Its hard for me to grasp their locations relative to cities and states. **Developer response:** Zoom the map out to better see what’s around the hot spring. ### 4/5 — How about Canada? *2021-08-09* This is a great app, but it is too bad it doesn’t include hot springs in Canada. Many of the hot springs shown on the map are on private property and not open to the public. Wouldn’t use it to plan a road trip but if I were already in an area anyway it may provide something to research more or inquire about with locals. Perhaps MORE INFORMATION, regarding each site - audio & visual details from each site, in addition to verbal/text descriptions, are also available regarding each location & related amenities... ### 5/5 — Hot springs app is useful *2014-08-05* I like that it shows a map and you can zone in on your location to find hot springs. The app would be improved if it began with my current location. Another improvement would be if it included whether it is a developed or undeveloped site. And if it can be reached by road or foot. ### 2/5 — Wild goose chase *2013-08-03* I was excited to discover that I was surrounded by hot springs on this portion of my road trip. I set out to find them with the help of this app... I followed the map to 3 different hot springs, one of which was totally dry with no sign of a spring, one seemed to be pointing to a little stream on private ranch land, blocked by barbed wire, and one was, indeed, a hot springs resort that was closed and was incredibly overpriced anyway. I looked for a couple more but to no avail. I did see 2 obvious hot spots in a field surrounded by cows but those, incidentally, were not shown on the map in this app. This app needs more info if they are going to show every teeny seep in the country- private vs public land, developed or not, how many gallons per minute maybe, accessible to soak... Whether it's worth looking for, all that. Without additional information this app is, unfortunately, useless. Disappointing... ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Do not purchase *2025-07-08* I accidentally double clicked and purchased the app. No photos will load, no directions, nothing. It has every hot spring you could find with a quick Google search, but with less information. 99 cents down the drain into a lazy app developers pocket. ### 1/5 — not really anything *2021-06-01* Searching on Google Maps for hot springs probably gives you the same results. There’s no way to review the locations or find much of any details. It may have only cost $.99 but I feel like I wasted my $.99. Not enough information on any of the sites I don’t know if I have to walk in if I can drive up is there a resort there what is there? ### 1/5 — Many “Hot Springs” are actually hot tub dealers. *2020-09-06* Very few have links to more information or a website. Many of the “Hot Springs” that have links are actually hot tub dealers. **Developer response:** There are no hot tub dealers listed in the database, however there are resorts built around some hot springs. Some links are auto-generated by Apple Maps and may not always be 100% correct. ### 1/5 — No information... *2019-05-13* Very confusing with too many locations that aren’t even real hot springs. No data on the type, no recommendations, reviews or pictures... ### 1/5 — Not awesome *2017-03-30* App provides little to no info on hot springs or directions to them. Also it gives misleading temps of the springs themselves (at the source) not the pools that you would actually sit in. It links to websites that might be useful but is far from being an all in one guide. It's worth about what it costs **Developer response:** To obtain directions to a hot spring, tap the left button on the bottom toolbar. Choose "Show location in Apple Maps" to show the location in Apple Maps. With Apple Maps you can obtain directions from your location to the hot spring. The temps were obtained from the National Geophysical Data Center, so if anyone knows the temps, they should. ### 1/5 — Poor quality data *2015-02-15, version 1.3.1* We went to explore few spots shown on the map and most places were outdated. Ive now been to several springs noted on this map that were either mislocated, nonexistent, on private property, or not hot (i.e. A cold spring). The data on this app pulls from some 3rd party source and is clearly outdated. There is no description of how to get to a spring and no ability for user reviews or comments. This app is way beta right now. ### 2/5 — It's a start, but not nearly good enough... *2017-08-12, version 1.6.91* More info, different icons for hot springs you can swim in vs once that you die in. User contributed reviews and actual photos, not just a search. Push notifications for when you are nearby a spring. Ability to follow a hot springs reviews and photos, message board. I do, however leave hot springs & camping sites much cleaner than I found them. . I guess that's honorable. Regarding the app, it's pretty good, however it can improve in a couple ways. Photos of the feature would be appreciated. Also, without knowing the names, I can't really do a search. A bettersearch feature might be: “ hot springs near Mt Adams”or “hot springs in the Nevada desert.” Thanks. ### 5/5 — I love soaking *2021-01-27* This app is amazing. Pin point accuracy, very complete. What will be helpful is reviews And pics and water and legal issues. I was not Allways sure if I was on private land. Many locations have Google reviews and photos available from the map on the detail view. On the detail view, tap the Google Map link if the Google map is not displayed. On the map you may see the hot spring, and if so tap it then tap "View larger map." This will bring up reviews, photos, and more details of the location. Also tapping on the G button on the bottom toolbar may give additional info. ### 5/5 — Great resource *2019-12-27* This is a very valuable resource. I would request the following changes: *Allow more hotsprings to be displayed at a time. Some areas are very dense and you can’t see any *Update some springs that no longer exist (Warner Valley) **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. As for your requests: • Sorry, but I don't quite understand this request. The map displays all the hot springs, and you zoom in or out to see more or fewer hot springs. • To submit an update on an existing hot spring, go to the detail view, tap the lower left button (box with an up arrow), and tap "Report a location issue." There are two Warner Valley hot springs so I'm not sure which you're reporting. Please contact us for additional support.
