At first I was like "oh well I'm turning 17 in a week so it's fine." Nope!! When you go to make a acc on the app it gives you a opinions for you're age from 18-40!! You can't go lower then that! That's a bit weird if you ask me so if you are younger then 18 don't download it please just don't!! ### 4/5 — Great place to meet new people *2023-08-23* I downloaded this app after I had a falling out with my friend group. I was in a bad spot, desperately in need of some people in my life that I could trust and have a good time with. I downloaded hru and I didn't really think anything would come of it. But after quite a few dead end conversations, I matched with a girl and we really hit it off. She introduced me to some of her friends, many of who she had met on the app too. We all quickly became close friends. Since then, I have met 4 or 5 other people on the app that I have introduced to my newfound friend group, and our group continues to expand with new people that we meet on hru. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Marketing an app with minors as a dating app? *2024-03-06* I saw an ad on TikTok thinking this would be similar to the show love is blind. It’s not, this app asks for your age and no where is it posted and I have been approached by multiple minors on this app. This is a breeding ground for predators. This app is a very good concept, HOWEVER, it’s not represented correctly. It’s full of either bots, sugar mommas or daddys, Hor@y 15 year olds looking for a girlfriend and even worse pedos. And guess what the lazy developers won’t do anything about it. Guess what again. There used to be an app like this one called GraceChat. There’s proof of its existence on TikTok and I even have emails of me messaging the creator of gracechat. They deleted the app most likely because they couldn’t handle the amount of pedos and trolls on it. If only they could somehow moderate the app it would still be alive. The same thing might happen to this app. It’s just so badly made and just stupid. Don’t expect to meet nice people. Most people here are just plain out weird. The moderation is basically non existent so there’s almost nothing done about them. As a reminder NEVER SEND MONEY TO PEOPLE YOU DONT KNOW. And check what people say. Other then that is ok. Then it was changed to Grace Chat it still had its voice chat feature and it was all good but then it turned back into HRU and the voice chat and avatars were removed and I couldn’t talk to the guy I was in a relationship with. Before I met him I did engaged conversations and talk to other guys on the app. Every single guy I met here was very respectful never had to talk to a guy that was gross. Also Tip: If you are starting a conversation just say what are you looking for? Those were one of my first questions. I knew I was looking for a relationship and when guys said they were looking for something casual I would tell them that I am not longer interested. In a respectful way. Always be respectful and consider of others feeling.
