## What is Hoops?

Hoops connects you with the pickup basketball scene in your city — live, right now.

Find courts near you
See every court on the map with live player counts. Tap a pin to see who's there and how busy it is.

Check in and run
Get within 100m of a court and check in to let others know you're ready. Browse scheduled runs or host your own — open to everyone or private for your crew.

Skill-based matchmaking
Challenge players near your MMR for ranked 1v1s. Win to climb the leaderboard, lose to drop. Work your way from Bronze to Elite.

Set your home court
Pick the court you play at most. Matchmaking prioritises opponents on your turf.

Quick Match
Already at the court? Search for someone next to you and start a game on the spot — no scheduling needed.

Player Contact
Phone numbers are now shared between players when a game is confirmed, so you always know who to call if plans change.

Smarter Matchmaking
Filter by gender, position, or MMR range to find the right opponent. Search results now show each player's win/loss record so you know what you're up against.

Skill Bracket
New players now set their skill level at signup (Beginner, Recreational, Competitive, or Elite) to start at the right MMR from game one.

Improved MMR System
Losing to a higher-ranked player now costs less. Beating one earns more. The system rewards upsets and protects you when the odds were against you.

Match History
Scores now appear next to your result in W/L format, always shown from your perspective.

Court Info
Tapping a court now gives you a direct Open in Maps button, cleaner tags, and a tidier layout throughout.

Chinese language support — the full app is now available in Simplified Chinese
Push notifications — get notified when friends check in, challenges arrive, and friend requests come in. Control exactly which notifications you receive in Settings

Notification settings — toggle individual notification types directly from Settings
Sign out now lives on the profile page for easier access
Delete account now requires confirmation with a checkbox so you can't accidentally remove your account

Tutorial — New players are now greeted with a 5-screen walkthrough covering courts, check-ins, runs, and matchmaking. Replayable anytime from Settings.
Player comps — Your profile now shows which NBA player your game style matches.
Matchmaking fixed — Players at the same MMR can now find each other. Starting MMR is now 1000.
Home court — Your home court now saves across sessions and is used to prioritise matchmaking on your local court.
