### 5/5 — Very cool and fun app to use!

*2022-05-10, version 1.6*

This app is amazing with great features. It allows you to meet people who also love to try different food. There are plenty of food that looks unfamiliar that anyone would love to try to make because of its easy recipes. Various different food cards are available that seem very interesting! It also allows you to capture food snaps and upload them so that other people can see it. There are many recipe tips and tricks that are very useful. It would make your life much easier when you are cooking for yourself, family or friends. I would highly recommend anyone to download this app especially if you are a huge food lover and
willing to meet new people and make friends!

### 5/5 — Pretty Good

*2022-05-09, version 1.6*

Love the concept of seeing what other post. There are some great recipes and people. The only thing is that this app feels like tinder but for food, which is a cool concept but then you have the “yumm” button which feels like Instagram. I think there should be 1 concept and not multiple wrapped into one.

### 5/5 — Great food sharing idea

*2022-05-06, version 1.6*

This app is a unique way to create dishes that goes beyond just finding a recipe online. The ability to see a picture of someone’s final dish really makes a stronger connection to that person and their recipe.

My favorite feature is the ability to add tips and tricks to cooking. The app could use some functionality work as it ran a bit slow on my iPhone but that may just be because I have a 7+

### 5/5 — Best Concept for an App!

*2022-05-04, version 1.6*

Honestly, I’ve made a lot of friends physically because of food, so I was excited to try this! I gave myself some time to explore and see how I could work the app. I love the fact that you can look at the different foods right when you log in. It really gave me some food ideas, especially since I love cooking.

If I had to point out any issues, there are only a few. It’s hard getting to the different options. Most apps that are similar would have a navigation bar at the bottom, so that is the most critical issue. Other than that, the option to do most things is limited without the package. WHICH IS OKAY because that’s actually normal for these types of apps and that’s how most apps are funded.

I think I’ll continue using this for food and recipe ideas since it’s right up my alley!

### 5/5 — Great way to find friends thru food

*2022-05-02, version 1.6*

HowUdish is a great way to find people that love food and know what good food is. I can’t wait to see the new updates and how the app grows.

### 5/5 — Simple and Easy to use!

*2022-04-29, version 1.6*

Upload a photo, enter a couple of simple details, throw on some tags and hit create! Very simple and colorful design! And I love the swop right swipe left option! Also, it works hand in hand for freelancers who use up work! As I can easily use posts made here as references for my up work portfolio, as well as gain inspiration for new work!

### 5/5 — Amazing concept and cool app!!!

*2022-04-25, version 1.6*

I love the thoughts and ideas put behind this app. I find it really cool that you can create posts/cards about different meals or dishes you have made or weird combos you have created. For me as someone who is interested in learning more about cooking and discovering more dishes to create, I think this app would be perfect to improve my techniques and find new recipes to make. I find it interesting how this app is a platform that is like a mix of Pinterest and Tinder. You can swipe right on other foodies and make cooking friends! I would highly recommend this app to anybody looking for new meals to cook! I have had such a great experience with this app!

### 5/5 — Fun app for foodies

*2022-04-24, version 1.6*

I am STILL that person who posts every meal they eat on social media. Here is an app that actually encourages me to do this, and also matches me with other likeminded people in the area! I love the swiping function and I learn something new from the app everyday

### 5/5 — Very cool App

*2022-04-24, version 1.6*

Howudish is a really cool app for any foodie who’s trying to network or gather information from other foodies/food groups. As someone who owns their own foodstagram, I am regularly looking for ways to connect with other people passionate about food like me, and I think this is the perfect place to do that. The app is simple to use. Like anything new, it takes some time to adjust to the features and figure out how it works, but I was matching with other food posts and making my own in seriously no time at all. I would love to grow a platform on here with some more time and
dedication. I have an iPhone X, so I’m not sure if it was me or the app, but some of the features took some time to load. Longer than most apps. I would also like to be able to filter the kind of posts that I’m interesting in matching better! This may be a feature for a paid subscription? But, overall it’s a cool app and gives some good insight on where to eat and what people are cooking in their own homes.

