### 3/5 — Only demo mode?

*2025-04-21, version 1.8.2*

I finished demo mode, but the option to buy the full version seems to be disabled (error message “purchase cancelled” appears immediately when I tap to purchase full version,) and the support page doesn’t even list the game. Am I doing something wrong, or is this game no longer supported?

### 3/5 — amazing idea, but

*2024-10-02, version 1.8.2*

control design isn’t good, great example like limbo+. missing something to great, well that can be amazing art (like classical art) or one more system (like battle(but ited reuse point), )

### 4/5 — Too hard

*2024-09-13, version 1.8.2*

But fun for what it is worth

### 3/5 — Seems like a good game

*2024-02-23, version 1.8.2*

From what I actually got to play, it was great. I love the story and the little character. However, you essentially have to buy the game despite being able to download it for free. This is very upsetting as I was so excited to play, but realized that I can’t. Good game in theory, but would like to see a free version that’s not a demo so everyone can play. I would even tolerate ads just to be able to play.

### 3/5 — Love this Game! Needs Controller Support.

*2023-11-08, version 1.8.2*

Hue is an excellent platformer with a fun and unique mechanic. My one complaint is that it lacks controller support in iPhone. Playing on the screen is not ideal here.

### 3/5 — Just bought it (question)

*2023-09-17, version 1.8.2*

I just bought it and have a question but the support link doesn’t work. I just wanted to know if the app can be use with family Sharing? My kids want it too in their phones but I find it’s too expensive to pay for each purchase.

### 4/5 — Great, inventive game! One minor technical issue

*2023-08-23, version 1.8.2*

This is a wholly entertaining, creative, unique, lovable game.
Absolutely worth paying full price for (especially if that means it helps go to funding a sequel?)

I love that you must play through it a second time to continue searching for the bubbling beakers. Great built-in replayability cheat.

My only issue is with the controls on the iPad.
iPhone controls are fluid and smooth, but on the iPad the D-pad cancels out the color wheel choice, causing far too many falls and mis-steps due to incomplete color changes.

Aside of the need for that minor tweak, the game is a joy to play.

### 4/5 — Great game but too expensive to keep playing

*2023-06-11*

I love this game and the concept of it. I’ve never seen anything like this. There is just one problem and it’s that I don’t want to pay $8 to continue after the demo. I would like to keep playing without paying so much. I would only pay $3 max.

### 4/5 — Looks Nice with poor controls

*2023-06-07, version 1.8.2*

I am happy that I was able to play the demo before purchasing game. I did not find the character controls friendly, but others may be OK with them. I will NOT purchase the game on my iPad but the concept is nice and may be better on a different platform.

### 4/5 — Lovely but too sensitive.

*2023-04-15*

I will start by saying I enjoy this game. The graphics are well down for this type of game with the colors being vibrant and very well defined while also having a softness to them that doesn’t hurt the eyes if you’re playing in a dim or dark room (which I suggest since it contrast with the black landscape). The puzzles so far aren’t complicated enough to need any assistance outside of finding collectibles. However, I’m not sure if it’s my phone or the game, but the sensitivity between jumping and color swapping is at times game ending. There are some relatively easy jumping puzzles that completely waste up my time because mid jump the color wheel has popped up and either changed the color quickly or so slowly that I’m forced to watch the little dude jump right into the spike pit in a morbid slow motion kill cam shot. I’ve gotten so frustrated that I’m taking a break. I don’t remember if I paid for the game or not. If I did it was worth the few bucks I paid for as the game is largely a good game. I can get past the sensitivity every now and again but not when I want to drown out my day and binge play before bed.

### 2/5 — Could you please tell us WTH is going on??

*2022-09-18, version 1.8.2*

Could you please tell us what is going on and how to play this game? Otherwise it seems like we have just wasted our money on something that seemed pretty interesting at first but with the wasted time on trying to figure out the basic controls it turns out to be totally useless waste of money and time. Would love to know how to play this game but we need some help. Thank you.

### 2/5 — Abysmal controls

*2022-04-05, version 1.8.2*

This game was so close to being awesome. Sans the hyper sensitive “joystick” that starts you running the wrong direction 70% of the time. The entirely too small jump button you constantly miss and it’s relative proximity to the even smaller grab button and color wheel.

### 4/5 — The game is okay but...

*2021-11-30, version 1.8.2*

I love almost everything about this game: The colors, the story, etc.… except for how challenging some of the puzzles are. A lot of the times when I die midway through a level, I have to completely restart. A checkpoint system would be awesome honestly, but I can see why that would be hard to implement.

### 2/5 — Creative with horrible controls

*2021-11-06, version 1.8.2*

This game has huge potential, but the controls are frustrating to say the least. I thought about buying the game, but the way the controls are set just makes me want to quit playing!

### 2/5 — Great game with obvious pitfalls

*2021-10-25, version 1.8.2*

The game and concept is very unique and entertaining, but the controls are less than cumbersome. I don’t know how such great game can get the most simple things wrong.

### 1/5 — THE BAD GAME OF THIS WORLD HAS BEEN SO Bad

*2024-11-28, version 1.8.2*

I’m not gonna lie to you but this game is really BAD and it has 2 different levels and it’s just not good enough for me and it’s just a bad game for me and the game is so boring to me and it’s not even close to being fun for me and you just don’t understand it and I don’t even care about it

### 1/5 — This is a game with colors

*2024-05-08, version 1.8.2*

Colors

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2022-02-28, version 1.8.2*

I pay!! No goood!!

### 1/5 — Lie

*2021-10-26, version 1.8.2*

They make you buy the game right away

### 1/5 — Price

*2021-10-24, version 1.8.2*

Should put the price in the store. Not download first.

