We want to be able to use the clock to track time. Our managers cant seem to add stats during a stoppage without the clock re starting...do we just not have it set properly. Once we figure this out we are in great shape. Very thorough for keeping stats on individual players which then comes together for team stats. Can export (and email) so you can see where the team/individuals are doing well and/or areas for improvement. I tried other apps but none had the same number of individual stat options, there are even two customisable buttons if you want to add something extra, which I did. It is a match made in heaven! The hoop stats scorekeeping app for the iPad is the easiest to learn by far. The fastest response to the touch, And the most intuitive user interface on the market. We have trained numerous statisticians for the teams that use our athlete profile micro sites to promote their athletes. And have received high marks on the experience. Every coach has expressed there appreciation for the the value in the reports they receive after the game, and we have seen the use of the app during the game used to change strategy and win more games for the teams that use hoop stats. It is A great learning tool for the athletes! The graphic shot charts help reinforce the fundamentals of the game for young basketball players. It helps them understand why coach is working on certain drills for calling specific place. Because the athlete can see the results even during the game. Hoop stats also makes reporting to Max preps easier and every coach we surveyed has said that they would use the app again next season. Mike at Rare Software has been a wonderful partner, a consummate professional and a delight to work with. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Rare Software and hope to incorporate their other sports apps in our Athlete showcases in the near future. ### 5/5 — the perfect iOS stats app! *2016-01-27, version 1.10.7* This app is the most usable, user-friendly, reliable basketball stats app I've found on the AppStore and I've tried them all. I've been using it for 5+ years now and it keeps getting better through updates. We export directly to MaxPreps from here which works great. I'd pay about 10x what this app costs...you won't need anything else. I us the iPhone X, and half tried a dozen times to use this for tracking my son’s games. I’m able to set the teams up, but it often freezes when establishing game “settings” such as game time, location, minutes, etc... Therefore, won’t allow me to record game stats. So, I start over but the process only repeats and again l’m not able to record game stats. Perhaps it’s not compatible with the iPhone’s newest software version. **Developer response:** Apple now lets developers respond directly to customer reviews and I just came across your review. The riserunsports.com takes me to a baseball recruiting site. But I’m having issues with the clock in HoopStats. I’m not able to stop and start the clock. Also the buttons for deflections, o-reb, PB, cust 1 and cust 2 don’t work or do anything when I press them. Can someone point me in the right direction to get this fixed. Tracks the right amount of stats in an easy to use interface. Tracks playing time which is important for me as the coach. I tried looking at the stat but it does not show the average playing time for the season. It shows the time for each game but not the average time for the overall. May I ask where I can look at the overall playing time? By far it is the best app for balancing ease-of-use with quality output which has real in-game use for coaches, scouts, statisticians, journalists, or parents. Postgame reporting and in season analysis is fully supported and exportable in common file format. What has it done for us lately? Rare continues to add even more efficient auto complete functionality, simplify clock usage to better track player time (helpful in managing players recovering from injury - no subjective estimating for understaffed programs). Best responsiveness to questions around. As a coach, I use it to help our high school program with in-game analysis (especially useful at halftime), MaxPreps reporting, and in-season analysis. I've helped out local D-3 programs in the Chicago area and am continually amazed at what these hard-working and under-resourced coaches and SIDs have to put up with from their conferences. In sum, our program has been using Hoopstats for almost a decade. I don’t personally know anyone at Rare Software and have no economic incentive to write this review; I write it for the same reason I coach: to help others help young student athletes think, learn, improve and grow. Each off-season we've evaluated other apps and keep coming to the same decision: stick with Hoopstats. ========== Hoopstats is by far the most balanced feature-rich basketball stats app available today, capable of supporting college through middle school program needs except live game stats media feed needs. In my experience with college, high school, and middle school students as the people recording the game statistics,the app's learning curve needs only one-half game for students to become proficient and a game or so for student users to be able to produce reliable results. Further, Hoopstats has two customizable fields which can be configured to compliment team goals, for example tracking transition scoring, passes/possession, etc. during a game. Based upon my use of all serious iOS basketball stats apps, I believe almost all now have have good data export, and adequate reporting information communication capabilities (e.g. Maxpreps or VarVee), with no app holding a distinctive advantage over the others. In my opinion, while the leading serious apps have different report format and stats content distinctives, Hoopstats' inter-device Bluetooth data transfer capability, ease of configuring season, game, team, and player settings (particularly within or just prior to a game), its two customizable stat tracking input fields, and above all Hoopstats' intuitive, straightforward and unfrantic game event input interface push me to recommend Hoopstats over all other stats apps. ### 5/5 — Great app *2018-06-22* This is by far the easiest app to keep track of stats on game day. What stands out are the automatic things the app does. For example our team takes a shot-if we rebound it’s obviously offensive. Believe it or not you have to distinguish this in every other app. Not with HoopStats.