### 5/5 — Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food

*2022-04-21, version 1.6*

HowUdish is a fantastic app, and I adore the concept behind it.
HowUdish is a fantastic platform for exchanging and sharing recipes, cuisine hacks, and restaurant recommendations. It's a fantastic approach for anyone's tongue taste buds to discover new flavors to explore. It gives individuals who utilize it with creativity and inspiration.
Apart from eating new dishes, there is something for you to do here. HowUdish is a place where you can discover new recipes as well as extremely amazing culinary hacks and trends. It's a fantastic chance to connect with the local community while also discovering delicious meals.

### 5/5 — Such a cool app!

*2022-04-19, version 1.6*

As a foodie, I love sharing my photos and seeing others as well. Everything looks so good! I think the best part of this app is that you can post food pics, but also tips (food hacks) & recipes. The food hacks are great and can reach you something that you might have never known before. They also help encourage a healthy lifestyle. I will definitely keep using this app!

### 5/5 — Very cool!

*2022-04-18, version 1.6*

This is a great app with a really cool vision!! I’m able to find tons of great recipes that fit with my lifestyle! Seeing food from different places and people is really neat too! Highly recommend this app if you’re bored of the same foods you always cook!

### 5/5 — Fun

*2022-04-17, version 1.6*

I like the idea behind this app. It’s very fun and easy to use. The kitchen tricks feature is cool.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-04-17, version 1.6*

I really like the UI design as it’s simple to navigate right from the first view of the app. I would have love if I could tap straight on my gmail and not having to enter it but asides from that I love the remaining bits of it. Notifications are important and I get them spot on! Kudos to you on the app!

### 5/5 — Great App To Learn And Connect With Others

*2022-04-10, version 1.6*

This app is super fun, I love having the chance to learn from others and meet new people who share common food interests.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2022-03-25, version 1.6*

Would not send me a pin so I could register so I deleted the app 🙁

### 3/5 — Good Idea…

*2022-05-09, version 1.6*

But lacking a little oomph. I will admit that I’m not much of a foodie, nor am I much of a cook. That may be part of why I didn’t fully enjoy this app. I think for people who are both of those things, this app would be something much more up their alley. In the amount of time that I used the app, I never got any matches. I think this app is a good idea, but I think it has so much more potential!

### 3/5 — Love the idea, but it just needs tweaking.

*2022-04-08, version 1.6*

First, let me say that I really like the idea behind this app. Some of my close friendships have been built off our relationship with food and the industry overall. That being said, this app is frustrating a lot of the times. Given the expectation that it is a social media app, I expect fluid transitions from one screen to another without any delays. Every time, I successfully created a new food snap, there was about a 3-5 second delay to go back to the main dashboard. Also, when creating a card (really like the idea of this being like a recipe card), I’d like to have the option to change my mind when I’m creating the card without going back to the previous screen to change it from a snap to a must-try.

I also realized that you can’t interact with anyone on the app unless you purchase one of the packages. This is fine, but maybe there should be a interaction limit before introducing the package? For instance, maybe you can get up to 5 free messages before you’re cut off with the intro of the price for the package so that people have more incentive to buy.

Lastly, I think it would be really cool if you’re able to tap on the some of the restaurant locations that people place on their cards. Overall, I’d like to reiterate that I do like the idea of the app and once improvements are made, I’d love to join the community and invite some friends too!

### 3/5 — Slow/missing settings

*2022-03-30, version 1.6*

You can tell not a lot of people are omit, I get the same 5 ppl. App is also pretty slow when trying to click around and see things. When I created a snap it takes me back to the create page and I have to back out twice to get to the main page. Genres also no way to delete your account once you make it so your stuck with it

### 3/5 — A good app but needs some tweaking

*2022-02-03, version 1.4*

I really loved the concept I just had a few notes.

