### 2/5 — Basic

*2026-01-05, version 2.4*

Would be great if you could choose light colors. My control panel went on my hot tub so I had to get the wireless app. Very basic.

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-07-13, version 2.2*

The Hot Springs spa is theoretically a higher end spa, the app that supports the spa atrocious. Bare bones and even the bare bones controls don’t work consistently. Routinely sends false notifications and you cannot always remotely control simple features such as the temperature.

### 1/5 — App has never worked since installation

*2025-06-03, version 2.1*

I bought a new spa in February and purchased this remote product with the app for nearly €1,000. It has never ever worked. It’s a waste of my time to write at length the effort I have gone to to make it work. Our amazing spa company have reported several of their clients are all experiencing the same nightmares. As a result they have stopped selling this product completely and have refunded us the full cost.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2025-06-01, version 2.1*

Second Attempt At Wifi is another Failure

### 1/5 — From bad to worse!

*2025-05-18, version 2.1*

After my previous comments it gets worse! Now it’s saying ‘the data could not be read because it isn’t in the correct format’. Have reported this but so far no answer from Watkins.

Update 18/5/25
No answer from HotSprings! The previous app worked perfectly most of the time. This one works some of the time, very frustrating. Why is this not being addressed please?

### 1/5 — Bare Bones product at luxury prices

*2025-04-18*

My Apple Watch cost about the same as the kit that uses this app. The watch can play music, set and and sound alarms and timers, call my wife, give health warnings based on pretty accurate biometrics, display photos of loved ones (or mortal enemies if I need motivation), open and close my garage door, act as a calculator, and the list goes on. This app controls water temperature, can test for salt, but not any of the water chemistry that the IQ system monitors on its on board display. It can turn on the lights but can’t control the colors. Other limitations are listed in other reviews. I think my point is made. This app only gives its companion unit a value in the neighborhood of $100-$150. Because it is in the category of “Hot Tub” they sell the unit at an 8x mark up. Shameful.

Edit: Demoted to 1-star. The app completely logged me out and I can’t get back in. There is also zero info about the occasional alerts I get and what they mean to the lay person. This component really makes this nice, high priced hot tub feel like an off brand. “Get your Hawt Spreengs premium hot tub”.

### 1/5 — Does not stay connected

*2025-04-05*

App does not stay connected to hot tub. when you go in and change the temp and you think you turned it up, The acknowledges you turned it up and then you go outside to go in your hot tub and it hasn’t actually turned up is rather frustrating. I’ve had to unplugand and shut power off to my hot tub and the box that controls the wireless to the hot tub multiple times, to get the app to reconnect. absolute garbage, please fix it definitely not worth $500.

### 1/5 — Bad

*2025-03-20*

Zero stars for the constant logging outs!
Also the network adapter is a joke, keeps getting disconnected, what a joke manufacturer, they couldn’t come ip with their own solution, had to rely on 3rd party adapters…Set the temp and the tub becomes inaccessible!!!

Suggestion for improvement: scheduling for water heat up. We want to be able to only heat up the water during the days, when the energy is free!

### 1/5 — $800 and functionality is bare minimum

*2025-03-07*

App is free, but you can’t use it unless you’ve installed a kit, only purchased and installed through a dealer that will cost, installed, over $800. I was excited to hear this kit was available, as I just installed a solar system and need to reduce my energy usage between 4-9pm. (The “summer timer” feature I already have is an 8 hour block, take it or leave it… feature was not intended to use for energy savings purposes, but rather safety to ensure spa doesn’t get too hot when sun is beating down on it.) This app really misses the mark.

 • No HomeKit compatibility (or any smart home system connectivity whatsoever.)
• No ability to time any kind of event (don’t heat between 4-9pm)
• no way to start a clean cycle
• no way to program the lighting moods, or change lighting color.
• no dashboard to monitor things like when it’s time to replace the water, or clean filters.
• no calculator, pre-populated with your model’s gallon capacity, to help you properly dose chemicals based on usage activity

Hot Springs really needs to reconsider the software developer they chose to partner with to get this done. Why spend $800 if I can’t even automate such a basic thing - like turn off heating for 5 hours, every day, during peak energy rates?!?

