The app freezes all the time now too. As someone who used this app when it first came I out do really miss the old versions and I made a post about it and it seems like a lot of other people do too ### 2/5 — Full of adults talking to kids ! *2025-03-16, version 2.0.7* Deleted my account within days , like the idea but leaves people vulnerable, joined a friend group only to witness many people trying to get personal information and chat up a 17 year old girl ! Who said she was 17 , predators are everywhere, with no where obvious in the app to report such behaviour. I never leave reviews normally but this is important for safety as this app advertises for mental health too ### 2/5 — No moderators. *2025-03-13* I wanted to like this app, but it had no moderation and seemingly no updates. I understand the main developer was injured, but surely there must be a team? It doesn’t really feel like it. I hope everyone is okay. Also, there is no option for light mode. And no mutuals posting even though these should have been the first things implemented in the design. These features are always popularly demanded. One more thing is that you can’t change your profile photo until an unpredictable amount of time. For some it’s 3 days for some it’s more than a week.. based on an undefined number of likes/thanks you give or receive. I’m not sure why the team couldn’t just put this on an exact number of days to gain access to a profile photo instead of users guessing. We hope we’ll earn another shot with you. ### 2/5 — Used to be good… *2025-03-11* Used to be my favorite app, but due to lack of moderation and updates the community has dwindled down to just a few active members and mostly trolls who make accounts every day to harass everyone. It is no longer safe, I’ve deleted my account after a few months of making friends and connecting which I haven’t actually done in YEARS. But all my friends left because of the app’s problems, and now I have too. I will not be harassed by random trolls in a space where I’m supposed to feel safe. Maybe one day I’ll come back. But for now, it’s making my mental health worse actually. Maybe it’ll get better when the original dev gets well enough to work on Huddle again. ### 2/5 — Good for what it is but it’s nothing like TikTok or RedNote *2025-01-19* This app is more similar to what Vent was and was used as a replacement for the app. To market it as something it’s not is awful and with all the drama going on with mods this app is quickly on a downward spiral. ### 2/5 — NOT a TikTok Replacement *2025-01-19, version 2.0.5* this is an app for mental health and venting. It is primarily text based and has a small community. It is unfair to that community to advertise this app as a TikTok replacement for a profit. It is NOTHING like tiktok do not download if you’re looking to replace tiktok ### 2/5 — It’s weird to restrict accounts for no reason?? *2024-12-21* Huddle has the potential to be great in my opinion, but at the moment no. Punishing users for literally nothing is crazy. Why am I banned for 2 days? Not even because I broke any rules? You don’t even elaborate on what suspicious activity means ### 1/5 — no support *2024-12-14, version 2.0.3* they rather delete you than look at what problems their app is having. you go to their reddit page to ask for help. They would delete your post and mute your post for 28 days. because they are a small app. they cannot do anything to help you. since they cannot do anything due to a small team. Their best solution is to ban people and their concerns. ### 1/5 — went downhill really fast *2024-12-09* i want to see this app do well, i really do, but the moderators have done some really concerning things lately. they delete posts criticizing them (including comments/posts where users point out the usage of AI art) and it’s incredibly suspicious. there is zero communication with the community and trolls who throw slurs at people go unchecked for hours while mod criticism is deleted ASAP. the staff needs to get it together. disappointing. a mental health app should be moderated far better than this… and the staff being unable to take criticism is a massive red flag. there’s also no way to report users—only their posts. huge oversight. be better. ### 1/5 — Good in theory *2024-12-06* You would think that a “mental health focused app” would listen to its user base and would ensure clarity and treat its staff well, but this has proven to be the exact opposite. Members are silenced for vocalizing concerns with the apps, with having posts and accounts deleted/restricted. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Horrible management *2024-12-05, version 2.0.2* Users are being silenced in mass for speaking out against the acting-CEO that is making awful decisions that harm the community as a whole. He’s tanking the organization. You will be miserable here. Posts are being deleted if you disagree with the team. Accounts are being banned for no reason. There’s bugs and there’s no moderation. Poor execution really. ### 1/5 — Not good *2024-12-05* not a mental app as they advertise. only care about what looks good. doesn’t care about your mental health. venting isn’t allowed. free opinions isn’t allowed. their TOS forbids you from doing that. they can delete your post to change to their narrative. ### 4/5 — good so far, devs are responsive *2024-12-02* its pretty good as a mental health app, im still figuring out the UI as a former vent user. there are some glaringly obvious bugs and features that really need implemented, but it’s early in development and the mods are very perceptive to suggestions/bug reports, so i think the app has a good future ahead of it in this regard. the community is very small right now and i wish it was bigger, especially since you see the same accounts on the hot/new tab when the app loads. stuff can reach the hot tab with only ~15 interactions sometimes, so it could be a conversation chain suddenly everyone sees. tell more people to join so this stops happening xDDD theres a 2k character limit for posts and you can upload images, you can also upload journal posts which are mutual only, otherwise i dont think there