1)there is some confusion with the yum function vs the swipe right function. I don’t know if they’re supposed to indicate the same thing and if so, why are there two separate functions for that one thing? It would be nice to have a tutorial in the settings or profile sections to refer to that explain the difference.

2)I would like the opportunity to scroll through people’s posts when visiting their profile, similar to Instagram. Or maybe make that an in-app purchase to incentivize.

3)I would maybe like the ability to edit photos in the app. Nothing too crazy but sometimes the photo is darker due to the text overlay.

4)I had a hard time finding any actual recipes. Would be nice if there was an “expand” option where people click on the photo and get the recipe if one is available.

### 4/5 — A fun & creative way to connect!

*2022-05-20, version 1.6*

I really like the idea behind this app and think that it is a creative way to connect with others over food and cooking. I am a foodie and absolutely love connecting with others over this shared interest. I do not have a lot of people in my life that I can share this passion with and think it is a brilliant idea to help others get connected over this interest. The app itself takes a bit of time to load which can be frustrating but it isn’t anything that would make me stop wanting to use it. I like that the sign-up process is quick and that it asks for the users permission for things like tracking. I do think that the profile setting should have an option for those who do not identify as a male or female, this could potentially drive away some users.

The “yuummmm” feature on the app is adorable and it is a cute and creative way of liking someone’s post. It would be nice if there was an option for a 7-day free trial for the paid version. I would like to be able to see what I am getting myself into before making the commitment of paying. I am unsure if this is an option or not for the paid version, but it would be cool if you could see if another member is active on the app while you are using it. Overall, I think this is a fun app and could definitely see myself using it as a way to connect with others in my area.

### 4/5 — A great idea with lots of potential

*2022-04-28, version 1.6*

I love the concept of this app! Such a great idea to connect foodies and I hope it continues to grow. My only feedback would be that I found it a little confusing to understand at first, and had a bit of a hard time navigating it. I think establishing a walkthrough tutorial which highlights the different parts of the app in real-time would be a great addition when the user opens the app for the first time. I saw a wide array of veggie dishes, but one suggestion I have is to add a veggie filter where only vegetarian or vegan foodies can connect. I’m a vegetarian, and it would be hard for me to connect to a meat-loving match and have a lot in common.

### 4/5 — Unique Idea and fun!

*2022-04-22, version 1.6*

I enjoyed using the app and I do think people can easily connect through food. Super easy to set up and go! I personally won’t be using it moving forward as I have other social media I want to focus my time on.

### 4/5 — Interesting Idea

*2022-04-10, version 1.6*

I tried this App and live in a small town so haven’t been matched yet. With time I hope there are more users in my area. It was easy to sign up, the user interface is well done.

### 4/5 — Great idea, can’t wait to see where it goes

*2022-04-08, version 1.6*

I have used HowUDish for about a month, so I've had some time to thoroughly test it and gather my thoughts about it. To start, I think the app is pretty intuitive to use. The interface is simple but aesthetically pleasing, and I like the colors. Overall, I think there’s a lot of room for this app to grow and become really popular, and become a great feature for foodies to connect.

I’ve seen some great food tips, recommendations, and kitchen hacks on this app which has been awesome! Also, some of the food pics that I’ve seen have been *chefs kiss* very inspirational and make me very hungry. I think it could be a great app once there are more users. With the number of users right now, I don't think it's feasible for it to be used as anything other than getting food recs in a specific city or "Must try" food inspiration.

I've tried to upload multiple cards but I haven't gotten any matches yet. I have gotten a lot of "Yummm"s though, so I do feel like people are interacting with my posts. But, since I haven't gotten any matches yet, I can't really speak to what it's like to try and message people from this app.

One thing though: I don’t understand the difference between “Yummm”, swiping right, and savings cards, and why we would need all 3. You can save cards to view again, but only 10 with the free version. I haven't found a way to look back on posts that I've either swiped or marked "Yummm" on, which I think would be a nice addition. But also, I think if I could look back on cards that I’ve “Yummm” reacted on, it would mean saving cards isn’t really necessary. I've seen some good food tips that I would want to look back on, but I can't find them back.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Howudish-my new fav quality app

*2022-07-20, version 1.7*

Very very nice app. The search is very effective, the app is a community in its own. The non premium version is also very useful. I think you can achieve a full user experience by allowing the user to enter the number of people and the quantities changes in response.