### 1/5 — Worst app on my phone

*2025-03-05*

This app has been unusable since I installed it. It’s like 90’s app design. You can’t view the temp you’re changing to, changing the temp rarely works, you can’t check the water quality, you can’t change the light colors or set themes. For such an expensive tub with their optional, expensive WiFi adapter - in this day & age, this is completely unacceptable. Hot Springs should start over and develop an app by today’s standards and make sure it works first.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-02-22, version 2.1*

I love my spa but the app is terrible. It constantly logs me out and rarely works.

### 1/5 — Rarely works

*2025-02-15, version 2.1*

I needed this app to monitor my hot tub while I’m away and it rarely works or stays connected. I expect my tub will freeze over and break one day and I’ll have no idea it’s happening.

### 1/5 — Horrible!

*2025-02-11*

Fairly worthless app. Frequently goes offline, has few functions, and has bugs in it like, “The data couldn’t be read because it’s not in the correct format.” Huh? Makes the app unusable. I even think that since it was installed, it has adversely affected my electronics within the tub, particularly the lighting assembly. Don’t waste your money.

### 1/5 — App not working

*2025-02-11*

No longer able to login to app. This problem started in the last week or so. Error message pops up and says “The data can’t be read because it’s not in the correct format.” I deleted the app completely and reinstalled it but that did not fix the problem. Please address this issue.

### 1/5 — Spa app

*2025-02-10, version 2.1*

Spa app doesn’t work can’t even login says not correct format. Have deleted app and reinstalled still can’t login. This needs to be fixed asap for the money o have spent for this feature

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-02-09*

The application crashes frequently. It does not notify you it lost communication so the screen you see may not be up to date. The notifications for temperature and errors shows up in app, but not through your standard phone notifications. Changing settings from the app doesn’t change chlorine output.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t allow me to login

*2025-02-09*

This app is poor and I spent $800 for the kit. I can no longer login because I get a message saying “data couldn’t be read because it isn’t in the correct format”. When it was working it was only effective about 50% of the time. Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

### 1/5 — Disappointing App

*2025-02-09, version 2.1*

App no longer works. Same error as others. Do not pay for upgraded hot tub internet connection option until Hotspring commits to making an actual functioning app.

### 2/5 — Good app when it works

*2025-02-08*

Since the last update, it won’t let me sign on because it says everything is in the wrong format.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unreliable

*2026-02-08, version 2.4*

Constantly needs resetting despite SNA being hardwired to network and placed close to spa. Even after resetting may not always work. Extremely buggy.

### 1/5 — Completely broken

*2026-01-18, version 2.4*

This app is worthless. You’ll be mad you ever tried.

### 1/5 — Not worth the cost

*2026-01-18*

I purchased this option thinking it would be useful to monitor my hottub. The radio setup required me to have a Ethernet port to plug in the Digi adapter. The app doesn’t show proper information, and when changing my salt output it never matches the panel display. I don’t have confidence it reads the temp right and impossible to tell if it’s connected or providing “dummy” data. The round gauge doesn’t match the gauge on panel either after performing a salt test.

### 1/5 — Simply stopped working

*2025-12-12, version 2.3*

Can’t control my spa anymore. For an expensive add on, with no API access, this is very disappointing.

### 1/5 — Never sent confirmation email

*2025-10-13, version 2.2*

🤮

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2025-10-10, version 2.2*

Doesn’t work. Always disconnects. Temp isn’t what is set. Salt level is wrong. There is so much wrong with this app and so little of anything good. Why? Why such garbage yet such great spas? Embarrassing.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-09-18*

This worked for about the first week. I’ve had my hot tub three months now and this app is completely worthless. I live in a northern climate where it can go to -30°F and thought this app like protecting me if the hot tub heater failed. Well now it is almost October and I need to figure out another option to monitor my hot tub temperature.

