I wish it was around when I first landed in Dubai as I was always getting asked where to go and had no clue. This has helped me save a lot of dosh as well as find new places I potentially wouldn’t have previously visited. ### 2/5 — Needs improvements… *2025-04-23* I don’t ever leave reviews but this one caught my eye off one of the Instagram adverts and I thought I’d give it a try. I am more than disappointed to find out that you need a membership to find these deals? I tried to use the map at first but it only exists in two regions: Manchester and Abu Dhabi (very random). In addition, when trying to click on the deals on the map, I was told I needed the plus version which is the subscription (£4.99/month). Not only this but I found the app to be slightly buggy and slow with some lag and no consistency when moving between the tabs as it does not save where you looked at last or where my location is (keeps putting me back to Abu Dhabi). I trusted the other reviews but after experiencing this myself, I would not recommend this app currently until some issues are resolved and that at the very minimum, a free trial with no card details or anything to be implemented to advertise and incentivise future memberships to fully demonstrate how the app works fully. An app which was designed to help people find deals but then asks for a paid monthly subscription to find drink deals is just unacceptable - ironic if not. On the subscription side - we understand where you're coming from. £4.99/month might seem ironic for a deals app, but it’s less than the cost of a single drink, and most users make that saving (and more) in just one sitting. For those happy to commit upfront, the annual plan works out at just £0.69 per week, saving around 40% compared to paying monthly. Hoppy is a brand new app early in its journey.