### 5/5 — Great

*2022-05-21, version 1.6*

This is great

### 5/5 — Fun and easy to use

*2022-05-19, version 1.6*

I really love the idea behind this app. I love trying new foods from all over, and this app makes it easy to do just that without having to travel anywhere. The app is easy to use, based on the very familiar swipe left/swipe right concept from other apps. I really like having a whole community full of recipes, tips, and tricks/“hacks” at my fingertips and being able to connect and bond with people over foods. It’s also easy to create your own cards to share with others. So far, I’ve not had a single bad experience or issue while using the app so I have no complaints at all. Definitely recommend downloading this app if you love food, fun, and community!

### 5/5 — Foodie Connection!

*2022-05-19, version 1.6*

As a self proclaimed foodie, there is nothing better than browsing delicious recipes and cooking hacks. HowUdish gives users the opportunity to swipe (yes, in the same was as in a dating app!) through tantalizing food pics and helpful food tips. In my personal life, I surround myself around food content through Instagram, TikTok, TV and more. HowUdish exposes me to types of food and recipes that my social content may have not curated for myself. I enjoy how each dish is truly new and it does not feel as if an algorithm is trying to figure out which cuisine I am in the mood for. It shows me everything!

One feature I would propose is to focus mainly on recipe content. Recipes are accesible to all, whereas restaurant pictures are not as useful to somebody who may live far away from that destination. While I’m always down to view a delicious looking meal, I’m more likely to not save it or like it if the location is not feasible to travel to. All in all, I’m definitely swiping right on the recipes and would love to see more of those so I can connect with other at home chefs with similar palates! Excited to see what this app will do next!

### 5/5 — Foodie?! Say No More!!!!

*2022-05-18, version 1.6*

I’m always looking for new apps to use especially if it involves food!!! Came across this app on the AppStore and I was skeptical at first whether or not I wanted to try it out. The app is very user-friendly, modern-looking UI design. Not only does it let you upload food photographs but you can also chat with other foodies!!! Download this app if you’re a person who likes to explore other foods while you can chat with other food lovers out there. 👌🏻

### 5/5 — Fun and informative!

*2022-05-18, version 1.6*

I love that they incorporated social with food. Super fun way to find new recipes and get feedback on yours. Also nice to have an appropriate mode to share food, rather than just sharing to your typical social media feeds.

### 5/5 — A fun concept on Social Apps

*2022-05-17, version 1.6*

We live in the era of social media as well as social apps. While HowUdish fits in that category it does so in a unique way. This is my first time really seeing an app have you match or interact with people based off of food. HowUdish takes your culinary tastes and helps you connect to people who feel the same. How you interact afterwards is up to you.

### 5/5 — Must have for foodies!

*2022-05-15, version 1.6*

I love love love the idea of this app. I usually take to Pinterest for recipes and hacks but being able to get them from someone who I could build a friendship with is the best! The first thing I noticed was the quick and easy profile setup. Creating cards is super easy they have a template for you and you just fill it in. The only downside is having to pay for a membership to interact with people. It’s $13-17 depending on the plan. There is a 3 day free trial period at the beginning of both plan options. If you’re a foodie and want some foodie friends this is the app for you.

### 5/5 — Helpful App🍽🍴

*2022-05-13, version 1.6*

It’s really an incredible useful app that allows you to search dishes based on location that matches your diet needs. I’ve found similar apps only to direct me to specific diet only restaurants but HowUdish allows you to go to all restaurants and make them fit within your diet. The swiping feature is very nice and helpful especially if you need recommendations.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2022-05-12, version 1.6*

Awesome, easy to navigate. Awesome tips. Cool people
