We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your view. The \$15 lifetime pricing was part of an early launch phase years ago — since then, we've added a lot of new content and features. While the lifetime option is now less common, we offer monthly and annual plans that are very affordable — the annual plan, for instance, gives you 6 months free. As for the removal of ads, we did it to improve the experience. Many users couldn’t access ad-supported content at all, especially in countries like China or Russia. Now, that content is open for free — including stories, games, and basic exams — even without ads. Only lessons remain partially locked. We truly believe these changes make the free version more usable, not less. Still, we respect your opinion and thank you for giving our apps a try. 🐼

You might find the dark mode easier on the eyes—just head to the app Settings to activate it. Also, in the settings, you’ll find various customization options, like disabling the color of the pinyin, which could help further tailor the app to your needs.
