### 4/5 — Jan

*2025-12-07, version 4.7*

I love the lights. It helps me when you’re disabled. You can just turn on the lightswithout coming out of the bed. Thank you.

### 2/5 — Used to be a great app!

*2024-09-24*

This used to be a great app, but now it no longer pairs with my hub when I press the button, also my company phone does not allow in app purchases, but I can purchase apps from the App Store just not in app purchases. so this makes the app kind of useless for me. I paid for it once and now I can’t pull my purchased app because security settings do not allow in app purchases even though I’m not purchasing it again I can’t even pull my license in. Meh

**Developer response:** Tap the Philips Hue bridge icon at the upper left of the Hue Lights Home Screen. Tap “Search for bridges.” When your bridge appears tap on it. This should re-establish your connection. Only 1 of the 3 bridge search techniques needs to find your bridge. Make sure you are connected to the same WiFi network as your bridge.

If you still have connection issues, powering down your Philips Hue bridge, WiFi router and iOS device for 10 seconds often clears up strange problems.

Make sure that Hue Lights has permission to find devices on your local network. You can check this by launching the Settings app and scrolling down to the Hue Lights app. The Local Network item should be enabled. Refer to these sample screenshots for the required settings.

If you are trying to use remote access away from home, disable iCloud remote relay.

### 5/5 — Super helpful

*2023-12-28, version 4.3*

The touchlink function let me connect to two hue bulbs my bridge couldn’t find. Very useful app!

### 5/5 — only app worked for me and that for years

*2023-11-16, version 4.2*

where Philips is not helping anymore because of greed, this app is ur friend

thanks @ team, this app should be very much better voted for

### 4/5 — Advanced configuration for your hues

*2023-01-03, version 4.1*

This is a good app to control your hues, I don’t give five stars because using sensors I’m not able to restore the last state when no motion is detected, it will be a good improvement, thxs for your work.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2022-11-19, version 4.1*

Horrible interface with widgets. Overcomplicated and not helpful with costume scenes.

### 4/5 — Perfect sunrise!

*2022-11-14, version 4.1*

Worth it for the Perfect Sunrise effect, which is customisable duration and brightness. Way better than the actual Hue app wake up automation!
Starts at dark red/brown and gradually fades through realistic sunrise colours for a gentle wake up before your actual alarm, which must be set separately.
I wish the colours could be adjusted to finish with a cool white for alertness, and integrate with Apple Home alarm. Another improvement could be zones like Hue sync to allow ceiling lights to come on later an with different colours like the sky in an actual sunrise. The sequences are very customisable but unfortunately can’t be set as a scene or be scheduled.
Needs a notification when an effect begins so you know why the lights are changing and can tap the notification to launch the app and snooze or cancel the effect if necessary. Without a notification it can be difficult to know which app is messing with the lights!
Another feature could be to schedule with local sunrise time.

### 5/5 — Great for connecting first gen lights to latest Bridge

*2022-11-04, version 4.1*

Helped me find and connect first generation bulbs to the latest hue bridge (which is something Philips Hue won’t do via their app (built in obsolescence?). Had a few minor connection problems at first. Turned out my phone kept dropping the wifi connection to my network.

### 3/5 — Good but doesn’t work the way I need it to

*2022-10-23, version 4.1*

I want to be able to use this as a dashboard running on two iPads so that any light can be controlled from either, as well as Google Home and the hue app on our phones. The issue for me is that the dashboard on one iPad doesn’t update if a light is turned on by the other iPad, or any other way.

If the app could sense when a light’s status changes, this app would be excellent. Because it doesn’t, I need to find a different app unfortunately.

If you want to control your lights from a single device though, this is great.

### 3/5 — looks useful but

*2022-07-27, version 4.1*

found my bridge then lost it and can't find it again

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Naveed

*2026-02-24, version 4.7*

App is good but the worst thing is ,not compatible with Alexa
I made user sequences but they cannot be activated by Alexa routines
My advise to make all scenes and sequences Alexa compatible in new update

### 1/5 — Don’t work

*2025-12-07, version 4.7*

After last update they quit working

### 1/5 — Cue the Song “Taps.”

*2025-11-27, version 4.6*

The most noticeable thing about the latest 4.6 update is the “Nothing works anymore, at all, ever again…” feature.

### 1/5 — Don’t buy if you have the Bridge Pro!

*2025-11-09, version 4.5*

I have loved this app for almost 10 years. Does NOT work with new Philips Hue Bridge Pro. No ETA on when /or if there will be an update.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with the Bridge 2.0.

