### 2/5 — Last update in 2022 …

*2026-04-27*

Really good emulator, but lacking an update (PC version last updated in 2026…. the iOS version is from 2022) Seriously !!

### 3/5 — Zoom the UI and Update the Software

*2025-08-14, version 2.1.14584*

Two issues, and then this app is 5 stars.

First, the UI should be zoomed in so that the buttons fill the screen. When the app first opens the UI is nicely zoomed in. But then it animates a zoom-out so that a title bar is shown. The title bar doesn’t do anything, and this also results in there being a large blank margin around the edge of the buttons. This results in the buttons being smaller than they otherwise would be. Keep the view zoomed in, or at least allow that as an option.

Second, the app has not been updated in 4 years, whereas the actual calculator’s software has been updated several times in that time period. Update this app to have the latest software that is running on the HP Prime G2 calculator.

With these two changes it is a 5 star app.

### 3/5 — Nice rendition of the HP Prime G2

*2025-04-20, version 2.1.14584*

It’s a little buggy and the developers don’t appear to update the software very frequently. The last update was over 3 years ago and the emulator has 2021 firmware as opposed to the real HP Prime G2 which has firmware dated 5/5/2025.

Aside from that, it’s still handy in that one doesn’t need to carry the physical calculator around.

It will connect to the HP Connectivity Kit, and one can transfer things between a real Prime G2 and the app as well as to and from the Prime emulator computer program. Because the app firmware is so dated, things exploiting newer firmware features won’t work properly on this app.

If the developer ever addresses these issues I’ll upgrade this review to 5 stars.

### 2/5 — Needs an update.

*2025-03-22, version 2.1.14584*

Functionally works as expected but needs an update to both resolution and responsive device scaling. This should be a priority as it is a misrepresentation of the product.

### 2/5 — Please update

*2025-03-13, version 2.1.14584*

Please update so it can be resized for larger phones.

### 3/5 — Great emulator except…

*2025-02-12, version 2.1.14584*

Works really well, and is much more convenient than carrying around my actual calculator most of the time.

My only gripe is that it doesn’t fill the screen. Please provide a simple update to make best use of all pixels available on my screen.

### 3/5 — Helpful Emulator; Much More So With Multi-tasking Support

*2025-02-04, version 2.1.14584*

I appreciate having the emulator available on my phone and tablet. It would be a lot more useful, though, with multi-tasking support so that I can reference numbers in one app while typing into the calculator. Slide-over support would be most useful. Split-view would be helpful in some other cases.

### 4/5 — Great Replica of the Calculator

*2024-04-22, version 2.1.14584*

Over all I love the representation of the calculator, but that makes it rather annoying to attempt to program on the calculator without the external keyboard. That was one of the biggest drawbacks to the actual calculator. If HP would simply use the native keyboard or alternative keyboard it would be more useful. Update: It does appear that HP is leaving the calculator market as they have sold the business to Royal Consumer. It appears that Royal is also not interested in staying in the market and has transferred the application to Moravia. It appears that the demise of the HP calculator is complete.

### 4/5 — Great calculator

*2024-02-23, version 2.1.14584*

The calculator works as it should and I haven’t had any issues so far. The app however scales its gui to fill the screen and it doesn’t look sharp. I would give it 5 stars if they improved this. The app is great.

### 4/5 — HP Prime App Update?

*2023-10-31*

Nice App which I use often for basic math,
and 2D and 3D graphs. A bit outdated on
newer iOS devices, and firmware is very old now.
Please update, also to include Python as it is included in the hardware-Original, and also in the PC/Mac-Emulator, thanks!

### 4/5 — Please update!

*2022-09-27, version 2.1.14584*

I just want to easily connect this to my connectivity kit and move over my backup from my actual calculator.

*2022-06-27*

Python都没有

### 3/5 — Transferência de App

*2022-04-11*

### 3/5 — Still works on iOS

*2022-03-30, version 2.1.14584*

The Hp Prime Pro is still functional!

### 3/5 — NEEDS UPDATING FOR MULTITASKING AND A NEW UI SKIN

*2021-10-16, version 2.1.14584*

NEEDS UPDATING. BADLY. A vertical mode with responsive resizing for iPad Pro multitasking is MISSING. BRING IT UP TO SPEED. Allow for more streamlined UI and connectivity tutorials.

### 3/5 — Update to fit new phones

*2021-08-02, version 2.1.14584*

Please update the app to be optimized for iPhone 11 Pro Max phone.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs to be updated to fit iPhones without a home button

*2022-08-07, version 2.1.14584*

Can’t believe this is still designed for the old iPhones with buttons.

It’s hard to and everything is too small. If it was updated to fit the new iPhones it could be zoomed in more making it much easier to see.

### 1/5 — 541T

*2021-10-09, version 2.1.14584*

Does not support floating window-within-window mode. So you have to switch back and forwards between the app and which ever other app you’re using.

