Collecting sensitive personal information before using the app

Firstly it asked for the mobile verification as soon as I installed the app. When moved further, it started asking me to upload my Aadhar card and PAN card!!! Really not able to understand why do they need these sensitive documents. Hope they are aware of DPDP.
