices with the Vera Plus hub across the AT&T cellular network.
