### 3/5 — It doesn’t work

*2026-06-08, version 5.11.0*

I try to write up neighborhood problems and it crashes or it won’t have a category for me to report on. But it used to work great a couple years ago.

### 2/5 — No results

*2024-04-14, version 5.11.0*

I request and still not done app does update to let u know there are running behind or status

### 3/5 — A connection attempt failed

*2023-06-26, version 5.11.0*

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed

### 2/5 — Prefer the old version

*2022-08-25, version 5.1.11*

I liked the older 311 app. I really liked being able to put an item on a map. Not so useful to open a website. I don’t need an app for that. Thank you.

### 1/5 — Now impossible to submit an issue

*2019-04-16, version 5.1.11*

This was previously a useful app, now totally useless. Can’t quickly submit an issue of any kind. Mostly just a link to the city of Houston website which does not render on a mobile device correctly. Hard to believe our tax dollars have been spent to develop an app that feels like it was developed by a fifth grade computing class.

### 1/5 — This “upgrade” TOTALLY broke a formerly useful app

*2019-02-08, version 5.1.11*

The new app makes it all but impossible to quickly photo locate and report issues. Rather it seems to be designed to send you on wild chases to internet sites instead of getting your issue quickly into the system. Absolutely worse than worthless! Bring back the old version.

### 1/5 — Bad!

*2019-02-05, version 5.1.11*

Whatever they did to the app it is now broken. Perhaps they didn’t want us to report. Too many problems to deal with!

### 1/5 — Does not accept street address info ???

*2019-02-04, version 5.1.11*

I thought the app would be a better option than to hold on-line for hours. Well, turns out that you can not report a service request with street information ? Keeps sending an error report and suggests calling!! So sitting on hold is your only option.

### 1/5 — Hasn’t worked for weeks

*2018-12-18, version 4.6.1*

Doesn’t let you submit an issue. Doesn’t show any issues right now in all of Houston.

### 3/5 — Not working

*2018-10-26, version 4.6.1*

I’ve been trying to report an electricity pole that is near a school and it won’t let me send the msg. This needs to be fixed ASAP

### 1/5 — App not connected to the server

*2018-10-16, version 4.6.1*

The app is currently giving a connection error despite no issues with internet connectivity on the users end. Please address as soon as possible.

### 1/5 — Can’t submit issues

*2018-10-14, version 4.6.1*

I can’t submit any issues through the app. It’s the main reason I downloaded the app. Please fix and update with new feature. This app has huge potential if done right.

Feature I would like to see:
1. Able to pay bills and tickets with Apple Pay
2. Find local post offices, hours
3. Ability to view previous submissions and how they were handled / closed
4. Find voting locations and hours

The list could be endless!

### 1/5 — Connection Error Occurred

*2018-10-14, version 4.6.1*

Unable to Finish Uploading Report.
Is what it says, can’t upload reports.

### 2/5 — Needs an UPDATE!!!

*2018-08-20, version 4.6.1*

Useful app, but there needs to be an update!! I can’t submit anything ever, it’s always saying “error occurred, saved to drafts” smh

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Abandon-ware

*2026-06-26, version 5.11.0*

still no iPad support… and the app hasn’t been updated in over three years. It feels like abandoned-ware, especially since when if report an issue, it’s automatically flagged as “resolved“ without the issue actually being fixed.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2026-05-07, version 5.11.0*

I have requested a new recycle bin like 8 times in this app- the lid on mine is missing because it broke off in the truck. Now every other week you get a bin full of wet cardboard at the curb. Do better.

### 1/5 — Useless in 2025

*2025-11-12, version 5.11.0*

They used to resolve issues, but now they just gaslight to “resolve” issues without doing anything. They claim problems don’t exist or have already been resolved when it’s simply not true.

### 1/5 — Communication is terrible

*2025-01-26, version 5.11.0*

Never get a response to service request except cryptic inter-dept messages and the dreaded “request has been closed”

### 1/5 — To submit

*2021-12-11, version 5.1.11*

Why did the way to submit like pot holes change I like thruway I could upload the picture and it was easier to make a request

### 1/5 — Terrible app, barely works

*2021-05-13, version 5.1.11*

For the past few months, the app just gives a connection error message when trying to submit a report. When you are finally able to submit a report, it gets closed without actually reaching the city.

### 1/5 — Not sure if it’s working

*2020-11-23, version 5.1.11*

I do not see any evidence of these complaints being taken seriously.

### 1/5 — No longer works on iOS

*2020-11-13, version 5.1.11*

Love the app when it works. But when you try and launch a category, nothing happens. Uninstalling and reinstalling did not work.

### 1/5 — Not working

*2020-11-12, version 5.1.11*

App doesn’t work seems it broke a while ago.

### 1/5 — Clunky

*2019-05-20, version 4.6.1*

The app and the 311 website are clunky and difficult to successfully navigate. You're better off just sending an email.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Rob the Travel

*2026-02-11, version 5.11.0*

This is a game changer for support!

### 5/5 — Siri Houston app is great

*2024-02-16, version 5.11.0*

The city Houston app is really great to use really convenience also

### 5/5 — Informative

*2021-01-14, version 5.1.11*

Lots of services linked to the app. Maps work well. Many tools

### 5/5 — Impressed!

*2019-10-15, version 5.1.11*

I’m pleasantly surprised by the ease with which I can submit issues (traffic light problem, broken sign, etc). It’s also very easy to follow the progress of your submitted issues.

I was unable to submit a photo for one of the issues, but overall it’s a great step forward in keeping us citizens involved in bettering our city. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Great App for Houston (proper) Only

*2019-02-10, version 5.1.11*

This is one of the best citizen GIS (Geographic Information Systems) apps I have seen.

It’s seems that if you take multiple pictures (different angles for good documentation) and submit them along in the comments section of the issue the city of Houston will address the issue quickly. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I wish the surrounding cities (Sugarland, Richmond, etc.) all tied into this 1 app.

It seems all the push pins in the surrounding cities are not being addressed and left as open incidents. Send email the mayor’s office of your city to tie into the 311 GIS app and let us fix Houston area!

Great job app developers!!

### 5/5 — Changes to app now worse.

*2019-02-02, version 5.1.11*

Used to be able to app but now different. Does not work.

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2017-11-14, version 4.6.1*

I use this app weekly. Excellent for reporting all those crazy potholes around the city.

### 5/5 — Was hesitant but actually useful

*2016-01-23, version 4.6.1*

I downloaded this app when Turner took office because he was touting it ; I figured I might as well give it a try. It's actually a very handy app! I reported a burnt traffic light bulb and it was fixed less than 24 hours later .

The app was easy to use as well. My only warning is that you must create an account and sign in before reporting your first issue .

### 5/5 — Finally!

*2016-01-08, version 4.6.1*

I'm so glad that Houston finally implementing an app for this. Excited to use it.

### 5/5 — Awesome!

*2015-12-08, version 4.6.1*

Truly awesome. Thanks to Houston for being a leader in civic tech with this app.
