Whether you are studying for the HSK or you simply want to increase your chinese vocabulary it is nice to have study tools with you at all times. Learning a new language takes lots of time and practice. What better way to practice than on the train, in a meeting, on a plane; the possibilities are endless. But who wants to carry around thousands of words in their pocket each day? And who wants to write up thousands of flash cards? This HSK study tool is on the very thing you carry everyday… your iPhone. Unlike flash cards, this software keeps track of your statistics. It knows what words you know and what words you don't know. If for example you know that word for "White" is "bai", but you keep forgetting the hanzi, then the software will keep testing the hanzi, until you get it right. Theory: This software starts with the HSK 1 vocabulary list, moving on to HSK 4. In total it has 8000+ words in it's vocabulary. This software will test 6 different aspects of a Chinese word… pinyin -> hanzi pinyin -> english hanzi -> pinyin hanzi -> english english -> pinyin english -> hanzi The software will take the first 20 unknown words and test your knowledge of them. If you get a word right several times the software will assume you understand and know that word. It will not be asked again, instead a new word will be added to your vocabulary list. This creates a sliding study window, which reflects what you know and don't know. For the advanced learners you may not want to "prove" your knowledge of a word, in this case you can simply press "know word", thereafter the word will be assumed as known. If on the other hand definitely know a question but may have forgotten the hanzi/pinyin/definition you can simply press know question. This word will continue to be tested, however this particular question will be assume as known. Upgrades: This is the first release of this software. I hope to make many changes based on your feedback. These upgrade will always be free of charge. I never want anyone to regret purchasing early. It's like an eye chart. This is unnecessary, as there is plenty of wasted space on the page. It reminds me of Windows' useless calculator program. Second, there are no setting options. So you have no control over anything, either in format or content.
