I have had the HourMate app for a number of years now and it helps me and anyone who’s in earshot, the hour count. There has been a couple of times where it has stopped announcing but a quick email to them straightens things out.

This app only works if it is on all the time. If you close it it doesn’t work in the background like other apps do. If the developers fix this then it’s pretty nice and worth more stars.

I actually wanted to pay for the pro version but not until I have tried the free app, I had wanted an app that will announce time hourly, but this app will simply NOT do that, even after granting all permissions; neither did the developer reply my mail, very poor business approach. I won't risk 4 bucks for any worthless app!.

I should have read the reviews. As others note, it REQUIRES you to allow location services. Absolutely unnecessary for a chime every 60 minutes. I deleted it less than 5 minutes after I downloaded.

This app requested to use my location all the time. Why does an app that only sends me hourly notifications need my location all the time, or ever even. I respect my privacy too much to allow that.

The notification stated they don't record it in any way, but that doesn't mean they don't receive the information. And for a hourly reminder app it is not necessary at all. I deleted it.

Why on earth would you require always-on location for a reminder app? Using scheduled local-notifications is the obvious way to do this and has nothing to do with location. Guessing the developer has some kind of monetization SDK in here. Shady.

All this app has to do is chime on the hour. It’s really not that hard! However the damn app keeps asking for location data to be on permanently. This is completely unnecessary. It’s a breach of privacy & a battery drain. Plus if you turn it off the app stops working! Take your app & shove it up your A***

Followed instructions to the letter. Don’t work !! Don’t waste your time installing. Have tried this on two different iPhones, this app it will not work. No customer support and their website no longer operational. Apple should remove this app from the App Store so people don’t get ripped of paying for something that will not work.

I have been looking for an hourly "chime" for my phone that runs in the background & I don't have to remember to open. This app is just that it also has a on/off switch which is perfect for when you don't want it on. Great app I'm glad I found it!!

I'm thinking all these people with bad reviews must have the power button on their app turned off, or must not have allowed push notifications.

Works wonderfully, even with no app in the background! Perfect for what I needed.

I simply wanted something to beep at me hourly during the day to remind me to get up from my desk and MOVE! 

I was concerned when other reviewers said it didn't work, but I figured I had nothing to lose since it was free. 

When I downloaded and opened the app, my phone asked if I wanted to allow it to make notifications and I said Yes. Works great for me!  Perhaps the other reviewers didn't give it permission to work on their phones...

I even fully closed the app so it wasn't open in the background and it STILL beeped for me on the hour. 

Also, I like the simple clean app design. Well done!
