### 4/5 — Above ground owner

*2026-08-26, version 5.4.9*

Had a pool guy come by and talk to him about the pH app. He said it was pretty accurate.

### 4/5 — Let me choose my camera lense

*2026-07-23, version 5.4.9*

Only chooses .5 lens so I have a difficult time zooming in on the test strip.

### 4/5 — Reading is wrong sometimes

*2026-07-18, version 5.4.9*

Taking pictures and sending it sometimes doesn’t match the bottle

### 3/5 — History not saving?

*2026-07-17, version 5.4.9*

All good except history of testing not being saved ( yes signed in to app) except for first test at season start up???

### 4/5 — All good but

*2026-07-17, version 5.4.9*

Wish it would save all test results automatically.

### 4/5 — Me gusta

*2026-07-16, version 5.4.9*

Facil de usar

### 4/5 — Varies

*2026-07-10, version 5.4.9*

You can test the same strip seconds apart and it will give you different results each time

### 3/5 — Test strip

*2026-07-09, version 5.4.9*

Readings not accurate according to back of tube

### 4/5 — Test

*2026-07-08, version 5.4.9*

The app is awesome and very helpful to get my back on track!

### 3/5 — Multiple

*2026-07-07, version 5.4.9*

I can do a test exactly as instructed to get five minutes later again exactly as instructed to complete opposite different results

### 2/5 — Bad batch?

*2026-07-07, version 5.4.9*

This year I’ve gone through 2 tubes of test strips, because the camera function on the app glitches when it’s time to read the test strip

### 2/5 — HTH testing not working

*2026-05-31, version 5.4.8*

Last year app was working no issues with testing HTH strips. I recently started using it again for the season and is not testing is working - does not allow to choose the colors to match test strips- I hope they fit it ASAP. And yes I did the update to the app, still not working.

### 2/5 — Great idea, but needs AI integration

*2026-05-30, version 5.4.8*

It’s good to have a more objective reading of the test strip, as well as ability to archive tests as you work to maintain the water balance.
However, the recommendations seem to ignore the overall picture. If three readings are off, there’s no comprehensive step-by-step, as in, “first add A, then add B 6 hours later after retesting.”
If you add the recommended chemicals all at once, or in the wrong order, you can actually make things worse.
So, until HTH fixes this, I recommend plugging the readings into your AI, which WILL give you much better advice.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-08-15, version 5.4.9*

Got my email and phone then locked me out. Immediately started getting endless calls and emails. DON’T GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION.

### 1/5 — Do not waste your money

*2026-07-26, version 5.4.9*

The scanning of the test strip does NOT work no matter how you align the strip. Also, very difficult to manually ise the strip as the colors are very hard to match. I ended up taking my water to our local pool company and having an analysis. Turns out I didn’t need half the chemicals this app was trying to sell me.

### 1/5 — Dimensions

*2026-07-20, version 5.4.9*

We need an option to enter how many gallons the pool holds and not dimensions. I have an 18 foot round pool. When I enter this in, your app says my pool holds 8429 gallons.

### 1/5 — Round Pool

*2026-07-12, version 5.4.9*

I have a round pool. There is an option to select a round pool when setting up your app, however-they were then asking me for the width and length of my pool. I cannot give the width and length of a round pool! Your app would not let me continue unless I added this information rendering this app completely useless to me. So frustrating!

### 1/5 — Do not trust

*2026-06-17, version 5.4.8*

This may be the most unreliable app in the history of the universe. I checked my water and my free chlorine was high and my alkalinity was high. Two minutes later, I checked it again and my free. Was low and my alkalinity was low. I’ve tested the water several times today and every time I get a very, very different reading.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-06-14, version 5.4.8*

Possibly the worst app ever used

### 1/5 — Stupid app

*2026-05-26, version 5.4.8*

App doesn’t work you try to use the test take a picture and never reads anything keeps saying error

### 1/5 — Doesn’t analyze the strips

*2026-05-25, version 5.4.8*

Every time I try taking a picture of the test strip it fails. I’ve done everything it says to do but it still won’t work. It’s useless

### 1/5 — Won’t do analysis

*2026-05-25, version 5.4.8*

Won’t do analysis via photo or text. Tried multiple phones. Still not working. Pretty frustrating

### 1/5 — What happened?

*2026-05-25, version 5.4.8*

Bought the spa test strips a few weeks ago and have used the app and strips regularly and my spa has never been in better shape. Suddenly I’m now getting an error about enabling notifications when I open the app and every time I try to scan a test strip I get an error and it tells me the test failed and to be sure I’m using the right test strips.

I checked that notifications were actually on, I signed out and back in. I even deleted the app and reinstalled it. Same results. It just doesn’t work now.

Super frustrating because I bought multiple packs of test strips thinking I’d found a great solution.

The good news is the Clorox app and strips work. Just wasted money on HTH products, chemicals, etc.

### 5/5 — I am interested

*2026-08-31, version 5.4.9*

Like

### 5/5 — Best Summer Ever

*2026-08-17, version 5.4.9*

There was no guessing with this app and the test strips! I tested it each week took the picture with app and followed the instructions. It was perfect 1 2 3 done. Least amount of stress, money and headache- you have to use this if you have a pool!

### 5/5 — Takes the quess work out.

*2026-08-15, version 5.4.9*

I’m a bit colorblind, especially when the hues are faint. The app scan feature makes it easy. Just make sure you scan it as close to 20 seconds as possible.

### 5/5 — First test

*2026-08-12, version 5.4.9*

Amazingly easy
Can test at will now with confidence

### 5/5 — Strip inaccuracies

*2026-08-12, version 5.4.9*

Take one stip out get one reading, take a second one out and get a hole different reading

### 5/5 — Test strips

*2026-07-19, version 5.4.9*

This is my second time using the test strips. First time was a few days after initial shock treatment. This seems like the best way to go instead of all the fancy devices out there. I will take a sample water to get tested independently just to verify accuracy. I’ll report back.

### 5/5 — Positive review

*2026-07-12, version 5.4.9*

I really like being able to take a picture of the test strip and have it analyzed for me. I highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Finally, my pool is under control.

*2026-07-09, version 5.4.9*

OK, so I keep on running into this problem year after year. I open up my pool and my alkalinity is ridiculous. I’ve tried to handle it several different ways. One year I even went ahead and just drained it and refilled it entirely. That sucked. This year I downloaded the HTH app. I’ve been testing and following the recommendations. My alkalinity is still barely high, but all of my other chemistry is spot on. I do not plan to look at more YouTube videos or ask friends and family and neighbors. The HTH app got me to where I need to be. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Above ground pool

*2025-04-10, version 5.2.4*

The app works great as long as I can keep Miss Know It ALL ( My Wife ) from messing with the pool.

### 5/5 — Keeps me on track

*2025-04-08, version 5.2.4*

Started using this at the beginning of the season and already love how it tracks my test history! It helps me catch patterns and stay ahead of problems before they mess with the water. Super easy to use and it makes reading the strips faster.
