## What is Household Pet?

Household Pet keeps the health record of every animal in your household — dogs, cats, horses, cattle, rabbits, birds, ferrets and reptiles — in one tidy place, and reminds you the day a booster, heartworm dose or flea treatment is due.

Every animal's record, neat and complete.
Vaccinations, medications, weight, microchip or ear tag number, vet visit notes, parasite prevention — anything you'd otherwise scribble in a paper booklet or hunt for in your email. Add a photo, log the date, move on. Export the whole record as a clean PDF to take to your next vet appointment.

Horses and cattle, named properly.
A gelding is not just "a horse" and a heifer is not just "a cow", so the app works out what each animal is actually called from its sex, age and whether it is neutered, and keeps up as it grows. Cattle are not microchipped, so the ID field asks for the official ear tag number instead. All of it carries through to the record you share with your vet.

Reminders built for US schedules.
Core puppy and kitten series, rabies boosters at the right interval, annual vaccinations, and year-round heartworm and flea prevention. Push notifications land at a sensible time of day; tap the reminder to mark it done or snooze it a day. Anything we don't publish a schedule for, you can set a reminder for yourself.

Start on your computer, finish on your phone.
Typing a 15-digit microchip number on a phone is no fun. Install the app, fill your animal's details in at us.household.pet/add-pet on a full-size keyboard, then scan the code with your phone's camera — it arrives already entered, ready to check and save.

AI symptom guidance, conservative by design.
When something feels off, the symptom assistant takes a description of what's happening and gives clear next-step guidance: monitor at home, call the vet today, or get to an emergency clinic now. It is not a substitute for veterinary advice — and it tells you so, every time. When in doubt, the assistant errs toward "call your vet."

Works offline, at the vet.
The whole record lives on your phone in an encrypted database, so you can flip through a vaccination history in an exam room with no signal. Everything syncs the moment you're back online.

Share with the people who need to see it.
Invite your partner, your kids or another owner to share a pet's record in full — free on every plan, up to 10 people per pet, and you can revoke access any time. Your vet gets read-only access free as well. Pet sitters, boarders and groomers get their own read-only view on Plus, scoped to that role and expiring on a date you choose.

Your data, your terms.
We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. We don't track you off the app. Records for US accounts are stored on servers in the United States. Delete your account from inside the app whenever you like and every row is wiped within 14 days.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Auto-renewal can be turned off any time from your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription.

Horses and cattle, not just house pets
Household Pet now covers horses and cattle, so the mare in the pasture and the cat on the couch keep their records in the same place. Each animal is called what it actually is rather than just "horse" or "cow" — a gelded male horse reads as a gelding, a six-month-old male calf as a bull calf, a castrated bull over two as a steer — and the word keeps up on its own as the animal grows. Cattle are not microchipped, so instead of a microchip number the app asks for the official ear tag. Horses are chipped like any other animal, so they keep the microchip field. All of it carries through to the page you share with your vet, and to the vet report and claim PDFs.

Add a pet from your computer
Fifteen digits of microchip number is no fun on a phone keyboard. Go to https://us.household.pet/add-pet on a computer, fill in what you know, then scan the code with your phone's camera — the app opens with everything already entered and you just check it and save. The details travel inside the code itself, so nothing is sent to us and the page needs no account at all. The pet sitter sheet works the same way.

A few smaller things
A pet's species can now be changed. If the wrong one was picked on the way in, Edit will sort it out — the app asks first, and rebuilds any upcoming vaccination reminder to suit the new species.

Reminders that actually turn up
Set a reminder for the heartworm pill, the annual shots, the flea and tick treatment you keep meaning to do on the first of the month — and your phone will tell you when it is time. The first time you create one, we ask whether you would like alerts. Nothing arrives unless you say yes, and tapping an alert takes you straight to that reminder.

Sharing a pet is now free
Looking after a pet is rarely a one-person job, so inviting a co-owner is now part of the free plan. Your partner, your roommate, whoever does the morning walk — everyone works from the same health record instead of a group chat and a photo of a vaccination card. Up to 10 people in total can be on one pet, and a pet somebody shares with you does not use up your free pet.
Sharing with your vet is free as well. Sitters, boarders, and groomers are still part of Plus.

A few smaller things
If you own a pet and decide to leave it, the app now tells you plainly what happens next — the co-owner who has been there longest takes over. 
And when your phone cannot get online, the app stays where you left it instead of asking you to sign in again. Everything you have saved is already on the device.
