It really needs some user-friendly updates though. For example, nothing is saved when you go back and forth between screens. The automatic questions that are generated are great, but you also have to realize that you need to select the checkbox to include the question, even if you add it from scratch. Erasing all the bids if you need to make an update is frustrating. You should convert the bids to draft and notify the bidders to see if they want to adjust their bid and resubmit. The clunky site makes it easy to miss things and the update process makes it even worse. **Developer response:** Danielle, we couldn’t agree with you more! I hope they can pull off what their claiming, would really help a lot of people. Pretty hard to imagine a tech company that’s transparent and fair. Keep it up HUDU. ### 4/5 — Bugs need sorted out *2023-09-16* New app. Needs bugs sorted out. For instance only able to click on text not image. Can see images once you open someone’s project. But I sent 2 messages to HuDu without response. Poor customer service…. Once you make a post, apparently there’s no way to revise or edit it. **Developer response:** Sorry for your poor experience! Knowing that instead of just asking all my friends or posting a random status on Facebook for help with something and either hoping for a response/suggestion or having to go through all the recommendations; I can post what I need in this app. Once I post, I know that verified people are bidding on a job and if I don’t find the price reasonable, I can deny. But if I do, I can also accept right away and have it done asap. This business is a game changer. I can’t wait to continue to use in the future. **Developer response:** What an epic review! It helped me to get my skills out to many different people with needs in their lives. If someone has I need I can provide a service to them at a fair price and it helps me to make some extra cash. The organization of the app is easy navigate and the ease to post something that I need help with is easy too. Who doesn't love more cash and great help! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Scam !! *2025-08-15* I signed up for a background check as they require one for you to pickup projects from home owners. They charged me twice for it, no support. It’s been over a week and I still am unable to take jobs that require a background check again no support!! I’ve emailed multiple days and tried using their ai chat bot which have lead to no response or frustration because the chat bot keeps telling me I must be doing something wrong. Find work elsewhere this app has no in person support and they dodge your emails. A blatant scam you don’t have to fall for ### 1/5 — Great concept but plagued by fake contractors *2025-07-06, version 3.0.4* If you have one fake contractor start the bidding you are screwed. ### 1/5 — Great until anything goes wrong with your Job *2025-06-11* Hudu needs to focus on building out their customer service options rather than focusing on scaling the business. They have no way to actually speak to someone and they don’t answer their support emails. I’ve used the site 6 times successfully, but then had a contractor ghost us after awarding a $3k project. Hudu is just sitting on the money because their system is not setup to handle the refund. I followed the directions to go to Payments and request a repayment of funds, but it sends you to setup a stripe account like you are a contractor. The funds were not returned and there is no option to request them again. No response from Hudu. **Developer response:** Danielle, we couldn’t agree with you more! If you want to make money don’t use this app. ### 1/5 — HUDU Does not Refund Cancelled Projects per T&Cs *2024-09-25* I wish I could right a better review of this app however I had a project that multiple doers cancel after awarding their bid. The doers cancelled for various reasons and I have yet to receive a return of my funds. I have submitted multiple support tickets and corresponded with the CEO who makes false and unsupported claims of remitted funds. This is in direct violation of their terms and conditions and support / help response has been almost nonexistent. ### 1/5 — Does this even work *2023-12-19, version 2.2.8* Don’t waste your money. I have picked doers that have completed number of projects. After just speaking with the founder of the project and stating the challenges with the project. He told me that it’s my fault for my price and we’re getting bottom of the barrel doers based upon that. I have spoken with him several times and never once was that brought up. My most recent experience was with a painter who didn’t show up multiple times after all we wanted was communication. They told us times they’d be here and then they weren’t there. Never was the price mentioned by Derrick, founder, until just then. I have been disappointed in the resolution and help associated with it. ### 5/5 — My official go to when needing work done *2024-09-06* This is my new favorite app to use when needing work done around my house. There are people available to do anything and everything. You can see past reviews of workers to see level of reliability, and decide your own time frame needed on the project, mark whether or not they are required to have a background check, etc. It even provides questions you can ask the bidder.
