One of these days I will no doubt brake my drone. Instead of automatically enabling RTH at 20% (which is enough to get some more flight time) it could give an audio cue like “battery low” and then enable RTH at 15 or 10% instead. ### 1/5 — Awful. It disconnects when it finally does connect and then locked my phone out then the app opens back up, then wants me to recalibrate it, and then lock out again in a continuous cycle. I finally got a calibrated and it starts to just take off wherever. Do your self a favor at this point and return it. ### 1/5 — WiFi 5G does not work *2025-02-01, version 1.4.3* We have a Holy Stone HS175D. The WiFi that drone puts out is on a 5g frequency. The App defaults to a 2.4g frequency, so it does not see the drone. No problem, there is a "Change Band” dropdown in the settings. Yeah, regardless of devise (have tried aniPhone 16 Plus, IPad 5th and 9th gen’s, Google Pixel 7Pro, Samsung Galaxy S12+) it throws a “Failed, Check it" error. Customer Service at holy stone says to use Airplane mode, then turn on WiFi, connect to the drone, then open app. Yup, "Failed, check it". Because of holy stone I feel like this is the only thing I want to do everyday! ### 5/5 — Really impressed *2024-08-05, version 1.3.5* I’ve had my Holystone 5 for about 2 years and for the first year I barely ever used it but became slightly familiar with it, then this last Snow Ski season which is the main reason I wanted it for I tried using it once or twice but I wasn’t able to use my phone with it since I couldn’t download any new apps at the time and was limited to using it with my outdated iPad . But had I been more familiar with it I think I would’ve been able to get it to work. In the last 2 weeks since I’ve been able to download and use the Holystone app with my phone, it’s made a HUGE difference in its ability to “follow me” even in the dark, and it’s overall functionality like being able to delete unwanted pics and vids from the app that I wasn’t able to prior to using it with just my IPad and its overall outdated software. But lastly I wanna emphasize calibrating it NOT ONLY at the beginning with spinning it in hand but on the joy sticks holding each toggle to the bottom left it reevaluate’s the drone center of gravity and will eliminate any “drift” it has from not holding still in one place, to and overall calmness of the drone and it’s become SO much easier to keep it stable and controlled. So if you find your not enjoying it or having problems make sure you understand all of its capabilities and what you may not be doing for it to work at its full capacity because a year ago I wouldn’t have the same type of review to write for it.