### 1/5 — It’s a demo version !!

*2021-10-03, version 1.8.2*

Why you haven’t mentioned that this is only a demo version of the game?!? 👎🏻

### 1/5 — Game sticking at restore purchase

*2021-03-06, version 1.7*

This game is awesome. The story or game setup is a great concept. The color wheel controls are very difficult. I made it through the demo but the game will not let me go further. I’m not able to restore purchase, or go further. Really hoping that I can still purchase somehow.

### 1/5 — I call this: The Worse VERSION of Hue EVER.

*2020-07-27, version 1.7*

The game looks fun but PLEASE add PS4, Xbox 1, Joy Con, and other CONTROLLERS Support Please, This Version is For Pros ONLY. (Until the CSU Release for Mobile.) MARIO KART TOUR Also needs THIS.

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2020-07-24, version 1.7*

I wanted to try this game but it’s only free to play the demo, after that you have to pay for the game, might have given it a higher rating bc of the gameplay but they weren’t just transparent about it being a paid for game it.

### 1/5 — Great Game But Awful Sensitifity

*2020-07-20, version 1.7*

This game had great design, story and music but the controls made you move more than intended making it impossible to even complete the demo. If this is fixed, great game. If not spend your $8 somewhere else.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2025-09-23, version 1.8.2*

This game is super brilliant. If you don’t mind about the controls being a little weird, you could see that’s actually very good.

### 5/5 — Just finished

*2024-11-03, version 1.8.2*

This game is amazing. First of all, the graphics and creativity are amazing. Love it. I’m a big puzzle game fan, so this is amazing. The color wheel idea and all the gimmicks are amazing. An incredible storyline. The puzzles are so unique and fun, I love em. Just some are painful, like some of the last in the university. This is worth much more than just 4.99. Go play it

### 5/5 — Pleasant surprise

*2024-08-16, version 1.8.2*

1) I have no idea how this app made it onto my phone, but I imagine I “butt-installed” it, along with a gas station rewards app. 🤷🏻‍♀️
2) I noticed it this morning and was pleasantly surprised by, well, how absolutely pleasant it is. The music is relaxing, comforting, calming. The simplistic drawing/visuals are compelling and equally calming…even the areas that are somewhat “treacherous” are presented in the soft hues, which inspire one to approach the challenging situation with calmness (what a concept!).
3) Unfortunately, the last thing I need is another distraction to keep me from living life in the real world, but I can see this game doing that. The demo version, at least, is somewhat meditative, and I love my meditation sessions because they’re like an escape from reality (and simultaneously an aid that help me navigate reality). Based on the few dialogue bubbles and narratives I’ve encountered so far, I suspect that there are lots of insight gems throughout the game…so much so that I WANT to play the game. I want to see the world in color, let go of my expectations, and experience the surprises in full color (and to *see* the color in what appear to be black and white settings).
4) I know this game is old and doesn’t appear to be updated recently, which is too bad. It’s clear that an artist made it and it’s such a fabulous concept. I want to know more about the creator, the mind behind it, the process of creating it. I will keep it on my phone and hope that I can exercise self-control. If i can with the demo, I anticipate purchasing it to find out where the story goes. Maybe it can help influence my own story as I embark on a new leg of my own journey.

To the creator: this is beautiful, an absolutely lovely creation. I hope that your are still exercising your depth and creativity and sharing it with those that both need and appreciate it!

### 5/5 — I love it

*2023-07-01, version 1.8.2*

Beautiful soundtrack, beautiful story and the way it’s told, I love this game. ❤️

### 5/5 — I love this game

*2022-11-27, version 1.8.2*

First of all I love the story and the art style and it was worth the money in my opinion. I just have a few things that I don’t like 1. The controls are not the best and could be worked on a bit I think. 2. I don’t like how the “demo” part was very easy and Didn’t really give you any actual guidance in the game.
This game is super hard I broke my screen on a old phone playing it. 9/10 would recommend

### 5/5 — Challenging & Fun

*2022-09-22, version 1.8.2*

The perfect balance of challenging and fun. Love that I could purchase this game rather than deal with annoying in-app purchasing throughout. I’ve played and replayed it a couple times. Hoping for a part 2, or another by these guys.

### 5/5 — Great Concept and Graphics

*2022-02-18, version 1.8.2*

Loved this game. Just wish there was more of it. It took some time to get used to the controls, but that’s part of what makes it more difficult and make the game last longer. Would love to see more games like this one!

### 5/5 — Worth paying for

*2021-11-18, version 1.8.2*

Really good combination of arcade (not too difficult) and puzzle solving (some easy, some harder). There isn’t much of a formal tutorial but new concepts are introduced gradually and are either explained (e.g. how to pull a block) or are easy to figure out by yourself. The free levels are only a small part of the game,(there’s a lot more left than it looks like from the number of colours!) and the rest is definitely worth paying for if you enjoyed the first bit.

### 5/5 — 120hz

*2021-10-04, version 1.8.2*

Good game, and will 100% purchase the game if 120hz support is added

### 5/5 — For whoever doesn’t wanna pay

*2021-06-13*

Dude !!!! I discovered that the demo version is a WHOLE WORLD !!! It’s WAY bigger than everyone thinks 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯!!!! See, if u come BACK to the very FIRST level , go to the locked gates and OPEN the with ur newly acquired colors, u can go through a WHOLE NEW ADVENTURE. I played the demo like five times till this idea popped into my head cuz i was like “this is the type of game where u gotta use ur head” and so, I STILL haven’t finished the DEMO after like, A WEEK. idk if this is the full experience but, good enough for me 🤷‍♂️ i read the reviews and most people thought the demo was short and the full version was expensive, so there ya go !
(Btw i accpet cash or credit card for that tip)
Kidding
(Seriously though 👀)
