I think Apple did an upgrade and suddenly that icon disappeared. My husband got to use the camera icon on his phone about two weeks longer than me but now for months it’s been gone. Houzz’s answer is use their website. My question is then, why have an app? Please fix this as soon as possible. I was able to get through using vertical view (which I loathe), but then it would not let me see the options or pull down the next button which I could only see half of. This is the number one app? For sales and visualization, Planner 5D is far better for 3D modeling and scans. For payments, Truss allows secure large ACH payments for free. For marketing, there are also better options—HBM for Builders (owned by Seth) has worked well for me. They may do some work on Houzz at times but at least I don’t have to deal with it. My biggest issue with Houzz is their customer service and at this time their payment system, in the past their subscription model. They automatically opt you into their payment platform and will process payments you didn’t ask them to without an invoice or payment date, you can only disable the payments on your PC. The app makes it seems like it will only be used if you sign up which I did not. In my case, my client signed the contract on Houzz but I had already sent the invoice through Truss so I deleted all mention of Houzz payments, only created pay schedule without dates until I spoke with client. Houzz then prompted my client to pay through their system instead. My client paid and was charged a fee large fee for what is always a free ACH transaction. Houzz then told me I had $$,$$$.00 waiting and that I needed to provide my bank details or the funds would be “deleted” in four days, whatever that means. They never offered to return the random fee for a free ACH everywhere else to my customer and kept claiming I hadn’t taken a payment, even after I sent proof. After sending proof and sharing they had essentially walked to my project took payment, no one asked them to and that I didn’t bill through Houzz, they robbed me and my guys salaries that normally would have been paid next day and how would they feel if I did the same to their pay check and then held it ransom for a fee…..they stopped responding. I already paid $2,500 to sign up again in December believing they had resolved issues from the past. Previously I stopped using them due to misleading subscription terms in their contract that conflicted between monthly and yearly billing. Again gas lighting customer service has no tools to resolve problems. Between the forced payment system, confusing billing terms, and lack of real customer support, I will never use Houzz again. Builders: save your money and use better tools listed above. ### 5/5 — Beautiful and functional design *2026-02-27, version 26.2.8* Excellent work — very clean layout and great material selection. The balance between functionality and aesthetics is impressive. As a tile & marble installation company, we truly appreciate thoughtful designs like this that allow craftsmanship to stand out. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Respected company on decline *2026-08-09, version 26.6.16* Chads Design Build of Madison who took $24,500 of our money and did not provide us with a design. Their designer for the floor plans, Maryam, was inexperienced, not creative, could not use their software, unable to read the architectural designs we brought initially, and not knowledgeable about building codes. Chad did not see any problem with her numerous errors: leaving out the radiator system, spelling our name wrong, putting other people’s names and addresses on our designs, not making changes we requested in her each successive and last draft she gave us (after six months). We kept asking her to provide options for the length of treads and risers on the relocated stairwell, or to suggest new locations for the stairs so we didn’t lose a whole room. She did not know building codes for ceiling heights above stairs, not knowing how to use software to show us alternatives, and not responding to our requests to map radiators and pipes so we could come up with a design to avoid having to move them. Incompetent, sloppy, and not standing behind their work. Now I’m getting spam calls and texts from dozens of numbers ever 30 minutes. After that, I experienced repeated issues with their customer service that made the entire experience extremely frustrating. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend doing business with this company. A fraudster without a license stole $47k from me after finishing half the project, not to code, and then bailing. Do not use contractors on Houzz.