are private options. the biggest issues with the app for me right now on ios are that you cant copy text or save images from posts, and theres no customizing notification types in your phone settings. theres also a weird limitation that you have to “spread positivity” in order to earn rights to upload a profile picture/cover photo, which usually takes around 3 days, and requires commenting on other users’ posts. im not sure if the purpose is to encourage user interaction or slow down new troll accounts with innappropriate avatars, but i wish it was implemented in a different way! a lot of people might want to just use a mental health app as a diary and i feel this might dissuade them if they cant upload a unique avatar. **Developer response:** Hey gsdgcgbd, thank you for such a thoughtful and detailed review. While the design is basic and unoriginal, essentially a Reddit clone, its biggest failure is the dangerously unsupervised environment it fosters. The reporting system is ineffective and there are no content filters. This has resulted in a hostile and harmful community where disrespectful, homophobic, transphobic, and racist comments are common. The app attracts vulnerable individuals and then fails to protect them, creating an environment that is arguably worse than having no support at all. There are significant safety concerns, most notably the lack of any age verification, which allows for unsupervised interactions between adults and minors. Furthermore, group chats are openly used for online dating, which is inappropriate for a "venting" platform. The app also appears to have been abandoned by its developers, with no visible updates or community management. Engagement is extremely low. I do not recommend this app. It is a dangerous space for individuals seeking support. Nothing but scammers, predators, and self-centered trash on this app. ### 1/5 — 4chan for kinnies *2025-01-21* this app is severely unmoderated and the user base has run rampant with racism (users posting "bring back lynching"), misogyny, and in general has an issue with users arguing and making callout posts against each other every single day. if you enjoy hearing about how women need to be killed with cars and seeing people care more about a proshipper than they do about a user wishing to "bring back lynching" then this is the app for you! but if you're normal and don't want to kill black people then maybe download a different app. if i could give negative stars... i would take these developers to court instead. ### 1/5 — This is not okay *2024-12-30* This app even goes against the moto under its name, “be yourself, share anything”. It is extremely unmoderated except for the new/temp owner censoring any opinion on his use of business tactics on the community. Using people and their emotions to get them to download this app out of fear of losing their discord server that was free to run.. Yeah, very warm and fuzzy. Don’t talk about it much or mention his name though, you’ll just be banned. Obviously the community doesn’t feel supported if they’re coming to you with questions, punishing them isn’t really supportive either. There are much better mental health platforms that won’t toy with you then censor you for noticing.. Your trust is our priority, and we’re dedicated to making Huddle a place where you can rely on and feel welcome every day. ### 1/5 — Please don't support this app. *2024-12-27* I am taking the time to write this lengthy review as a result of the current ownership's censorship. Any form of criticism, feedback or mentioning of the current situation - or voicing your concerns about things relating to it - will get your posts or account deleted in the App, and banned on their Discord Server or Subreddit. I am posting this here as they shouldn't be able to delete this here without reason. This app, while it has a promising premise about offering a place of support and community for all topics mental health, is horribly equipped to handle it. Moderation barely exists if not abused like mentioned above. Rules aren't enforced consistently, and there is no way to get direct support by app developers or mods when you see something distressing. The functionality of the app is also in a rough state. There's several bugs and other issues, which wouldn't be a problem if you had 1) a way to report these and 2) wouldn't be banned for asking for help around them. The most prominent 'bug' suspends a user for 1 to 5 days, preventing you from logging in. There's no way to do anything about it, no one to contact, and again, if brought up in the Subreddit for example, it will get removed. App Security is a whole different story. Internally there have been huge issues, when a 'Co-Founder' took over. Team members who volunteered were cut off, banned and partially ridiculed for trying to speak up. The entire community had their Discord community taken away in an attempt for people to download the app. Communication is everything but clear, and the community will be gaslit and manipulated into thinking they're the issue. Different plattforms (App, Discord Server, Subreddit) are described as being separate entities, yet they constantly relate to one another (Discord Server depending on App Downloads) and moderators working for more than one plattform, causing conflicts to travel across these. If you're looking for a safe space, maybe consider somewhere else. While the community of users might be nice, the entire staff that is currently working is everything but. Trust can barely be put into the current team, and their lack of transparency makes gaging the risk of using the app hard. I am deeply saddened that this is the course the App took. Good potential in a nieche that could really benefit from a working safe space for the mental health community. Unfortunate that this had to be ruined for unknown reasons, suspecting to be either someone who misjudged their ability in a position and lacked the guts to admit to it, or the usual greed for profit. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Good but needs work and questions *2025-02-08* I like this app. It's a good idea, I have questions and Some Improvements. 1.
