## What is Honest Hockey?

Honest Hockey is off-ice training for youth hockey. The work between practices, finally done and finally visible.

A coach (or a solo player) sets the program: shooting, off-ice fitness, and stretching, with real targets. Players log the effort they actually put in, on their honor. Streaks, progress, and a Grind Score keep them coming back, and the coach sees who's doing the work without chasing anyone.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
- No leaderboards. No rankings. We never compare one kid to another, not now, not ever.
- You vs yesterday's you. Progress is measured against your own past self.
- Private by design. A player's data is seen only by their own parent and their coach.
- No ads. No selling data. No dark patterns.

FOR COACHES
Build an off-ice program in about ten minutes. Pick a ready-made one (Youth 5,000 / Intermediate 10,000 / Advanced 15,000 shots, plus fitness and stretching) or build your own. Invite parents, then see the whole team's effort at a glance. Coaching is always free.

FOR PLAYERS
Log your shots, fitness, and stretches each day. Watch your streak and your card climb. Skaters and goalies each get their own track.

FOR PARENTS
See everything your player does and every message their coach sends, read-only. Parental consent is built into signup for minors.

HOW IT WORKS
Honest Hockey is a companion to a web-based service. Create an account and start a free trial to unlock training. Manage your plan on our website.

Honest effort. Honest progress.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-04

Parents can say yes — and now they can say no.

Following an invite used to end at a button that sat there doing nothing, with
no explanation. That's fixed. A parent can now set up their account, approve
their child, and start them training in one go.

They can also turn the request down. If the account only ever existed for that
invite, it goes, along with everything we were given. If a parent already has
children with us, nothing of theirs is touched. An invite nobody answers now
expires on its own after seven days.

Also in this version: a family without a club can sign up on their own — you no
longer need a team code to get a child started. Passwords tell you when they
don't match, and let you see what you've typed. An expired link offers you a
fresh one instead of a dead end. And when something goes wrong, the app now says
so in words that make sense.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-22

Your bench, not just you.

A head coach can now add assistant coaches, goalie coaches, trainers and team
managers to their team. They get a read-only view of the roster, the program,
and the training the players have logged — so the people who are already at
every practice can see the same picture the head coach does.

Staff can't change anything, and they can't message players. Private messages
stay between the player, their head coach and that player's parent.

Also in this version: if you sign up before your coach has added you, the app
now tells you exactly what's happening, what to do about it, and always leaves
you a way back.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-12

Smoother team invites — the parent invite now links straight to gethonesthockey.com to download the app.
