## What is Hoshinzo?

HOSHINZO helps you regulate your nervous system through breathing.

Choose how you're feeling right now: acute stress, anxiety, anger, lack of focus, fatigue, or trouble falling asleep. The app guides you to the most suitable breathing protocol, out of 15 documented techniques.

It also offers protocols tied to specific moments: before and after training, morning or evening.

WHAT MAKES HOSHINZO DIFFERENT

Most breathing apps treat every technique as equally valid. HOSHINZO makes a radical choice for transparency: each protocol displays its evidence level, rated on a scale adapted from the GRADE methodology. You always know what you're relying on — whether it's a technique backed by published studies or a practice with more limited evidence.
Each protocol is linked to its reference publications: Heart coherence, Cyclic sighing (Stanford RCT, 2023), 4-7-8 breathing, Box breathing, Nadi Shodhana, and more.

HOW IT WORKS

Breathing is one of the few voluntary levers on the autonomic nervous system. A prolonged exhale is associated with vagus nerve stimulation and can activate the body's "rest" mode. A pace of six breaths per minute favors heart-breath synchronization — this is heart coherence. Each technique is linked to an identified physiological mechanism, clearly explained in the app.

THE SIX STATES

· Acute stress — calm down fast
· Anxiety — quiet circular thoughts
· Anger — defuse irritation and rising tension
· Lack of focus — regain clarity
· Fatigue — restore energy
· Sleep — fall asleep more easily

TARGETED MOMENTS

· Before training — physical activation
· After training — muscle recovery
· Morning — activation and clarity
· Evening — wind down and recover

ON APPLE WATCH

Hoshinzo is also available on Apple Watch: start a breathing session right from your wrist.

A QUIET GUIDE

During the exercise, the screen strips away entirely: a visual breathing pace guide, nothing else. No distractions, no unnecessary chrome.

HONESTY FIRST

No invented metrics, no fake social proof, no defensive jargon. Contraindications for each technique are clearly stated. HOSHINZO doesn't replace medical care — it's a regulation tool, not a treatment.

Available in French, English, and Spanish.
