## What is Houselights for setlist.fm?

IMPORTANT:
You'll need your own setlist.fm API key, free to request at api.setlist.fm. The app gates onboarding behind a key check and verifies it against setlist.fm on save.

Houselights is a native iOS client for setlist.fm — search your favourite artists, browse their concerts, view what they played live, and keep a personal log of every show you've ever attended.
Privacy-first by design. No analytics, no ads, no location tracking, no accounts on any server we operate. The only data leaving your device goes directly to setlist.fm and a few Apple services, for queries you've explicitly made.
Features
• Browse and search setlists from millions of concerts via setlist.fm
• Save your favourite artists for quick access
• Personal attended-shows log with statistics — most-seen artist, songs heard live, venues visited, and more
• "Songs by album" donut chart on every concert and on each artist's statistics screen, powered by Apple Music's catalog
• Concert-day weather forecast for upcoming shows, powered by Apple WeatherKit
• Local time at the venue — shown automatically when it differs from your device's time zone
• Friends list — follow other setlist.fm users and see what they're attending
• Concert reminders that fire at 8 PM in the venue's local time, on the day of the show
• Optional Apple Music playlist export — turn any setlist into a saved Apple Music playlist with one tap (requires an Apple Music subscription)
• Optional iCloud sync — your API key, library, friends, and city locations follow your Apple ID across iPhone and iPad
• Built with SwiftUI for iPhone and iPad

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.3 — 2026-07-27

New in 1.4

• Your venues on a map — In Statistics → Top venues, tap the map button
to see everywhere you've been on one map, for you or any friend. Each
pin shows how many shows you caught there.

• Much smoother — My Shows now scrolls cleanly even with thousands of
concerts, and the map pans and zooms without stutter — especially the
first time it places a lot of venues.

• Improved show sync - Only sync everything when changes are detected

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-21

Added Home Screen widget for "On this Day".
Improved statistics for attended concerts.

### 1.2.2 — 2026-06-16

Fixed artist photo framing: the area you select when adjusting a photo now matches exactly how it appears on your artist page — including on iPad, where the crop could previously look zoomed in or cut off.

### 1.2.1 — 2026-06-15

Frame your artist photos exactly how you like.

• Adjust framing — pan and pinch-zoom an artist's header photo to get
the perfect crop, without ever changing the original image.
• Works with both your own photos and the artwork Houselights shows.
• Re-frame your own photos anytime from Settings.
• Framing for your custom photos syncs across your devices via iCloud,
and all framing is included when you export your data.

Plus minor polish and fixes.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-06-13

Make every artist your own.

• Your own artist photos — Don't love the image we found for an artist?
Now you can set your own. Long-press any artist's photo (or tap
"Add artist photo") and pick from Photos or Files. Your choice replaces
the automatic artwork everywhere that artist appears — lists, search,
  statistics, and the artist screen.
• Syncs with iCloud — Photos you add follow you across every device
signed into the same Apple ID.
• Manage them in one place — A new Custom Artist Images screen in Settings
lets you review and remove the photos you've added. They're never touched
  when you clear cached images.
• Part of your export — "Export my data" now includes your custom artist
  photos alongside everything else.
• Private by design — Adding a photo never asks for photo-library access,
and location and other metadata are stripped from images on import.

Plus reliability improvements to iCloud sync and the usual polish.
