Horseshoes, a pastime enjoyed for generations by nobility and commoner alike, is fun for all. This is the real game of horseshoes. No flashing lights or special effects. Just a regulation game, played on a regulation court, in a regulation park, on a regulation summer day. Game play and physics are realistic in every way. Play against another human or against one of three different computer opponents. Several scoring options are available. With automated scoring, you can play a standard game where “close” counts, or a tournament game where only ringers are scored. If you’re feeling ruthless, try cancellation scoring where only one player scores per inning. And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can even use manual scoring where anything goes, even “leaners.” Two pitching options are also available. The Flick control is the quickest way to get started. I love horseshoe games and this one comes close to the real thing. My only request is for the developer to use more contrasting colors for the HUD slider that controls the power. **Developer response:** I've added a flick control. Though the 3D Aimer is a bit more difficult to master, it gives you more precise control of the direction, lift, and power of your pitch. The practice mode is good to start getting a handle on how to throw using the controls in this app. However I have a real problem with the so-called “bad“ opponent. A number of times — and I could provide screenshots of this — the so-called bad player made two ringers in a row three times in a row.! Space bar that is a real pain when you’re trying to get your game up before you can advance to the next level.The algorithm used to control the so-called bad mode in this app needs to be really tune down to be bad. I’ve played horseshoes many times and never did I play against a bad player that got three ringers, that is, two sets of three ringers in a row before. Maybe an occasional ringer, but there’s a reason why they are called a bad player. How can your CPU opponent set on bad make a ringer every f**cking time? Liars! I also noticed when I throw two ringers at once I only get three points on one and one point for the other when I should have gotten six points. You would think if someone spent the time to make a horseshoe pitching game they would have known the correct scoring system.
