Coming back to it in 2026, however, I’ve noticed 2 major things… 1. The Softlock. Yes, I managed to halt all my progress in less than a minute… by buying a new DNA instead of a new egg. My attempts to buy more coins via watching an ad were fruitless. (i.e., an ad did not play) 2. The table to the right appears to have gone missing. No matter how fervently I swiped, it would never take me there. I know Apple has taken some issues involving violence in games on the App Store, but honestly, I don’t even recall there being blood. Either the table has been removed.. or I’m just a bad swiper. This game still holds a special place in my heart. It could use more stuff, but it's great and simple for what it is. A bug I have is that there's no ability to actually buy anything with real money ingame. I want to get the amphibian egg, and actually support the creators of this game, but whenever I tap it it doesn't work. Not even the ads work when I try getting the 10 coins. No instructions. No idea how to play *2020-03-23, version 8.4.8* Seriously. There's nothing in this "game" (and I use the word "game" very loosely) that gives you any kind of instructions or help or even tells you what in the hell you're supposed to do. There's nothing that tells you how things work. The interface is clunky and hard to control. Devs, is it too much to give us a little onscreen guidance and instructions?? Yeah, okay. So there's a sign that tells you how to create a homunculus: place egg in cup, tap with the hammer -- and the very misleading "instructions" on the hammer screen are no help. Tapping too fast to fill the bar up top will cause you to break the egg if you tap too many times, and then you're stuck on a screen with no egg, a hypodermic, and a box of bandages. I finally figured out that swiping the screen takes me to a shelf screen, and after much trial and error, I figured out how to get more eggs -- a process that takes too many steps. Evidently clicking on "wild bird eggs" in the Homun Store isn't complicated enough for the devs. After you buy the eggs, you then have to click on the egg carton, click on the egg, then select "take"...which finally loads them in the bowl on the first screen. So, back to the first screen. Again, after too much trial & error, I got the hammer to work without breaking the egg, injected the egg with potion, covered it with a bandage ...waited a few seconds, and a green human-thing appeared on the table. Ooookay. Now what? Tapping all over the page did nothing. Picking up the green thing and dropping it in the bowl gave me a green thing in the bowl. There's no onscreen help, no guidance, no instructions, not even a basic tutorial. Just a green thing in the bowl, with your hammer, hypo, and bandages (all of which only knock Greenie down if you try to use them on him). Back to the Homun Store I went. More eggs. Created more green things. Finally unlocked another screen -- have no idea how I did it -- of a gray table. Managed to drag and drop a couple Greenies on the gray table. Nothing. They stood there. Tapping all over the screen & on the red box above the table gave me...something. No clue what it was supposed to be: a row of slashed-circle icons. A chance swipe got me to a "toolbox", where I found a knife. Not that it helped. DEVS, GIVE US A TUTORIAL. GIVE US SOME ONSCREEN HELP. GIVE US **ANYTHING** THAT LETS US KNOW THE BASIC GAMEPLAY. So. No tutorial, no help, a clunky interface, an overly-complicated store that gives you no help in using it, ugly graphics that look like the worst of 1980s CGI, nothing that gives you any clue what to do next or even how to play. Forget this game. I also think that you could take the fishbowl and make you able to put your creature inside so that you don’t have to put it in the egg bowl, and so it’s safe from falling off the table. From other reviews, I do think you should be able to feed them and such (you should check them out!) I also think that the things could have a little reputation system, where like the creatures with the least reputation with each other would fight or throw each other off the table (I think that they should also not just walk off when they feel like it, maybe they could even build little homes??
