## What is HouseCurve?

HouseCurve is a multi-tool for audio systems. Use it for room correction, adjusting equalizers, setting subwoofer phase, choosing crossovers and more.

Features:

* Sine sweep and real time pink noise measurements
* Sweep measurements can be averaged as they are collected
* Alternatively, use real time tool to collect moving mic measurements (MMM)
* Compare measurements to a selected target curve
* Create and edit target curves
* Generate room correction filters (PEQ or FIR)
* Filters compatible with a variety of systems including Roon, Volumio, CamillaDSP, EqualizerAPO, miniDSP and Crestron DM NAX
* Display magnitude, phase and group delay
* Use with built-in or external microphones
* Connect with AirPlay, Bluetooth, headphone jack (analog) or use external stimulus

HouseCurve measures in-room frequency response by listening to your audio system play a sine sweep. Measurements are displayed on top of a target curve, making it easy to see where adjustment is needed. Multiple measurements can be averaged to fully capture how the system sounds in the listening area. With small changes and repeat measurements, you can manually tune your system to the target curve. If your audio system has a parametric equalizer or convolution engine, HouseCurve can automatically generate filter settings to match the target curve.

HouseCurve can help with home and car audio system tuning, from system equalization and room correction to subwoofer time alignment and speaker placement. Visit housecurve.com for more information on how HouseCurve works and how to use it.

HouseCurve will produce acceptable results with the built in iPhone/iPad microphone. Using calibrated external microphones will provide higher accuracy.

The free version of HouseCurve can measure your audio system and display a magnitude plot (aka "frequency response"). Additional features, such as room correction filter generation, advanced measurement tools and target curve editing can be obtained via in-app purchases.

### 4/5 — Bluetooth delay

*2026-06-03, version 6.0.2*

Needs a longer test chirp to avoid issues with bluetooth delay

### 5/5 — Easier Than REW, Less Expensive Than Dirac

*2026-02-26, version 6.0.2*

I’m really impressed by this app, it just makes everything so easy, just like it should be. Setting up a mic? Easy. Running a sweep? Easy. Generating a response curve? Easy. Copying that curve into miniDSP PEQ settings? Easy. Getting stoked on how your system sounds after setting up your new PEQ? EASY.

### 5/5 — Good job!

*2026-01-15, version 6.0.2*

This is a great, easy to use tool. Just invest an hour reding the directions and you’ll be good to go. It made my expensive stereo sound like I thought it should and could sound. Sound went from good to amazing. It also helped me fix a large bass dip 14 db at 125 hz. Moved my speakers closer to front wall to get it to 8 db and was able to correct it to 1.5db dip. Nice

### 5/5 — Good app that I’ve seen that uses the iPhones microphone

*2026-01-11, version 6.0.2*

A microphone is more than good enough for simple, manual EQ, but most apps don’t use it or don’t compensate, this app does both and for a decent (at least when I purchased it). While not exactly necessary, I do wish that they added true support for headphones.

### 1/5 — Will not work

*2025-11-28, version 6.0*

Will not connect to iPhone.

### 3/5 — First time

*2025-11-23, version 6.0*

Worked until I purchased the 2 upgrades now it won’t connect and play

### 5/5 — User friendly

*2025-09-19, version 5.3.1*

Tried it with a UMIK-1 and was able to add the calibration files. Bought the add-on and I’m really happy with the average and save options.

### 5/5 — Easy and compatible with Equalizer APO

*2025-06-09, version 5.2.3*

Simple and does what it does well. Exported to the PEQ format and dropped right into my Equalizer APO without a hitch.

I personally enjoyed the “cuts only” version much more, but YMMV!

### 1/5 — Just doesn’t work

*2025-05-19, version 5.2.1*

Seems like I’ve paid three times and the app keeps asking me to upgrade.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-05-03, version 5.2.1*

I really like the concept behind this app. Unfortunately it is unable to connect to any of my airplay music systems so no bueno

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 6.0.2 — 2025-12-06

* Fixed issue where Sweep measurements were low quality when using older test signal files. If you are using a test signal from v6.0 - 6.0.1, please export a fresh file to avoid low quality measurements.
* Fixed issue where Sweep measure button did not update when enabling external stimulus.

### 6.0.1 — 2025-11-30

* Fixed issue where re-sampled FIR filters had slightly different magnitude responses (thanks to Kenneth for reporting this :-)

### 6.0 — 2025-11-20

HouseCurve 6.0 adds a real time measurement tool. Use it to live tune graphic equalizers and subwoofers or capture moving mic measurements (MMM) for use with the Equalize tool.

Additional changes:
* Improved menu system makes better use of screen space on iPads.
* Measurement data files are now accessible via the app document folder. Users can copy measurement files to other devices or back them up.
* Measurement management moved to a separate tool. This lays the ground work for a nicer view / compare features in the future.
* The Tuning Bundle can now be purchased for one year (non-renewing subscription) or a lifetime unlock. Existing purchases are all considered lifetime unlocks - thank you for your support!

### 5.3.1 — 2025-09-17
