The golf cart not reliable. We rented this unit twice and have had issues both times. If you want a golf cart don’t rent this unit. Nice cabin but the appliances somewhat dated and not cleaned very well before arrival. Also, there are lots of bears around. Be sure to lock cars. Chairs were cheap, hard plastic and totally uncomfortable. No cushioned seats! Sofa was stained and uncomfortable. The furnace did not work the first five days we were there in 45-degree weather. The shower door was off its track in the guest bathroom. The guest bathroom toilet had to be adjusted three times to get it to stop running. All of the bed coverings were stained. The cabinet doors in the kitchen did not line up to close. It took Herculean strength to open the sliding door to the balcony. The cheap, white, hard plastic furniture on balcony was so uncomfortable no one wanted to use it. The beach umbrella and beach chairs in the storage locker were broken, rusted and mostly trash. The front screen door was extremely dirty. It was difficult to sleep in bedrooms because of traffic noise and there is no air circulating in guest bedroom. But couple of storms came through On Sunday and Monday. Pool dirty never cleaned. The grill was dirty. Only half side worked. Low heat. Also had to be start with match. Grill needs replaced. Floors looked dirty. Would of liked a vacuum. Towels and Linen clean. Lots of great Memories! We will book again ! ### 4/5 — Lazy Bear home *2023-07-29* This is a beautiful home in a sketchy area- not criminal sketchy, but some homes no one would wAnt to stay in for a week. It has a great large backyard for outside dining, as well as a nice circular table on the top deck with a skinny lake view. The interior of the home is very upscale a jacuzzi snd roomy with three floors, the bottom floor is close to a covered jacuzzi and the kitchen has a great view of 200 foot trees and skinny view of the lake. The reason I did not give 5 stars is the paper goods and towels are very skimpy. We needed to replenish toilet paper snd plastic trash liners after three days. No Kleenex boxes were provided. There was one very skimpy, tiny bar of shower/ sink soap on each bathroom- like a 3 -star hotel. Lastly, the check-in time is 4:00 pm and check- out is 10:00 a.m. This is to permit a cleaning of the house and laundry for the next renters. As we arrived in Tahoe City after our flight to Sacramento at about 1:00 pm, I called the office to see if it would be possible to check- in before 4 pm ( I called the office the day before we arrived to ask if it might be possible to check-in around 2 pm if the house had been cleaned) and was told to call after we got in to Tahoe City the next day). I was told at 1 pm that the cleaners were likely still there and it had not been inspected, but that she would check for the earliest time and call me back soon. I called the office back at 2 and 3 pm, but could only get a voice recording. After hearing nothing at 3:45 pm, we drive over to the property to see if the inspector was still there. There was no door answer so we used the lockbox key and entered without getting a call until the next day. I assume this was an oversight by an overworked summer staff and perhaps a shortage of cleaning crews. Learned to live with them they don’t sting. All staff at Island getaway always very helpful including Jen, Archer, Christine, Tina and all the staff were pros with great attitudes. This unit hands down is the absolute best one we have stayed in. I love the beach and being able to watch the sun come up and this unit gives you the best views.
