### 3/5 — Always late now

*2026-08-11, version 6.4.8*

App now marks back to back rides as late, even if its not your fault.

### 3/5 — App is meh, Company is Fabulous!

*2026-01-03, version 6.3.2*

I love driving for HopSkipDrive (HSD)! There are so many wonderful things about it. However, I’m finding more and more reasons I don’t like the app - or maybe just things I’d like to see changed. That said, I’m one who ALWAYS likes to end on a positive note - and there are some great positives to end on, so keep that in mind as you read the “less than positives” that I’m starting with.

So first, the App. The very first thing I noticed about it that I didn’t like is that it doesn’t function in landscape mode. So if you’re someone like me who has poor eyesight and uses their iPad as much as possible, or rotates their phone so the font enlarges to be more easily read, that won’t work with this app. The best you’re going to get is portrait mode on a larger screen. Secondly, there is no app for computers - the only way to schedule rides is on the mobile app. I called driver support to ask about this and was told that they want to be a mobile company. OK, I get that. But I would find it much easier to schedule my rides on my laptop - again, easier to see and an app would transfer to my mobile device. But whatever, their choice. Third, for whatever reason, the app requires a full screen on my iPad when in landscape mode. This makes it SUPER difficult for me to plan my rides. I’m a very visual person and really need to be able to see my trips side by side - and I like to be able to use Google Maps to see if I can get from a drop-off to a pickup without being late. It would be nice if I could do all of this without having to flip from one screen to another. All of this becomes particularly grating when I see all the wasted space on HSD screen. A fourth problem I have with the app isn’t really a *problem,* but rather a change I’d like to see. With HSD’s commitment to being a fully mobile company, it would be nice if they would add the option to add ride schedules to Apple or Google (or whatever) Calendar’s when the ride is accepted/scheduled. It takes a lot of my time to go through, check my calendar, plan my rides, then transfer them all to my calendar so I don’t double book myself. Many, many other appointment apps allow you to transfer appointments to calendars. It seems possible to do that here. Finally, I’d love for HSD to work it so that their app would transfer with Apple Car Play so I could see their map on my car display. Looking at my phone is hard and can be dangerous. In rereading this, it seems like my problems might be particular to me. And maybe they are. Maybe nobody else anywhere has these problems. But I’m guessing that if these changes were made, many lives would be made easier. I totally support HSDs commitment to the mobile lifestyle but the mobile lifestyle is evolving, and I believe HSDs app should evolve with it.

Now the good! And it’s great! This part wont be as long - but if it wouldn’t seem juvenile, I’d use lots of exclamation marks!! Driving for this company is fabulous. They really make it so easy to make some decent money helping people (KIDS) who really need it. The app really is pretty easy to use (even if there are a lot of changes I’d make to it). Customer Service is quick and typically super helpful. They offer great bumps in pay for particular *regular* rides and bumps in pay for rides that are last minute and need to be picked up. I would, in a heartbeat, recommend driving for HSD. I felt like this area was a review for their app, not their service, so that’s what I left - a review of their app. But I wanted to make sure I left the good information, too.

### 4/5 — Freedom of not enough

*2025-10-10, version 6.2.5*

All drivers need more work. Basically need to pick up few more per day . As today live conditions all drivers need make $150 a day . Six days a week. Now only pick up in the morning ( 20–$35 ) and afternoon 20–$30 . Make $50 a day can’t make it .

### 2/5 — App Bug

*2025-09-21, version 6.2.4*

Can’t complete sign up because of a bug that won’t allow text to be typed into experience field. I was looking forward to providing caring capacity to this company.

### 3/5 — Not CarPlay compatible

*2025-09-11, version 6.2.3*

Drove in 2024 and could project maps onto screen via CarPlay. Learned today that CareDriver app not compatible with CarPlay so I can only view navigation on the smaller phone screen. I feel that sacrifices safety and efficiency.

### 1/5 — Locations

*2025-06-30, version 6.1.4*

Please update your description here in the App Store to let people know what states you are currently available in. I just signed up, only to find out it’s not even available in my area

### 1/5 — This has to be the most annoying ad on YouTube.

*2025-06-24, version 6.1.3*

I have been seeing the ad for this app forever. It’s EXTREMELY frustrating ! I have tried to block it and to report it, but it seems there is nothing I can do to get rid of it. Every time that man shows up on my screen, I feel like smashing my phone on a wall.

### 2/5 — Slows down iPhone

*2025-06-20, version 6.1.3*

The app makes the iPhone performance sluggish. It slows down the essential turn by turn gps directions because it’s not optimized correctly. This is very dangerous for an app designed for safe transportation of children and special needs passengers,

### 3/5 — Low pay

*2025-05-19, version 6.1.1*

Not sure if I’m going to stay as a driver. Bad Traffic, terrible roads and travel time not worth the current pay. Kids are great!

### 4/5 — My Experience

*2025-05-02, version 6.1.0*

I’m new to the platform, but I’ve been a gig driver for quite some time. I love the availability of work. Customer service has also proven to be very responsive. If they provided drivers with the opportunity to receive their payouts daily, that would be a plus! I do see that HSD is introducing a new incentive program. Hopefully, it will be successful.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Used to be good

*2026-07-17, version 6.4.6*

Long time good record and excellent service is nothing here! Customer service mostly are no experience and they don’t what they talking about. First two years was absolutely great but now they are getting worse.

### 1/5 — Pay

*2026-07-11, version 6.4.5*

I did almost 5 year student pick and drop but this company is like uber taking 60% and giving drivers 40%

### 1/5 — Lack of Transparency and Poor Support

*2026-05-07, version 6.4.2*

The app itself may function adequately, but the onboarding experience behind it was extremely frustrating.

