Même si HUAYING n'offre pas la richesse encyclopédique des grands dictionnaires français-chinois, chinois-français et anglais-chinois, chinois-anglais, il est beaucoup plus pratique et accessible que tous ces autres dictionnaires pour ceux qui veulent se familiariser avec le chinois, parce qu'il tient tout entier dans un iPod, sans que l'utilisateur ait besoin d'être branché sur Internet. Entre autres vertus, HUAYING donne la prononciation et le sens (ou les sens) de chaque caractère composant un mot, ce qui aide l'étudiant à comprendre l'étymologie des mots et à les retenir. I know some Mandarin, so for after work chit-chatting or just getting around, Huaying proved itself essential--and accurate-- throughout my stay. Better still, my Chinese colleagues quickly started using Huaying on my device to find just the right way to express themselves in English! Recommendations: although font is really cool, it is sometimes confusing because it does not follow exactly the orig brushstroke concepts. Not a great loss. Would love to see truer meanings of individual characters- many times resorts to "surname" as meaning if it is part of a string of characters. Would love to get more history and origins of words but maybe too much to ask for a free app? Quand un terme ne se trouve pas dans une combinaison de langues, on la trouve parfois dans l'autre combinaison. Les dictionnaires sont très riches en contenu. Il faut saluer les efforts de l'auteur non seulement pour les contenus mais aussi pour les fonctionnalités, en particulier la possibilité de tracer les caractères chinois. Selon moi, le principal mérite de cette application n'est pas qu'elle soit gratuite. Elle mériterait d'être vendue. Pour améliorer encore ce produit, je proposerais: - possibilité de proposer des modifications et ajouts aux dictionnaires - meilleure reconnaissance des caractères tracés (parfois le logiciel ne reconnaît le bon caractère) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Duhdh *2011-10-29, version 0.32* Bad ### 1/5 — Not a good one *2011-08-08* Many chinese english dictionary said there is pronounciation feature , but after installing , it s not the case. Pretty annoying. Now, I have to uninstalled. ### 1/5 — Dictionary *2010-04-18* Need more work. Default search is upper case with first letter and dictionary will not give meaning. Eg pinyin words "Ai", "Xia" would not turn any meaning whereas all lower case works. Very handy dictionary! *2019-09-11* Search by English, pinyin, or HanZi. They all will give you results. I would give it 5 stars except not all the words have one particular feature, which I value a lot. Many of the words have a brush-sroke animation and practice panel —but some do not. I believe some of the less-frequent characters are the culprits missing this additional feature.