*2025-10-19, version 4.5*

The app doesn’t work with the newbie bridge 2.0 over complicated app

### 1/5 — Too complicated

*2025-02-15, version 4.4*

This app is too complicated. Aunt nobody got time to get a PhD in Hue light control.

### 1/5 — Latest update did not resolve anything

*2024-12-25, version 4.4*

The app is less responsive than before. You may think that the HUE company is working against this developer, as command execution is “half-arsed.” I was looking for a more appropriate description, but this word suits my situation perfectly. I found myself fixing one thing when another stopped working. Things are falling apart quickly. I purchased premium upgrades, but during the scenes, some lights simply lose connectivity (this never happens with other apps). Animations are just a fantasy world—90% of the content doesn’t animate, or the animation screen gets frozen, waiting for God knows what. It seems that the app has lost its direction in the world of HUE lights, or it is simply in development mode, and the HUE company has completely disconnected from it. Disappointing.

### 1/5 — Ne fonctionne pas lors de l'appairage

*2024-12-19, version 4.4*

Je souhaite appairer un pont hue, l'application le trouve bien mais lorsque j'appuie sur le bouton du pont, rien ne se passe...

### 1/5 — Scam

*2024-09-19, version 4.3*

Just get the real Philips Hue app which is way better than this app and doesn’t try to scam you for $6 to get control over more than TWO lights. SCAM ALERT

### 1/5 — Worst app on App Store

*2024-02-19, version 4.3*

I can’t believe apple let this on the store takes all your information and it don’t bloody well work I even paid a tech expert to set up and he said worst app ever so all the YouTube reviews and store reviews are fake it constantly runs in background even when refused access it still runs no stopping it wants access to everything but can’t find light bulbs £200 on light bulbs and not one can it find obviously a scam

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works for Touchlink

*2026-04-28, version 4.7*

The only app that allows you to send Touchlink to Ikea Kajplats for free. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-02-15, version 4.7*

Perfect for controlling my lights. Thanks for making this!

### 5/5 — Best app ever to control Hue Lights

*2026-01-21, version 4.7*

I have loved this app for almost 10 years. The recent updates ensure compatibility with the new Hue bridge pro and, of course, the older bridge. Simple easy to use layout, fantastic programming capabilities, great developer support. I have tried a half dozen alternatives, this one is the best by far!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2025-12-07, version 4.7*

I’ve been using this app since its first release. I’ve tried other apps to control my Philips Hue lights, but none provide the same level of functionality with such good user experience. The regular updates and improvements are great. The developer is very responsive to requests and provides fairly immediate responses for troubleshooting and issues. The advice is consistently helpful and resolves any problems quickly. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — A great secondary app

*2025-11-10, version 4.5*

If you consider yourself a hue power user that is mixing Zigbee lights from different brands you need this app.

I’m not reviewing this as my primary app because I don’t use it as a primary app. I use it for its touchlink ability to connect other bulbs.

If you ever find a technical solution that is suggesting touchlink to connect your bulbs to the hue hub, you want this app

### 5/5 — Excellent scenes and app support

*2025-07-21, version 4.5*

I’ve had this app for years; my first, 3rd party app for my hue lights and the only app that provides a truly accurate template of a simple sunrise and sunset.

Sunrise and sunset. It doesn’t feel like it should be difficult to do this, yet the Hue app falls short of what this app was doing years ago.

Developer response to specific problems is within a week - often within a day - sometimes within hours and offers thoughtful, individualized suggestions.

Unfortunately, I stopped buying Hue lights when I found other brands that were reliable, color accurate much more affordable.

Please note: that UI can be a little dry and off-putting. Set up your sequences and add them to the Hue control box or add them as widgets on your phone and you’ll be set.

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2025-06-01, version 4.5*

This app is wonderful. No other Hue app comes close to the control I can get from this. Wow.

### 5/5 — Tolle App

*2024-12-24, version 4.4*

Toller Funktionsumfang. Vielen Dank für diese nützliche App 👍❤️

### 5/5 — Works with Hue v1 bridge (too) !

*2024-05-19, version 4.3*

Thanks for the well made app! I am able to continue using my gen 1 lights and bridge 😊

### 5/5 — Got my hue working

*2024-03-02, version 4.3*

Got my old hue lights working in seconds, perfect app