I completed the required medical screening process through the company’s designated provider, but important information regarding possible out-of-pocket medical costs was not clearly disclosed upfront. I was redirected between multiple clinic locations due to scheduling and operational issues, and communication throughout the process was inconsistent.

When billing problems arose afterward, getting clear answers and support took far longer than expected.

Transparency and applicant support during onboarding seriously need improvement. Future applicants should be aware that unexpected expenses and communication issues may occur during the process.

### 1/5 — KN

*2026-03-21, version 6.3.8*

The worst experience ever

### 1/5 — Unfair & Broken System for Drivers

*2026-03-17*

Hopskip Drive — Unfair to Drivers, No Accountability (2026)
I drove for Hopskip Drive in 2026 and the experience was deeply frustrating. Pay rates dropped significantly, and they introduced grouped routes where you pick up multiple students at different stops — which creates a chain reaction of lateness flags whenever one student isn’t ready on time. Drivers get penalized for things completely outside their control.
It got worse: I was repeatedly sent to incorrect pickup addresses. When I reported the errors, the system still logged me as late and Hopskip used those logs to threaten deactivation. At one point, a family member who was NOT on the assigned route demanded to be picked up at an unscheduled location. I declined. They responded by filing a false complaint accusing me of making obscene comments. I have dashcam footage proving this never happened — Hopskip reinstated me after reviewing it, then deactivated me again hours later over another address error logged as my fault.
When I tried to appeal and present my evidence, they ignored me completely. Years of excellent service meant nothing. If you’re considering driving for this platform, document absolutely everything — you’ll need it.

### 1/5 — No

*2025-09-12, version 6.2.3*

The app is just OK. They will offer you rides ahead of time but put extra money when you wait to take a ride last minute. Hopskip need to understand it more than giving kids a ride to school. You are literally playing the Guardian role for that moment. Sometimes you get to the school and have to wait long period of times are in long pick up lines. Pay should be more

### 1/5 — After reading all of the reviews…

*2025-09-03, version 6.2.2*

After reading all of the reviews, the problems sound a lot(or more) like Ubers issues for drivers. I’d make sure to have a dash cam to document every ride.

### 1/5 — Lacks integrity and professional communication

*2025-08-20, version 6.2.2*

A company talks about mission, vision and values doesn’t reflect on their drivers and how they treat them. Truly face front value to gain clients, but it’s def not reflecting their values. Try it and you will find out how they have glitch in their app, doesn’t respect or value drivers and not responding in timely manner. They think they hired!! But no I had to fire them out of respect to myself.

### 1/5 — Requirements need changed

*2025-07-29, version 6.1.8*

Hello I have several years of driving experience and I did work with kids with developmental disabilities in the past. However requiring 5+ Years working with kids is a bit ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Application status

*2025-07-22, version 6.1.7*

I have been waiting for my application/fingerprints to clear for over 6 months

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2025-12-08, version 6.3.1*

So easy to use thank you

### 5/5 — Amazing App

*2025-11-20, version 6.3.0*

A great way to help busy parents out and make money!

### 5/5 — Flexible and great income

*2025-09-29, version 6.2.4*

My husband kept telling me- I finally signed up. This is a rewarding and easy job. The app is easy to use and their system works very good. You make your own schedule and if you want to do this as your primary job, you can make decent money.

### 5/5 — CareDriver

*2025-09-26, version 6.2.4*

I love it

### 5/5 — Great start!

*2025-09-18*

Rides pay well even if they cancel. Customer service is always ready to help and resolves issues quickly. Receiving payments are easy with direct deposit! The app is organized, detailed, and easy to use. They give you a free shirt, phone magnet, and car decals. You can request a car seat if you don’t have one. Things that could make this app better; app navigation that links to your car, ability to add a secondary car, and the ability to get more than 2-4 rides a day.

### 5/5 — Giving back to the community

*2025-07-30, version 6.1.8*

I’m a gig driver for the last 10 yrs and feel this would be an awesome opportunity to give back to the community

### 5/5 — No one cares about you

*2025-06-04*

Ok gig, but their customer service is almost non existent! Communication with anyone who actually can answer any questions is a joke! it’s always we will escalate your question! To God knows who, and God knows where! They can do better but they chose not to! The pay is ok the Kids are always amazing! For that reason alone I continue to drive as a care driver!

**Developer response:** We're really sorry to hear about your experience, and we want to make it right. Please email us at community@hopskipdrive.com with more details so we can assist you further.

### 5/5 — Best app for driving rides

*2025-05-07, version 6.1.0*

I loved

### 5/5 — Great helping families

*2025-05-04, version 6.1.0*

This is an awesome way to help families and earn money.

### 5/5 — Great side gig!

*2025-05-02*

I drive primarily in the mornings as I hate the hustle and bustle of kid pick up. Pick up for some schools is very organized while others are a free for all. This can cause tons of time as you try to locate the child. If you have a regular route you can alleviate some of this hassle. I’m cautious about my ride selection because some are super long and don’t really compensate you. If you have flexibility you can wait until the rides increase in fair. You’re taking a chance, but I make most of my money by doing this. I do like that they offer ride challenges on occasion which give you incentives for taking the lower paying routes. They do monitor your speed, turn radius and acceleration. This is tough because you know that almost all traffic flows 10 miles over the speed limit. So I try and keep it at 5 over which seems to be ok. Pay is weekly which is fine, but if you need cash sooner you’ll have to wait. It’s on a fixed day or every Wednesday. There’s no debit card option either. Not a big deal, but this is where they differ from other Rideshare companies. I’m on my second year and it’s helped me pay off a lot of debt. Finally, there aren’t any rides in summer so this is truly a school year job.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. We are always trying to improve the CareDriver's experience. Thank you for being part of the team!