### 1/5 — Don't do it.

*2021-07-12, version 2.1.14584*

NOT worth $30-40. It’s not easy to use, does not format properly to iOS devices (I have iPhone XR and iPad Pro 11 2020)… I want a refund..

### 1/5 — Bug in ATAN function

*2020-12-13, version 2.1.14346*

I did a calculation producing ~2.64. I have the angle setting to degree. I used the ATAN function with Ans/10 as the argument and the calculator gave the answer as ~2.64e-02 which is clearly wrong. So I repeated with ATAN(2.64/10) and got the answer 14.81º which I checked using a handheld calculator.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t support from iPhone 10 onwards

*2020-07-18, version 2.1.14346*

I’ve just paid the most I’ve ever paid for an app only to find it doesn’t fill the screen of my iPhone 11 Pro (nor any iPhone from 10 onwards). It’s sits in the middle of the screen with a big black bar at the top and bottom like an ugly out of date app for 5 years ago.
I was going to show this calculator app off to my colleagues at work on Monday but I’d be embarrassed to do so now.
Unbelievable!
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t conform to Apple’s latest rules either (an app must support all screen sizes of all compatible devices).
I want my money back or an urgent update. For the amount of money people have to pay for this and seeing the last update is 7 months ago, HP are nothing but thieves!

### 1/5 — Colar texto não funciona corretamente

*2020-04-11*

Exemplo do bug:

_Eu copio do Notas o código:_

EXPORT exemplo ()
BEGIN
PRINT (“Código exemplo de erro”);
END;

### 1/5 — Great if it works!

*2019-11-02, version 2.1*

I wish it made use of the entire screen and gave you the option of resizing the graphing/calculating screen. It's also not usable currently and just shuts down when I try to use CAS made to calculate anything.

### 1/5 — CAS crashes

*2019-10-04, version 2.1*

Cannot solve with CAS mode. Just crashes app. Considering cost of app, very disappointed.
This was updated 11 months ago. I expect better from h.p. I'm a long time hp calculator user, and own the prime calculator. It's not perfect, but at least it's pretty stable, and gets regular updates. Too bad hp can't find the time to put a little care into the prime app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works just like the real calculator

*2025-02-06, version 2.1.14584*

I saw a lot of negative reviews here, and I almost didn’t download this software. But I eventually downloaded it and was amazed that I had absolutely no problems with it. I have had a handful of real HP calculators over the decades and when I saw that there was an update to my old HP 50g, I decided to give this software version a try. It worked so well that I bought a real HP prime calculator. Comparing the app to the real calculator, all works the same. One thing I like better about the app is the higher resolution display screen. The real calculator is obviously has a lower resolution screen than the iPhone screen. And of course, the iPhone version of the calculator is physically smaller in dimensions than my iPhone Pro Max. This calculator is certainly different than all my old HP calculators, but it works well and I can’t complain about any of the features so far, on either the software version or the real thing.

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2024-10-03, version 2.1.14584*

Very nice

### 5/5 — Please update to latest version and add system keyboard support

*2024-01-01, version 2.1.14584*

I’m using a real HP Prime and this iOS version is more convenient and durable (the keys on my real calculator is kind of broken after 3 years).

My real calculator is a G2 hardware version. Somehow it can’t properly plot Y=X^(1/3) in Advanced Graphing (X<0 is somehow not defined), but this iOS emulator and PC/Mac emulator are both correct with the domain.

This is an emulator, but it’s kind of over emulated. Why not add system 26 keys keyboard support? It will be a lot easier to type in commands. Besides, I’m writing this review in 2024. The latest firmware version is released on 04.13.2023, but in the emulator it’s only 05.05.2021 version.

Other than these it’s still a good emulator. It solves some integrals like ∫(1/(x^3-1),x,0,∞) that Texas Instruments and even Mathematica couldn’t.

### 5/5 — Fonctionne bien

*2023-12-28*

### 5/5 — Please update to latest version and add system keyboard support

### 5/5 — ROM update!

*2023-12-03*

Coukd you please update de ROM to the last version 2023/04/13?

Thanks in advance

### 5/5 — Great calculator

*2022-04-28, version 2.1.14584*

Great fully featured graphing calculator app. Works well on iPad. Useful since iPad comes with no calculator app. Much better than many other ad ridden calc apps out there. Only feature it is lacking is split screen/ pull over support, which would be very useful.

### 5/5 — Accurate replication of HP Prime

*2021-05-29, version 2.1.14584*

HP Prime is the best calculator out there and runs circles around anything from TI if you know how to use it. This updates reflects the 5/5/2021 firmware update of the real calculator.

This app faithfully replicates the calculator’s functionality. The only missing feature is the ability to synchronize programs with the real calculator or the pc emulator that is probably related to iOS sandboxing restrictions.

### 5/5 — Need help with prime pro

*2020-11-29, version 2.1.14346*

Just downloaded pro version. App is stuck in the language mode, shifting between the various languages. What do I do?????
