## What is Howard?

Your body keeps score. Howard helps you stay ahead of it.

Whether you're a first responder grinding through back-to-back shifts, an athlete pushing through a training block, or someone who simply refuses to settle for "fine," Howard gives you a complete, real-time picture of your wellness and the tools to act on it.

Most wellness apps count steps and call it a day. Howard connects the dots between your sleep, stress, nutrition, fitness, recovery, and the demands of your actual life to deliver coaching that's personal, timely, and grounded in real data.

Built by SWORN.ai and shaped by years of work with law enforcement leaders, elite trainers, and behavioral scientists.

What Howard does that others don't:

--> Works with the wearable you already own. Direct integrations with Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, and Fitbit, plus Apple Health and Health Connect. Connect once and Howard reads your sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, and workouts automatically.

--> The SWORN Band. Our own wearable, built for people who can't wear a watch on duty. Continuous heart rate, HRV, SpO2, skin temperature, sleep staging, and a single-lead ECG you can take in 30 seconds. Workouts you start on the band import on their own, no phone required.

--> Real-time biometric dashboard. Live stress, recovery, sleep, and training load, synthesized into a single readiness score you can act on before the shift, not after it.

--> AI coaching that adapts to your day. Personalized micro-coaching (hydration cues, recovery prompts, mindful breaks) delivered based on what's actually happening in your schedule, not a generic reminder.

--> Shift and training-aware intelligence. Howard doesn't just log your workouts. It correlates sleep, HRV, nutrition, and workload against your duty patterns or training cycles to surface the insights that matter.

--> Holistic by design. Sleep, nutrition, fitness, stress, workload intensity, and the personal factors that affect performance. Readiness isn't one-dimensional and Howard doesn't treat it that way.

--> Nutrition without the data entry. Scan a Nutrition Facts label with your camera, scan a barcode, snap a photo of your plate, or just describe what you ate. Log the same breakfast in one tap.

--> Voice stress check-ins. Quick voice samples before, during, and after high-demand periods to objectively measure your stress levels against your personal baseline.

--> Resources where you are. Wellness support curated by your agency (mental health providers, recovery centers, health clinics) on a map, so you can find them when you need them.

Your data stays yours. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Never sold, never shared with advertisers. We use anonymous product analytics, identified only by an account number and never your name or email, to see which features get used. That's it.

Built for people who perform under pressure.
First responders. Competitive athletes. Tactical professionals. Weekend warriors training for their first ultra. Anyone whose life or livelihood depends on showing up ready.

For teams and organizations:
Howard gives leadership quantifiable wellness metrics to improve retention, reduce risk, and support their people before burnout hits, all without compromising individual privacy. Agency dashboards surface aggregated, anonymized trends across a unit or shift, so leaders can see where recovery needs attention without ever seeing an individual's data.

Howard isn't another wellness tracker. It's a readiness platform for people who take performance seriously.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.23 — 2026-08-29

Scan a nutrition label with your camera.
• Nutrition label scanning — point your camera at a Nutrition Facts panel and Howard fills in the calories, macros and micronutrients for you. Works on packaged foods that aren't in the food database.
• Fixed: individual food items are saved correctly with every meal, and editing a meal no longer clears its item list.
• Caffeine is now tracked, both from labels and on custom foods.
• Every nutrient a food reports is now shown, grouped by type.

SWORN Band and Ring
• Workouts you start on the device are now imported automatically — no phone needed.
• Naps now appear in your sleep detail alongside your main night.
• Battery level for your paired band or ring is shown on the home screen.
• Faster, more reliable sync, and more accurate distance and calories.
• Live heart rate now locks on in seconds instead of a minute.

Also fixed
• Blood pressure readings showed the wrong time of day.
• Voice check-ins could be filed under the wrong date.
• Tapping a group of activities on the map now opens the list of what's there.
• Wearable workouts were incorrectly labelled as dispatch records.
• Sleep coach now reads "7h 49m" rather than "7.8h", and labels your bed window as "In bed".

### 2.0.21 — 2026-08-21

• Live heart rate now works with Polar and other chest straps, and with WHOOP
and Garmin once you switch broadcast mode on — not just the SWORN Ring and
Band. Howard shows you where that setting lives when you connect one.
(Oura, Fitbit and Apple Watch don't offer this, so they aren't supported.)

• Starting a workout now tells you up front what it will actually record, so
you know before you begin whether heart rate is coming.

• Google Calendar is available to everyone. Connect it and Howard suggests
activities from your calendar for you to review — nothing is added without
  your say-so.

• Log Fitness now fills in the start time for you and shows duration and
estimated calories as you edit, and both appear on the Activities list.

• Settings: you can back out of an edit without saving, fields you can change
are clearly marked, and a weight change now updates your health metrics.

• Fixed calorie estimates ignoring the gender on your profile.

• Fixed the breakfast reminder still nudging you after you'd logged breakfast.

• Fixed a black-screen flash on launch (iPhone).

• Where a resting heart rate reading isn't trustworthy yet, Howard no longer
presents it as a health assessment.

### 2.0.19 — 2026-08-14

Fixes and improvements:

- Fixed the Recent tab in Log Meal failing to open. This affected anyone who had not yet logged a meal.
- New: track a workout live and watch your heart rate as you train, straight from your SWORN Ring or Band.
- Your SWORN Ring now shows up by name, and Settings updates as soon as you pair it.
- Heart rate zones now use your real age instead of a default, so your zones and calorie estimates are accurate.
- Fixed a crash on the Fitness screen.
- More reliable Bluetooth: Howard now notices when your ring or band disconnects instead of showing old readings.
- Improved device compatibility, so Howard installs on more phones and tablets.

### 2.0.18 — 2026-07-30

• SWORN Band & Ring support — pair over Bluetooth for continuous heart rate, HRV, SpO₂, skin temperature, steps, sleep stages, and on-demand ECG.
• Redesigned Sleep detail — a clearer night-by-night view of your sleep stages, with a Sleep Coach summary of what the night actually did for you.
• More accurate sleep tracking — bedtimes and sleep efficiency now reflect your real night. Your scores may look a little different, and a lot more honest.
• Connect your wearable during setup — Oura, Fitbit, WHOOP and Garmin now connect properly from onboarding.
• Home screen improvements — faster hydration logging, easier photo retakes when logging meals, and clearer trend charts.
• Numerous stability, layout and accessibility fixes throughout the app.