Yeah, does little to nothing for Bluetooth connectivity for your music. I used to be able to turn up the chlorine system, but that doesn’t work. I used to be able to turn on the lights, but that doesn’t work. Pretty much nothing works.

### 1/5 — Super minimal for the price

*2025-08-16*

Not worth the money. It’s super glitchy. No audio control other than input type. No reporting of the water quality monitor. Salt system reporting only. Can’t control the lights or adjust light color. I paid a thousand bucks to have this added and am super disappointed. I wish the dealer would have shared the limitations before i shelled out a kilo buck.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2025-08-15, version 2.2*

This App has only worked for about a day after resetting everything including the router and its module. This has been going on for two years. Love the hot tub but can’t control it remotely. Terrible!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-07-25*

This worked OK for a little while. Not great. Extremely buggy and slow. Terrible design. Now it just doesn’t work at all. HUGE waste of money.

I wish companies like this would stick to what they do best. They have no idea what they are doing with tech / app integration. Embarrassing. Whoever was in charge of this rollout should be fired.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Reduced flow error faulty but the APP is great for remotely adjusting temp and jets

*2024-12-05*

Although I am getting a software “ reduced flow” error ; which I believe is faulty,because I just changed the filter;
I love the spa; I had a hot spring sovereign for 25 years and just bought a hot spring Relay model.

I trust Hot Springs and think it’s the best on the market. The jets in the new Relay model are much improved over my old Sovereign model.

### 4/5 — Good app, wish you can change the light color though

*2024-04-13*

You cannot change the light color in the app. Can you please add this to the app? Also would be nice to open up the interfaces so we can easily control with home automation like home assistant or apple homekit. I just got the salt freshwaterIQ system on my 2024 Limelight Pulse. However, I cannot view the information it provides, on the app. Can you also add that spa accessory? Thanks for listening!

### 4/5 — Good app, wish you can change the light color though

*2024-02-14*

You cannot change the light color in the app. Can you please add this to the app? Also would be nice to open up the interfaces so we can easily control with home automation like home assistant or apple homekit. Thanks for listening!

### 4/5 — Basic functions and monitoring are great

*2024-01-11*

Nice to be able to run basic things and monitor conditions from the app without having to go to the outside panel. Would love to see a version available on Apple Watch. Also would be great to be able to toggle the light colors on the app as well as run a clean cycle. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Ok app

*2023-12-20*

Spa says ready when you connect to it. It seems to work ok.

### 4/5 — Straightforward setup

*2023-12-08*

So far so good - had a small request for next revision or update - can we add some shortcuts (Apple shortcuts app)? Control of my hot tub in the Apple ecosystem is what I’m really after. Would love to be able to run cleaning cycles automatically and bring the tub in and out of summer savings mode according to a schedule, or dial the temp down during certain times then bring it up to desired value just prior to use. Thanks!

### 3/5 — Hopeful

*2025-02-26*

I love our spa and the salt system IQ. I’m hoping they will invest in this app. Would be a game changer!

For now, it’s lame the app doesn’t have the same functionality as the display. Can’t control lights with any precision, etc.

### 3/5 — Reduced flow error faulty

*2024-12-01*

From the first week, I got the spa. I was getting a reduced flow error email 25 or so per day. I changed the filter recently still getting them so I’m asking my contact at the store where I bought the spa to reach out to Hot Springs. there’s obviously a sensor problem otherwise I love the spa I had a hot spring sovereign for 25 years and just bought a hot spring relay so I trust Hot Springs and think it’s the best on the market.

### 3/5 — Ready for more

*2024-07-08*

Hot Springs/Watkins: Please add viewing of water IQ info on app.. for what we pay for this it should be an option. Clean cycle via app would also be nice . Next update ????
RaNae

### 3/5 — Need more info

*2024-06-19, version 1.11*

Can’t see the Water IQ info PH Chlorine salt level like it shows on spa display. Would be nice when away to keep up with water condition.
